Marketo Zoom - Webinars missing

We are having an issue where when we link a Zoom Webinar to an event in Marketo and if we have to recreate this event for a specific reason we are no longer able to select the Zoom webinar from the list. The only way of fixing this is that we have to create a brand new webinar in Zoom and then link that over. 

 

This is not a very user friendly experience and creates a lot of extra work. Does anyone have a solution to fix this issue?

Yes, if you don’t/can’t follow the above process before deleting a linked Program you’ll continue to encounter this frustration. Training and documentation are vital to deal with order-of-operations quirks in Marketo — like in any app!

 

Unfortunately this behavior is here to stay, the connector marks Zoom Webinars as “reserved” and won’t remove them unless they’re deliberately replaced.


So we are going to have to recreate the webinars (with all of the bells and whistles) if this ever happens again..... Just sounds like sloppy development and poor usability that hopefully can have a second look down the road.

Yes, this is expected behavior. Whichever Zoom Webinar is linked to a Program at the time it is deleted will not be available in future programs.

 

However, you don’t necessarily have to recreate the exact same Webinar with all the bells/whistles/settings in Zoom. You merely need to a some dummy Webinar — which can have only a barebones setup — and then link the Marketo Program to that Webinar. Only then delete the Program. That’ll let you reuse the original “real” Webinar.

This still does not solve the original problem at all. 

 

If I have linked program to a Zoom event. Then that program gets deleted, either by accident or was cloned and needed to be remade for a specific reason, before we had a chance to select another Zoom webinar in the original program. That Zoom webinar is for ever lost to all other programs. 

 

Creating a dummy webinar does not allow you to select that proper webinar from the Event list afterwards. 

 

Either way the fact that I have to once again create a dummy Zoom Webinar is again not very user friendly. As it is forcing us create something for the sake of it being able to swap out.
