Personalised greeting in emails based on gender

It would ge great if there was a way we could personalise 'Dear' in our emails based on the gender of the lead.
In many countries the way you greet someone depends on their gender/age.
We would love if Marketo had a way to help facilitate this.

    Hello, I am encountering this issue too with my company as we expand our communications into Europe. It seems that the link provided no longer functions. Could someone repost or direct me to the right posting that explains a work-through for this matter?

    You can definitely use a formula field to create a logical token that takes into consideration information for producing a salutation. You definitely have to have the information in your system in order to utilize it. If you don't have the info, there's nothing marketo can do to help.

    Thank you, I did not know this was available.
    This is reliant on us having the gender of a lead populated though. Hmmm.... thanks for shraing this.

    There is already a workaround for this:

    There's some setting up to do but it is possible.
