Field Sync Marketo - Salesforce

Hi Team,

Is it possible to sync a marketo field to Salesforce ?. (we need the field in both marketo and Salesforce)

I was reading an article while ago which said field needs to be created in Salesforce first and then sync to marketo.

Now that I already went ahead and created field in Marketo, is there a way to syc to Salesforce ?

Thanks,

Deepthi.

Hi, @deepthisw, This is a case where you really need to work closely with your CRM Salesforce team and their Admins.

Yes, you should create the field in Salesforce first and then map it back to Marketo.

If you already have leads using the Marketo field, you will need to run a Smart campaign to move them to the new custom field set up in both SFDC and Marketo.

@deepthisw, Zoe's right! If I may also add, you can't sync Marketo fields over to Salesforce, unlike it's with the Salesforce fields, which get synced over to Marketo if the Sync user has access to those. When you're setting up the initial sync between Marketo and Salesforce, you can map your Marketo and Salesforce fields together as per your requirement; however, once the sync is done and it's enabled, you'd have to reach out to the Marketo support team to help you map the Salesforce and Marketo fields together. So you create fields in Salesforce, give permission to the Sync User's profile to access those fields based on your requirement, wait for the field to sync to Marketo (it'd appear in the Salesforce fields > Unsynced Custom fields), and then reach out to the Support team with the API names of the Marketo and Salesforce fields you want to map.

Hope this is helpful. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
