Importing 3rd party data to Marketo

Hi,

We are looking to import 3rd party data to Marketo for some analysis. Could you suggest best approach to import 3rd part data to Marketo or best approach for data management

We are aware of having custom objects created or associate data at lead/company level.

Looking for a good data management approach if you could suggest.

There’s not enough info here for us to give an answer.

 

What kind of data? What kind of analysis?

 

As you’ve correctly mentioned, there are Custom Objects as well as flat lead fields. There are also Program Member fields and Custom Activities. We can’t guide you in any direction without knowing fuller details.

We have data like what are the products an user is visiting on a website, product analysis done by the user, frequent visiting web pages etc...

 

We would like to use Marketo to run some analysis using this data. for example, what is the product that is being viewed by the most user so that we can run a campaign for the product to reach out to product visitors.

Hi Babu,

 

When it comes to web behaviour my first suggestion would be to implement the Munchkin tracking cookie on your site so web visit behaviour is captured automatically in your activity log. That does depend on the cookie being accepted though.

In general, what you describe are all behavioural data, so my first instinct beyond leveraging the standard processes in Marketo would be to set up custom activities for what you want to capture. Of course that depends on being able to identify who is doing these activities, so you can load those custom activities linked to the correct person in the Marketo database.
