Marketo

I'd love to know if anyone has tracked users via multiple IP addresses on their contact record.  For example, we would like to track a users IP across their devices and locations (e.g. work laptop, work phone, home phone, home computer).  Has anyone has experience tracking this in Marketo, and if so, is the data stored on anonymous IP or on the activity record field 'client IP' (or is there a third option?).  I'd also like to know if Marketo overwrites the data, keeps track of all or how is it managed?

We recently started to use LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms and the LinkedIn/Marketo integration. Now that we have some leads coming in, I can now see the LinkedIn Form when I use the LI Form Triggers. No issue there.    For all OTHER paid channels, we direct traffic to a page with a Marketo form, they fill out the form and get their cookie, and we can of course see their website activity tracked. However, when we use LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, the Marketo form/cookie step isn't happening and they are still seen as an anonymous visitor. This is preventing us from determining if they downloaded our asset after the form fill.    Has anyone identified this issue, or more importantly, found a solve to get them cookied immediately during the redirect to our site from the ad? Appreciate any words of wisdom!    

Hello,   We're trying to find a better way to automate lead hand-off for the form submissions on our company's Contact Us form. Currently, our Marketo instance is sending alert emails to the EMEA region's marketing mailbox. The EMEA marketing team would like to automate the creation of a lead/contact record in the Salesforce instance they use. However, our Marketo instance is currently synced with a different/separate Salesforce instance, so we can't sync to Salesforce or create a new task from our Marketo into their Salesforce instance. Does anybody know of a workaround to this dilemma?   Maybe there is a third-party integrator that's capable of receiving/storing data from our Marketo and pushing that form submit data via an API call into their Salesforce instance? I have a velocity script token in my email to add 30 days from today's date with a "friendly" date format: "Feb 25, 2021"I also directly include a Date field using its {{lead.token}}: {{lead.Membership End Date:default=end date}}. However, that output is of course not in a "friendly" date format, but in the default system format "2021-01-22".   Sample email copy:  Your membership expired on 2022-01-22; however, if you renew before Feb 25, 2021 we'll be happy to extend your renewal rate.   I know I need to use Velocity to output the Membership End Date instead of using the {{lead.token}} directly but how do I format that field?

I have an issue with the contain filter in my smart campaigns and wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue:   I have a Smart campaign filtering people into Static lists based on a populated field. For example, if someone submits an assignment called "✉️ Skill check: Create a Smart Campaign" they would go into the relevant Static list. In the Smart campaign flow I had If "assignment name" contains "Create a Smart Campaign" add to Static list 1, with a default of add to Static list 00. Everyone coming through the Smart campaign is being added to Static list 00 and I can't figure out why. I've changed the flow to If "assignment name" is "✉️ Skill check: Create a Smart Campaign" add to Static list 1 and it works fine.    Has anyone else experienced any issues with the contain filter, or might it be instance specific and therefore I should submit a ticket?   Thanks, Maddie

Hello,   I am trying to set up an A/B split test for the subject line for one of our emails. The Champion/Challenger setup is confusing me a bit. I do not want to send a portion before the actual email send to test, and then send the winner subject line to everyone else. I would like to send this test to 100% and split it evenly 50/50 with the subject lines on the day of the actual send. My question is, if I move it to say 100% receives Challengers like in this screenshot: Will it send it to 100% divided evenly? It is trying to force me to select champion sections even with setting it to challengers at 100% so that is why I'm not sure if it will actually do this. We ran a AB Test program with two different subject line, and we have an Interesting Moment campaign to capture open activity with subject line. we use token to capture the subject line.   We are unable to see subject line for this AB test program in activity line, it appears 'Opened Email: Subject Line: "" '   Do you have any idea why this occur and any solution for this?

