Engagement program - same email in multiple streams

Am I right in thinking that if I have the same email in two streams in the same engagement program there is nothing stopping a lead from receiving the email twice? i.e. each email can only be sent to a lead once within a stream, but this rule doesn't apply across multiple streams in the same engagement program?

I guess i can solve the issue using a smart campaign nested in an engagement program - but I only need to do that if my assumption above is correct.

Can someone more knowledgeable than I please confirm?

Many thanks

Hi Robert,

IMHO, this question belongs to the products section

and the answer to your question is NO. If you have the same email object dragged and dropped to 2 separate streams in the same EP, as this is the same email ID, Marketo will only send the email once and the rule does apply across all the streams in the same EP.

Ahh, interesting, and that does make sense. So if the email ID is the same then the lead will only receive the email once, regardless of which stream it is sent from, as long as the streams are in the same engagement program? That makes perfect sense - and is the answer I was hoping I'd get.

Excellent, many thanks Greg.
