Tracking Social Engagement in Marketo

Is it possible to track user engagement on paid/organic social posts? For example - Marketo captures whether a cookied-user likes/comments/shares one of our posts on social media (no LP or form involved)?

I wouldn’t be as absolute as Britney, though it’s true the Munchkin cookie is not involved for the reason Britney noted.

It is possible to track the social activity of Marketo users under certain conditions:

  • You know their social handle/account via other means, i.e. you gather it on a form

or

  • You are supplying them a specific shareable link, i.e. it’s already been personalized for their Marketo user, and you can then detect it using the social network’s API

@sanfordwhiteman ,

do you have any good worked examples of this in action?

Cheers

 Not without them clicking through on the post. Marketo would only be able to see that activity because of the munchkin code. If they're only liking, commenting or sharing the post within the social platform, there's nothing for Marketo to see/track.
