I've been using the technique outlined in this blog post to use emoji in subject lines: https://blog.teknkl.com/yes-you-can-use-emojis-in-marketo-subject-lines/   But it doesn't seem to always work—occasionally the emoji will appear but sometimes the raw Q code would appear in the subject line.    Has anyone had any experience using this technique? Or is there a better technique?

Hi all, Has anyone come across a service that can convert a data url into an image and host it? The use case: Via a webhook we receive a BASE64 encoded data url, which resolves into a graph that we would want to display in an email going out to the customer. This works for all email clients, except gmail (and of course any business domain hosted by Google). Other than hosting the graph on a landing page rather than in the email, I see no other solution to make it work for all email clients than to convert the data url to an actual image url, but Marketo itself does not have that ability. Has anyone seen a solution that can do this conversion? Thanks!

Still learning about engagement programs, but we have an engagement program where the team decided to combine two emails into one, meaning I would need to remove a stream (see set-up below). What would be the implications of the removal of a stream? Should I clone the entire engagement program and remove the stream? Also wondering if I could just archive the stream and update nested program to basically skip the stream that needs to be removed?    Stream 1 - Stream 2 - Stream 3 - Stream 4 - Stream 5 - Exhausted Content   Basically, I need to combine stream 2 and 3. Any suggestions? 

Hi all,   So here's what I'm trying to figure out: I have a field I use on the lead object to upload new field event notes called "last event notes".  With every event that we upload, any new notes go to this field and with that comes the problem of losing previous notes - because the last event notes field is overwritten on upload. To get rid of this problem, I am trying to put together a global trigger that detects when new data is added to the last event notes field and adds those notes to a more permanent notes field called "qualification notes". To help keep track of where the notes in "qualification notes" came from, I want the trigger flow so that it will not only move the last event notes into qualification notes, but it will also add the program title to the front of those new notes and also keep any previous notes already in qualification notes. We are going to use "Bulk Import" to connect a snowflake DB with our Marketo instance. We will only be inserting person info once per day. I understand the size limitations on import load per day. A question my dev team had was once a job is queued, how long will it take for the file to be imported?    Reason for the ask is they will need to wait for a response to make sure the batch was processed properly and they need to ping the endpoint to get that response. Is there a general SLA or average timing around success and failure messages I could send them?

We are looking to mass merge duplicate records. I've read about issues with triggered smart campaigns firing from data value changes and score changes triggered by program status updates.  Any thoughts on how to work around these?   Anything else I need to know?    What happens if I merge two records attached to Dynamics records? Will the dynamics record keep syncing over to Marketo, causing a constant merge between those records?  

We are trying to create a User Role that allows for viewing of existing Smart Lists and Reports but not the ability to create or update an existing smart list or report. I don't see any way to do this. In order to see the "Database" tab, you have to select the "Access Database" permission. There doesn't seem to be a specific "Edit" or "Create" permission so once you select "Access Database" the user can create and edit smart lists. There is a specific permission for "Delete" so once they create the smart list, they can't delete it. Similar scenario exists for "Access Analytics".   Am I missing anything or is this just one of the limitations in the User Roles? Thanks, Sheila

Can folder access be restricted or dictated? If a Sales Team member is interested in creating an email we want to provide specific templates for use. However, we need to make sure that only certain folders and templates are accessible. Is there a way to do this? Does it require admin access?

Has anyone experienced an error in Marketo when syncing a Contact or Lead that is: "Can't find sObject <<Lead Id>>, this sObject could has been deleted"  [sic]   This issue is that many of the Leads and Contacts with this error are not converted or deleted.   I think the issue is we have Marketo set up to not sync Leads that are set as Lead Status: "Disqualified" - but what I think is happening is the Lead is being created and meets criteria and is getting into a flow, then later the Lead is disqualified in Salesforce, then later Marketo is trying to remove the Lead from a flow and sync to Salesforce, but it no longer can because it no longer meets the criteria and its failing.   We have hundreds of records that are failing to sync over and over with this message. I'd appreciate any tips on how to clean this up - we have a similar issue with deleted Leads as well.

