How long does it take for an anonymous record to convert to a known record?

 

We see all the web activity appearing as anonymous except for the unsubscribe activity.  We have the munchkin tag enabled on the site.  This is relatively new, but we want to know how long it takes for an anonymous user to convert into a known record?

If they don't make themselves known (by filling out a form or following a Marketo-tracked email link) then they will remain anonymous.

 

There would be no way to go back in time* and promote their session to known based on old web activity. You should've been running Munchkin from the beginning!

 

 

* there might have been an interesting way to do so

if you'd used custom browser storage from the start,

but you didn't plan for it, so it doesn't matter

There are users clicking from the email to the website, but 100% of the users are registering as anonymous.  How can that be?

Do the links include the critical mkt_tok query variable when they land on your site? (This the default behavior with a tracked link.)  If so, that's all Munchkin needs.

 

If you provide one of your tracked links I can see if it's set up correctly. Make sure the link is from (a) a new email you just sent and (b) is from a email, not a sample.
