How does "Random Sample" logic work?

Right now, we have a campaign that automatically splits leads 50/50 between our two Sales Development reps. What is the correct way to set up this campaign?

Random Sample = 50 --> Assign to Person A
Default --> Assign to Person B

or

Random Sample = 50 --> Assign to Person A
Random Sample = 50 --> Assign to Person B
Default --> Assign to Person A (<-- when would the Default come into play here? When there isn't an even # of leads in a given day?)

The goal is to make sure ALL leads are properly assigned and evenly split.

What about if you have more than two people? Let's say I want to assign 50% to person A, 25% to person B, and 25% to person C.

Would the choice pattern be:

Choice 1: Random sample is 50% --> Assign to person A

Choice 2: Random sample is 25% --> Assign to person B

Default: Assign to person C

Yes, that is correct. I have since set up a similar logic and it works.
