eNewsletter not displaying correctly when viewed in browser

When an email newsletter is sent and the receiver sees the message: "If there are problems with how this message is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" If user clicks it the page will display code.

How do I fix this?

Sounds like someone mangled the email in Marketo - perhaps by sending a sample, saving the HTML to a local file and pasting the HTML back into the Email Editor.

The true {{system.ViewAsWebPageLink}} doesn't do anything like what you've shown here.

I further tracked the issue to perhaps being an Outlook issue as the statement "If there are problems with how this message is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" comes from Outlook.  I found these articles useful if others are running into the same issue.

You did not mention that the link you're clicking isn't in the email at all, but in your application (Outlook). Marketo has its own web view, which can have the same text, so this was not clear.

I've never found the built-in Outlook feature to be reliable at all.
