Open #s higher than Delivered #s

I just want to clarify - if you open a Marketo email 3 times, does Marketo count that as 3 opens or are the open numbers unique?

The reason why I ask is because I notice that sometimes open numbers are higher than delivered, which would lead me to believe that open numbers are not unique.

The following can help explain this

  • An Open is only logged once per person per email in Marketo, and there is never a second such event in the Activity Log.
  • Click results in an implied Open being registered as well, even if there was no Open ever logged
