trigger campaign status is changed in SFDC Campaign

I am not sure I was using the trigger campaign status is changed in SFDC Campaign right. I had to use member of sfdc batch campaign with the status limitation to achieve the goal I needed to.

What is the trigger campaign status is changed in SFDC Campaign used for and what needs to be in place to maximize its function?

Generally what I'd do is sync to a Marketo program and trigger on changes to Program Status.
