Two Streams One Engagement Program or Two Different Engagement Programs?

Currently, we have two different engagement programs each with 1 stream. However, I'm wondering if it makes more sense to have 1 engagement program with 2 streams since they are so similar. For example, the criteria/data management campaigns that make people eligible for program membership and manage their statuses is the same across both programs. The only difference between the audiences is that one has a product designation of ecommerce listed in sfdc. The email that goes out to both groups is also different.

So, should we be keeping these as two engagement programs or have one program with two different streams dedicated to the two different audiences?

    I like to have engagements programs dedicated to each initiative, but if they are related, then you can just have one program. If there are people in both programs, then you need to keep two separate programs. There are several advantages to both:

    2 engagement programs:

    - pro: ability to use the filter "member of engagement program" and easily distinguish the two initiatives

    - pro: ability to have the same individual in both programs

    1 engagement program with 2 streams:

    - pro: one fewer engagement program towards your instance limit of 100

    - con: a person can only be in one stream of the same engagement program

      Great, thank you! Would you recommend any best practices for going about consolidating two engagement programs into one engagement program with two streams?
