Solved

I'm just starting to use the Customer Engagement Engine and am using the Standard subscription type.  I know there is an option to add on the ability to have mutliple Programs and Streams, but my company is not quite ready to do that.  In the meantime, the way I see it, I can simply use 1 stream to send different types of content based on segments (i.e. I have an Industry Segment set up already).  If this is in fact the case, is there a limit to how many pieces of content I can place in 1 Stream?  Since I am limited to 4 active Programs and 1 Stream/Program, I'm trying to make the most of what I have available.I'm just trying to determine the best way to set up all of our nurture emails so that we are targeted as best as we can based on industry, persona, buying stage, etc.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys!I'm interested in some Aha moments and examples of Marketing and Sales working together to achieve awesomeness in Marketo. One example we have is a sales team member who asked to create a campaign in salesforce that is populated when a contact ifirst nterracts with Marketo in a way that would indicate they are cookied. Along with a date of when they started being tracked...The sales and pre-sales guys(and girls) have used this to priorities and set-up their account ownership on a weekly basis.Do you have any examples of reports, Aha moments, or moments of sheer brilliance?Warm regards,Nora Slattery

Hello:Does anyone out there deactivate their smart campaigns after an email is sent.  (Im talking about emails sent 6+ months ago.  For example, we have a status clicked smart campaign, it probably doesnt need to be on anymore.  THoughts?thanks!

Is there a way to see how many emails a lead has recieved? We want to see this number just so we can set our communications limit. Thanks,JayF

I created a smart list, and was under the impression that using the filters i put in place, it was pulling the names from SFDC. However, when I looked up one of the leads that was in the smart list, I noticed he was not in SFDC, but he was however, in Marketo. This is confusing me. Do these smart lists pull names from Marketo AND SFDC? How does this work?

Our sales team uses the Marketo Outlook Add-In to send emails to leads. When leads reply to these emails our sales employees are getting a cookie if they download pictures or click on a link in those emails. Now, our employee’s web activity is tracked and recorded under that lead record. Because of these problematic cookies, certain leads now have inflated lead scores, but it's difficult to tell which ones.Has anyone else faced this issue?  What is your company doing to make sure the cookies aren’t being added to employees and writing to lead records? Any suggestions on cleaning up the inflated scores with a batch campaign?

I cloned a previous auto response page and then edited the page with new information.  Our process is to send an email and if the customer clicks to receive the content they go to a landing page.  After completing the landing page and hitting submit they get a thank you.  A second email is then sent with a link to the content. My problem is that when a customer completes the landing page with their contact information, the auto responding email is not pulling my new updated information.  It is pulling the email I cloned from.I did select approve once content was updated, but I believe this has to do with directing Marketo to send the "correct" auto response and I cant seem to figure out how to point it to the correct one.

Hello,We have different smart campaign tracks in a nurture campaign.I want to remove a lead from one of the smart campaigns. I clicked on the Qualified leads tab of the smart campaign, selected that lead, clicked on the " Lead Actions ", moved the cursor to " Special " & then clicked on " Remove from Flow " and then clicked on the smart campaign name from where it had to be removed. But it did not happen... That lead is still there in the smart campaign. How do I remove that lead from the smart campaign ?

Regarding social sharing, if I click "skip" when asked "marketo social would like to post to your friends on your behalf", where do I share to? I don't see anything on my facebook indicating that I shared something. If I don't click skip, will it post it to my facebook wall? How does this work?

I saw this idea http://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000IxG2AAK and it made me laugh. It made me wonder if Marketo had any funky little easter eggs or in jokes?

I'm curious if anyone has found a good solution that would pull the tags from a UTM tracking code and push that data into Marketo / SFDC?

Hi all,I have a requirement for develop a email template, and can-spam as well.but now the email template already there, but what's the can-spam?by search from net, per my understanding, it's the function that provide for recipients that opt-out or unsubscribe from our emails. is that correct? If so, can i add it to template?

Is it possible to run an AB test on 2 subject lines in an engagement stream?I have a nurture set up, and i'd like to test out 2 different subject lines for the first email in the stream.  Best practices for doing this?

HI ... We'd like to include our social media icon/links to the bottom of our Marketo emails.Any idea how to embed these in our email templates and landing pages?Assuming I will need a designer with HTML experience? Thanks,Carla

Hi, We are using progressive profiling and have the case of a lead who had accessed an asset w/o filling the mandatory fields. It looked like the lead had received a emailing but just entered his email address (instead of full form). My guess (and my tests have confirmed it) was that the lead had in a previous life filled out all possible fields. He has received our blast w/ pre-populated email address field which he has replaced by another (new) email address. My question is: if a lead changes his email address in a form, can we retrace what was the original lead/email address? Thanks. Cécile @ Talend

Hi,I'm exporting a series of smart lists, all with the exact same customized view. 9/10 the order of columns matchs and 1/10 it doesn't. I re-export spreadsheet and this is fine. Have you also noticed that? This drives me crazy!Cécile

Hi,we are looking at automatically standardize company names. Does anyone have try this?Should we replace existing company names with the clean version or should we create a new field with standardized name? (e.g. Nokia US and Nokia UK can be found either under their "real name" or their standardized name "Nokia")The goal is to be able to easily tag leads that belong to same company (e.g. is Customer), to do proper segmentations or run reports.Cécile @ Talend

Our organization has in the last year expanded globally. We typically run campaigns out of our corporate office in North America and our regional office may or may not opt in to these programs. Has anyone had experience setting up global programs and have any advice on how best to do this. My concern is as we build these program out we want to ensure we are setting them up so that we can look at the data and reporting post campaign. If we set this all up under on global program is it possible to have sub programs underneath the global or how would we potentially agregate all the data for global reporting but then slice and dice the data for regional reporting. Is this even possible?

Hello!I'm trying to upload a list into Marketo and update the First Name, Last Name, and Company fields, but it won't let me import anything but the email address.  First Name, Last Name, and Company name are not blocked fields in our Marketo instance - is this something on the Salesforce side? Thanks for any help!Jenn

Hi,Can any one explain me how we can create a text only email in Marketo.

Hi,I am trying to figure out the best way to partly sync our SFDC leads/contacts to Marketo.I thought I could do it by creating restrictive sharing rules for our Market user, but according to this thread(http://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000PHt9AAG), it seems to work only when let SFDC leads sync to Marketo.Does it say when someone changes lead data on Marketo which Market User can't access, Marketo still can update that lead's info on SFDC? If Marketo would update only leads which Market User can see, It is ok for me to let Marketo do it.Or as other people on that thread suggested, The best way is to create Smart Campaign to sync Marketo leads to SFDC? Can I still sync only selected SFDC leads to Marketo at the first sync by creating sharing rules for Market User?

I've been trying to do research on whether it is legal to send email campaigns to purchased list and found some mixed reviews. Does any one have any feedback on this? Thanks in advance for your response!

I am trying to create email alerts when opportunities has been created in stage 00. The only trigger I can find is "Opportunity is Updated". Will this trigger catch the creation of new opportunities? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

We launched our first engagement program earlier this week. Because we first wanted to test on a small number before rolling out to a larger part of our database, we've added about 4500 leads into the program. 2 casts have gone out and when I look at our results dashboard it appears that we 0 engaged leads. The content we are using has been optimized over the past month across several other lists testing for open rates, click-thrus and conversions - so I'm confident we are putting our best foot forward here.I understand there is a private algorithm which determines an engaged lead from a member, but I find it hard to believe that out of a list of 4500 I can't even get 1 pereson to qualify as engaged. Can anyone shed some light onto this?
