Solved

A couple of months ago, our MKTO-SFDC sync failed because SFDC executed a forced refresh of the password for the account we are using to sync. It was a over a weekend so a few hundred of our leads needed to be batch processed the following Monday to get them all synced-up again. My question: Is there a way/process on the MKTO side that I can implement in order to prevent something like this from happening again? I am sure a lot of your customers on SFDC have experienced something similar.

Looking to gain some insight into lead trends, and want to see the number of leads sync'ed to SFDC over a time period, filtered by lead type, i.e. would like to see how many leads were Marketing-qualified with a specific Lead Status (Lead Status has been updated after the lead has been processed by Sales). Can I do this in Marketo or do I have to create a report in SFDC?

Has anyone else experienced the abbreviated URLs in the Sales Insight Web Activity Web Page? Mine seem strangely short compared to the URLs in the Interesting Moments tab.I thought that I made some error during installation but support says this is to be expected. I don't see why the URLs would be longer on one tab over the other. Unfortunately, the shortened URLs are not as useful.Thank you

We're sending webinar invites to our database (each webinar is a separate program) and we would like to exclude "Invited" / "Sent" member status to sync into SFDC Campaign, as it messes up campaign attribution and reporting.I know "SFDC Campaign sync" will cause all members to sync, and currently there isn't a filter by status. It's still valueble to see invited in the Program level...did anyone has a workaround for this? Thanks!Itay

Before when using the "send & track" button in outlook we had no problem, however recently it always pulls up a preview of the email. My sales reps find this annoying and would like to turn this feature off. Any help?

I have an engagement program where I am using programs with child campaigns in them to run a/b email testing, and exclude leads who have already downloaded the same  content from other campaigns.  My question is if I have a 2 week cadence and a cast is scheduled and the lead has been excluded since they already downloaded, will they automatically go to the next piece or will they have to wait 2 weeks when the next cast is set to go?Does this make sense?ThanksJason

We are preparing to sync our MS Dynamics CRM with our Marketo instance.  As part of that, we are "cleaning up" our Contact records and trying to decide if we should just deactivate them or actually delete them.During the initial CRM/Marketo sync, do inactive Contact records get loaded into Marketo? Thanks!

In the past, test emails sent to myself from Marketo would show the tracking links in the emails. This morning, I noticed that this is no longer the case--test emails only show the bare links, and only when the actual campaign is run and the "real" emails are sent do they have the tracked links. I'm not complaining--in fact this is better, so I can more easily check links, and not falsely record clicks for emails--but I wanted to confirm if this is a change others are seeing too.Example below. Note the links in the red boxes, from mousing over the same link.Test email:"Real" email:

Is there a way to see the people youve sent tests to?

Hey all!Happy Friday! This may be a silly question, and I think I know the answer but want to 100% confirm - when adding a link to a gated piece of content as a call-to-action in an outreach email, do you need to direct the lead to a landing page with a form first, or can you take them directly to the piece of content? Or, shoud you direct them to a landing page specfic to that piece of content with a direct link and no form? What are the best practices here? Since we will already have the lead's name and email, we don't need to grab that, but not sure exactly what is necessary to make sure they are cookied for tracking and that tracking is associated with the correct lead.Hope that all makes sense, thank you in advance for any guidance!Allison

Hi everyone, I have searched around the community for people using Opportunitues in Marketo, without any of the supported out of the box CRMs. In short, my questions is - can I use opportunities in that way? I'll create opportunities from a custom CRM via MObject calls, and more specifically, with syncMObjects. From what I see, opportunities can exist in Marketo without being connected to SalesForce/Dynamics/Etc..A simple story for us would be later to check if a lead has a given opportunity, by name. The only filter I found for this is "Was Added to Opportunity". Am I on the right path?Do you see any drawbacks in this scenario? Thanks,Georgi