Hi,   we did setup a new CNAME for a new brand. The CNAME looks like: info.[brand].com.  IN CNAME [marketo-instance].mktoweb.com. [marketo-instance].mktoweb.com. 300 IN CNAME sj11.mktossl.com.sj11.mktossl.com. 300 IN A 104.17.72.206sj11.mktossl.com. 300 IN A 104.17.71.206sj11.mktossl.com. 300 IN A 104.17.73.206sj11.mktossl.com. 300 IN A 104.17.70.206sj11.mktossl.com. 300 IN A 104.17.74.206   In addition to that, we added the new domain as a domain alias to the Landing page rules. But when we try to access the landing pages, we get a 403 result instead of the actual landing page. Does anyone has an idea what the issue could be here?

I need to create an automated email that goes out once a week. It sounds straight forward but I am stumped on the best way to execute this.   This email would go out to all members informing them of new activities created the previous week.   The email would contain information on the activities and links to our website going directly to the activity.   The activities are created by another team member and the information is stored in our backend.   I envision the program to work like this: The other team member inputs the new activity information in our backend. On the day before deployment, an API trigger populates a table with the new offers and their information. On the day of deployment, a smart campaign checks to see if there is new information in the table and if yes, sends the email inserting the offer information from the aforementioned table into the email, and if no, no email is deployed from this program for that week. Hi Marketo Community,    I need your help. I'm trying to copy our Customer Success Team on all of the newsletters that are sent to our clients.    I read through other posts and found the following options that don't quite fit for us: bcc, cc, and alerts. With CC, we only have the option to add an Account Owner or Lead Owner and neither works for us because the account is usually owned by an AE in the CRM. With BCC, I understand that they'll end up receiving a copy of every single email (if 500 clients then 500 emails) so that's out. And finally, with Alerts, we have an issue with the flow function - only sales or account owner can be selected.    Also, we've tried just using "Email Address" filter but all of our internal folks are automatically excluded as part of the "Email Eligibility Segment" that excludes unsubscribed, marketing suspended, invalid email, etc.   Does anyone know of any other options? 

Hello,We have a Mytoken added in the email content which pulls the Meeting details(Date and Time) of an appointment. We have faced scenarios where the sometimes Mytoken doesn't pull any value and sends out the email blank(with empty space of Mytoken value).   Is there any way we can stop the email when Mytoken used in that email doesn't have a value?   So If Mytoken has value ---> Need to send the email If empty value ---> No need to send the email to that record.Can anyone please help ASAP.

  Hi, I save UTM parameters via hidden fields in Marketo. Should I make a distinction between global and local forms? I have read that with local forms it is better to track the UTM parameters better via the programs, can someone explain why?

We ran into some Firefox issues with the form not appearing in private browsing or in strict protection setting so I applied @sanfordwhiteman's fix ("Really, finally winning the Marketo Forms vs. Tracking Protection battle"). Hi I would like to know if it's possible to show the program status (any program, success status) in a field\emails\token? trying to automate program participation details, and I got the program name, date, and now trying to add into the mix the program status   thanks, 

In field management, if I use the "Block Field Updates" functionality, does that block those sources from entering data in blank fields or does it only block those sources from overwriting existing values? Thanks for the help!

I have this landing page I have started and have the age old problem of wanting to align my checkboxes left and labels right engage.livelyme.com/unsubscribe-preference-center.html The checkboxes should align with the label and the descriptor text should be directly underneath the label. The form should be centered on the page. I have read through several forum articles and applied custom CSS that solved this issue for others but I am still having this problem   I appreciate your time and assistance here.

Hello, I am working on building a very large "Master Template" that compiles all of our modules used in all emails into one big template. When I try to approve the template, it keeps giving me multiple "Invalid Module" errors. I am trying to figure out what is causing this issue since I am copying the code from our already used emails that do not give this error. Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to sync all opportunities and I am not having success or maybe I am not understanding correctly how this functionality works.  The docs say that Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Users, Opportunites, etc can be synced.  I understand this to mean when I look at the Salesforce Objects Sync and collapse all objects to the top level, I would be able to see all of these objects.  As it is, collapsed only Lead, Contact, and Account show.  Does opportunity not have its own entry?   With following help in other discussions, I have logged into Salesforce as the Marketo user.  I can see Contacts, Opportunities, and the Opportunity Contact Roles.  I have performed a schema sync as well.  Am I not understanding how this is suppsed to work or may something else be going on that I need to dig into further?
