Pushing externally captured IP info for inferred data

Question

If we capture IP address from another system, is it possible to push that data onto a lead to capture inferred information? For example, we have leads pushed by another system that captures the info and we want the inferred data, can we have it populate after the fact by populating Marketo with the IP addresses?

Joshua,The inferred fields are system fields and cannot be edited with a "change data value" step.

Like Devraj says, can't use the system fields for this. You can of course use whatever custom fields you want to store additional information. The additional reality is that even if you could push the IP address into the system IP field, that doesn't mean the system would then do a reverse lookup on the field. That whole process is not user-triggerable.

You should also move this thread to Products (then mark Devraj's answer Correct!). "Central" isn't actually a support area, it's for general marketing discussions, and for later searches this question should be in the right place.
