Setting Up New Companies in Marketo using externalCompanyId and integrating with Sugar CRM

Hi everyone 

 

We are looking to create new companies in Marketo for the first time using externalCompanyId, pass through contacts data from our CRM (Sugar) and associate existing leads in Marketo and new contacts to the new companies. 

 

We have read some of these product docs but wondering if anyone has any other tips / best practices / things to be aware of from previous experience:

@sanfordwhiteman is it possible to apply this structure to a small sample of leads eg. create a company on Marketo, associate a few Leads and Contacts - also interrelated) and use that to implement changes on our syncing system?

Not sure what you mean? You’re not under any obligation to use the Company API for all your Marketo leads, so you certainly can run a pilot with a subset of test leads.
