G+ doesn't have sharing APIs like the other social networks.  This means even if we enhance the new social buttons to share on G+, you'll not be able to measure the social life from G+.  Given the limited value of sharing without analytics, we have punted this out for now.  Planning to revisit in 2H 2014.

Well, yes and no.

If you're using Marketo's built-in social sharing, you're out of luck--but if you're willing to build your own social link and track that, it's actually pretty straightforward: just use a link structured like

https://plus.google.com/share?url=http%3A//www.marketo.com

The markup that will display for the share is based on your o:graph tags (which is, incidentally, used by Facebook/LinkedIn as well).

Alternately, you can just use Google's own code and add a little bit of JS to record it.

Not at the moment. The reason there are still legacy social buttons is cause they haven't yet integrated G+. I know Raj was pretty concerned with it 6 or 9 months or so ago.
