syncing marketo field to sfdc

Question

Traditionally I have created fields in SFDC and synced to Marketo. Is there a way to sync a field created in Marketo, to SFDC?

Hi @stacyni , you can do this if the field already exists in Marketo, but it's kind of a pain.

Create the field in SFDC and make it visible to the Marketo sync user.
This will create a new custom field in Marketo.
Do a data load to get the field values from the original Marketo field into the new SFDC field.
Submit a Marketo support ticket to remap the field.
Hide the new custom field in Marketo.

Always recommended to create the fields in SFDC first if you think you might want them to sync between platforms in the future.

The field must be created in SFDC as well (i.e. no, Marketo can’t create the field in SFDC).

Then you open a Support case with Marketo and ask them to bind the fields together. You can’t do this from the UI yourself.
