Show Velocity Script data based on Lead's Segmentation

The requirement: Show content in email based on a particular segment the user belongs to BUT using a velocity script.

 

We can see all kinds of fields associated with leads in the Objects dropdown right panel but segments that the leads/users belong to don't show in the list. Note: The requirement is to have velocity script to populate the dynamic content. The script token is already in use to populate the user's data in the emails based on his/her field values. We want to utilize the same script. We're tying to solve a problem where we don't have to convert every email into dynamic using segments alone. We believe using one velocity script will do the same job for all the emails under program.

 

Has anybody tried this? Is it even possible in Marketo?

segments that the leads/users belong to don't show in the list.

They absolutely do show in the list. They're properties of the Person. Just scroll to the 'S' part of the list.

 

We use Segmentations all the time in VTL.