Hello, I need your help please in my issue with a webhook. To connecte our Marketo with CRM, we created a webhook with template in JSON which send all necessary information about lead from Marketo to CRM.   My problem is that we've created in Marketo a field "Message" where there is a texte about demand of a lead or our comments. Except that, we speak French and there are many different caracteres in this language. When we send information through webhook to CRM, in activity log of a lead the message is presented correctely but in our CRM tool we see strang signes on the place of é,à....  Team of developers of CRM  explaines me that the information they need to synchronize Marketo with CRM  is the encoding page. on standard , UTF8 is used. They usk me to provide the information about  which encoding page  Marketo use for this interface. I don't understand where to look for this information. And the customer must click on at least one checkbox and more than one.  Example: Person1: option 1Person2: option 1 + 2 Person3: option 3 Here is the ideal stream run: Form filled > member of "placeholder stream" (nothing will happen in the stream) + added to a form fill list + added to each option# list Stream1: Trigger added to a form fill list with a member of option 1 > send option1 email *Person 1 and Person 2 get the email. Hello, I'm new to Marketo and looking for guidance on how to move leads from one nurture stream to another once they complete an action. We use Marketo for our community website, once members register to create an account and select yes to receive marketing communications from us they are put into our new member onboarding stream.    Of course, we have people in our database that aren't members. We are creating a non-member nurture stream that we hope will eventually lead to them becoming members.    My question is, once somebody who isn't a member creates an account, then gets put into the new member onboarding stream, how do I remove them from the non-member nurture stream so that they no longer receive those emails.    Sorry if a question like this has already been asked and answered. 

We have re-architected the way our client subscriptions pull into Salesforce, and the detail we need is on Account>Subscription>Subscription Product & Charges.     I've been able to bring in the necessary fields for that object into Marketo but they're only available as constraints on the subscription so "subscriptions with product & charge: field name." Subscription to Subscription Product & Charge is a 1: many relationship. My concern is that putting constraints like the below would not necessarily query the SAME product & charge line: So it could look for one that is active but that might not be the one I'm looking for. Can someone help confirm and/or point me in the direction of an alternative? Thanks,Kim      

I'd like to get some clarity on the Flow step "Sync Person to SFDC" and when its necessary to use, vs. allowing the regular Marketo<>SFDC sync to sync data between the two systems. Particularly as it pertains to Contacts.                If I am understanding this article correctly, the warning suggests that if this Flow step is taken on an existing Contact, then a duplicate Lead object record will be created and pushed to SFDC.        Is that the case? The reason I question this, is because this other article about the Contact object and syncing recommends using this Flow step if you need to manually force a sync of a Contact to SFDC. However, there's no warning message here about creating a duplicate Lead record. Additionally, this community discussion thread suggests that if you try to sync a person to SFDC who already exists, it will not create a duplicate. Can someone please clarify this contradiction?  &n

I tried to export the campaign activity data for 2018. On dashboard, it shows the last activity date and time stamps but once I export, the data and time stamps are all the same dated back to 01 Jan 1970! Can anyone help?

Hi, we are using an MCC account in Google Ads, a parent account and some different children accounts. When integrating Marketo and Google Ads it only integrates with one of the children accounts and not all of them. According to the documentation Marketo should show a screen in which it shows the different Google Ads accounts we can sync but for some reason Marketo does not display that screen. We reached out to Marketo support and Google Ads support. Each blame the other one and we don't have any answers.    Did anyone encounter a situation like that before? Any idea what can we do?

Now we are connectig a Marketo form into Salesforce.Wondering if we’re able to not sync certain dropdown-option records to SFDC.For example, we have a dropdown field called "Question1," and it has "Option1", "Option2", and "Option3".we don’t want a record to be synced over to SFDC through Marketo when users select "Option3". Hello all -    I am working on a smart list that is Job Title specific. Does Marketo have the capability to filter by using wildcard patterns? I know some programs use percent signs (%) or asterisks (*).   For example, I'd like to pull in CTOs but not Directors (which contains 'cto'). So it should look something like this - % CTO %. However, I've tried numerous iterations of wildcard patterns (and job titles) for testing purposes but it always returns zero contacts.   Does anyone have insight into this? Thanks 

How do you handle sending Marketo nurture emails to contacts who are not assigned to a salesperson for whatever reason (ie: account is outside of ICP, inactive owner assigned, etc).For contacts outside of ICP, we currently wait until they do some sort of hand-raising activity or MQL before we reassign to a salesperson OR have someone manage the replies and manually reassign the salesperson. However, this is very manual and not a perfect process so we're trying to identify a better way to manage this process (ideally automated).For contacts owned by an owner that's inactive (due to BDR attrition), do you sign off the email from an alias name and have someone manage the inbox of replies? Do you pause them in the sales nurture so there are no more emails going out from that inactive owner? Our sales ops team needs to reassign the inactive owners manually and consider the account books when doing so, which means it could take a couple of weeks to reassign accounts from an inactive owner to
