Event Cancellation - Update Your Outlook Calendar

Question

Is there an option available to integrate Marketo with Outlook calendar? My requestor has cancelled an event and sent a notification to all registrants via Marketo email. She now wants to know if it's possible to automatically cancel the event in the Outlook calendar for those who added it as a reminder.

A typically useless/misleading response from an LLM.

You can only send updates/cancellations if you know the UID (see below) of the ICS file — the unique identifier of the appointment. This is automatically generated by Marketo. Unfortunately, the UID is randomly generated for each person, and it’s re-generated every time the ICS is requested. So it’s impossible to know which UID the person currently has in their calendar!

If you knew the UID, you could create an ICS file with the same UID, upload it to Marketo Design Studio, and send that to recipients. But you don’t, so you’re out of luck.

Note if you use an Agical link, where you can choose the UID yourself and send updates later.
