Question

Does the API dedupe rule apply also for the list import ?

We currently have 22k duplicates in our account. We know our API integration is using a combination of the EmailAddress and another field the Centric User Id to know if the contact is unique. Now, when we manually import a list, it creates duplicates if there is no column for centric user id. Does the API dedupe rule apply also for the list import ?

Can you also tell us more about a way to merge these records, but not manually ?

Please don’t create duplicate posts. (I removed your others.)

You can ask support to turn off the custom dedupe key for a list import via the UI., if you know you never include the required additional field using that method. Of course, this means it will act like a list import usually does — choosing one of the existing records based on its last update.
