Multiple Tags vs. Multiple Tag Values

Hi everyone,

I want to button-up our program tags as we continue to build out our Marketo instance.  Was wondering if it's possible to select multiple options from same tag type? 

I looked on following Product Docs: Managing Tag Values - Marketo Docs - Product Docs  and Understanding Tags - Marketo Docs - Product Docs  and both point out that tags can have more than one value, but can multiple tag values be selected at the same time per tag in the program?

Is there a best practice when it comes to assigning programs their tags?  How many tags should be assigned per program?

We use tags religiously across all of our Marketo programs - these are especially useful for reporting in RCE.  Unfortunately, Marketo does not permit you to select multiple values of a tag.  I asked a similar question in the community back in February (where I had also provided links to existing ideas - looks like these have either been removed or never imported over when Marketo migrated the community platform earlier this year): Allowing the selection of multiple tag values - any update?

Hi Tom!!   Hope you're doing well!    And yes I have the same question, find it strange that you can't choose more than one tag for when creating a program.   I'll be upvoting on this one.

    Yeah, this seems like basic "tag" functionality. The terminology that Marketo uses is pretty misleading as a "tag" suggests that you can add more than one. When you're setting up tags in admin, they ask if you want to create a new "tag type" and then the values under that "tag type" are called "tags", yet you can't select more than one of those "tags" contrary to what every other platform ever considers normal tag behavior.
