Workflow testing with sample email

Hi,

we are planning to send out an email including a CTA - when receiver clicks CTA an automatic operational email is triggered which confirms attendance. 

How can I test this workflow via "Send a sample email"? When clicking CTA in sample email nothing happens. When trying it via "real campaign" it works.

You can't. Clicks on Sample Emails are not being recorded and cannot trigger Flow Steps.

 

There are numerous aspects in which sample emails behave differently than real emails sends. Usually it's a good idea to test everything through a real send.