Googlebots are not able to crawl my Marketo landing pages, despite setting the Meta Tag, Robot, to "index, follow". I have been trying to troubleshoot this for over a month now, but still have not been able to fix it.We've checked our CNAME, and verified it with our account manager during the initial setup. He said it works correctly on their end, so the CNAME shouldn't be the cause. However, it just won't index despite all our efforts.According to Google Webmaster, Googlebot can't access my site due to a DNS issue. According to their FAQs for Crawl Errors - DNS, they can't communicate with the DNS server, or the landing page servers have no entry for the site. Has anyone encountered this issue, and/or figured out a solution? Thanks,Cindy

Hi.. I've found several discussions on this subject, but it's not clear to me yet if I can operate on Marketo-Only custom objects through the SOAP API (operate as in insert, update and delete data)What is clear to me is that we can not "create" a custom object, and that custom objects (Marketo-only) are not "listed" through the API. We are trying to create a solution similar to Informatica Cloud, where the user will need to describe his custom object in order to be able to operate against it.But, as I said, it's not clear what operations Marketo allows on custom objects... anyone can clarify this?Thanks...JP

I have about 1000 leads in Marketo that were uploaded from a list import without email addresses.  If I then find some of these email addresses, let's say 500, how do I import this new list without creating duplicates in Marketo, since it matches on email address? (and  it's way too many to update these leads one by one)Any feedback on how to import this without creating duplicates would be great -

I'm reviewing vendors and would really appreciate some feedback since I am new to Marketo.  Thanks!

Hi, When a lead fills out a form, I push to Salesforce with the following flow: - If inferred Country equals United Kingdon (Example) then assign ownership to EMEA Queue. The lead is created and synced to Salesforce, but no alert is sent by Salesforce to the Queue.   I am thinking because the lead is being assigned to a queue before reaching Salesforce, that Salesforce is not triggering an email to the queue members. And yes, the button send to queue members is checked. I know I can do some work arounds to make this work, but I am trying to keep it simple and for the Salesforce piece to work as expected. Anyon else have this issue with assignments to queue from Marketo? Thanks, Jason

We are planning to purchase a list of German records, however, based on German laws, these lists do not come if email addresses. Our inside sales/telemarketing team is going to call down on these and hopefully get the email addresses, but trying to figure out the best way to house this list for inside sales call down activity. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to do this?I'm thinking spreadsheet is probably the best bet and then uploading it into Marketo, but any suggestions would be great.

I kept having issues with a field value option (for unsubscribing) of "Don't recall signing up". It kept populating as "Don". I messed with it a while and if I make it "Do not recall...", it all populates correctly.Has this happened with anyone else (the apostrophe issue)? Thanks!

Can I use the WebEx unique URL token as the hyperlink on a button image?  We include the link token in the "Thank You" email but also have a big WATCH button.  I'd like to be able to use that unique URL as the hyperlink for the button.  I read another article that said this is possible as long as the token has no spaces in the name.  This default token does.  Any ideas? Thanks,Rich

Is it possible for me to pull the user's email address (as it stands in the DB) from the Marketo cookie on their system?I would like to write some code that basically says:IF (an email address is found in the Marketo cookie) {     echo $email;}else {    echo "not found";}

Or is there a recommended blogging platform to use?

I have an existing Stream triggered to go every Thursday 10am with the cadence setting, been running for a couple of months.I added a new program yesterday Wednesday (I am in Australia) at around 8.00am to the stream. The included program I thought would have triggered around 10am today Thursday. While just doing some further work I noticed the included program actually triggered and sent an email on Wednesday at 9.05am.It appears the program has not followed the stream cadence at all.My question is when you add a program to an existing stream should it not be triggered only by the cadence of the stream?

One of my Sales Reps wants to see a list of all of his leads that have unsusbscribed this year, which is easy enough, but he wants to take it a step further and see exactly what they unsubscribed from. I have the email report in Analytics that shows the number of opens, clicks unsubscribes, etc for each email campaign, but it doesn't allow you to drill down into those numbers to see the "who" (at least not that I can find).  Does anyone know if there's currently a way to see a list of leads who unsubscribed with the specific email they unsubscribed from? Thanks! Ariana

How do I create a Smart List of all leads not synced to Salesforce? Thanks

How do you get labels inside the actual field? It's much cleaner and takes up less space on the landing page.Like this:
