Somtimes it says "Image Replaced" but the preview of the image still looks like the old image. Could that be the case for you? Did you try refreshing your browser or visiting the image's URL directly to see if it updated?

I spend a lot of time messing around with images that won't upload, and have to make a differently-named version fairly frequently...almost every time in fact...to update an image I'm using in an email or on a landing page. It's really a chronic problem! And I agree, cache clearning is not a good solution.

I still have this issue and so far, no fixes. People keep saying it's a browser issue but I don't think it is - or, if it is, then it's a browser/Marketo compatibility issue.... Anyway, I've had this issue since day one. Clearing caches is not practical for me - and I cannot run in Incognito mode (corporate security settings). So I am pretty much stuck and just cross my fingers every time I have the issue. I usually just end up deleting the original image and reuploading the new one fresh from scratch... ** sigh **
I don't like clearing my cache either, so I use Google Chrome Incognito. Just open Chrome and it's Shift-Command-N (on a Mac, not sure what it is on a PC). Incognito is also very useful for testing forms that use progressive profiling, pre-filled fields or visibility rules.

I've run into this so many times now, but today I've cleared my cache, logged out, quit my browser... nothing works. When I browse for the images the correct versions show, but when you add them it's still the old version. It's been about 15 mintues now.
Why is something so unbelievably simple this buggy?

true - but i'm highly reluctant to do that as it seems to also clear all my form pre-poulated info and logins/passwords. I cannot deselect these options in web tools (corporate restrictions). So clearing caches is a real hassle for me. But yes, good to have options for workarounds :)

I was recently running into this as well. Based on community feedback, I found clearing out my cache (more than a refresh), did the trick, showing the new image.

I have experienced the same thing often. Typical web refreshes don't work, so I generally have to quit out of Marketo and sometimes the browser entirely, then reopen and it will appear correctly. There is def. a lag time or some other quirk and it's very frustrating.

Many times I've found that the image may take a while to refresh on Marketo server. I sometimes clear the cache as well in my browser and it will load the newer image. Often just to make sure things are working I will paste the image URL in a different browser than what I am currently working in and I usually see the new image in the fresh browser. Hope that helps, the functionality does work but there can definitely be a time lag.

Just this week this issue has started to happen. I used to use the replace image function frequently but now it just says image uploaded and it is the old image, not the updated one. Frustrating.

I think the server may just take a while to refresh, sometimes it's faster, sometimes slower. I have tried refreshing the browser with no effect, however the image does seem to replace after a period of time passes. ?
