Fields cannot be mapped - Unmapped Custom Fields

Hi, I am trying to perform initial field mapping and I have fields on the lead/account level that Marketo does not seem to want to allow me to map together "Fields cannot be mapped".  

 

I see that there are account & lead fields that are mapped together to a marketo field such as with "Industry", "website", etc... 

 

I have a number of fields that are crucial to our business that need to be mapped the same way. Thoughts?

Hi Mitch,

There are several criteria that need to be met for fields to be mapped:

  • Fields need to be of the same type
  • The losing field must be removed from all assets
  • The fields must exist on the same Marketo object
  • Fields can only have one of each object type
  • Fields can be mapped to a maximum of 2 SFDC fields
  • SFDC fields can only be mapped to one field in Marketo

To answer this part specifically from my time and experience working for Marketo

You will not be able to do a Lead and Account in the initial field mapping process.   You will need to contact support after the first sync.  Then they can remap it or do other field remappings initial field mapping will not let you do during that phase (assuming you stay within other parameters).

 

Ask support about pros/cons of remapping Lead-Account Fields.
