Workfront Fusion

I am helping to put together documentation on why and how Fusion could help my company.  Is there a Fusion Scenario cookbook (similar to the reporting cookbook or agile reporting cookbook) or list of examples of what people have used Fusion for...specifically for automation scenarios?   I know there is a short list of Fusion Blueprints and I've dug through the community, but I'd love to hear how people are really using the tool.  I don't need the details on how to implement it, just some higher-level topics and ideas on how Fusion has helped you.   Some items on my automation list so far: Complex intake queue routing Capture time stamp on custom project status change Auto populate fields based on another field's answer Project audit trails on calculated fields Create baseline on status change Convert request/issue into project based on custom field selections Using a naming convention, prefix object name When a task actually completes, auto update planned start of

I have used fusion to create a single proof document out of 5 separate image docs in a project. The proof exits in the proofing module but I cannot find a way to associate the proof to a document (a dummy since there isn't a 'single' doc) in Workfront. All suggestions gratefully received.Stuart

I guess what I want to do is fairly simple but can't figure out how to do it and there is not much documentation with examples to help me out.   I want to take the string "John Smith" and split it at the space and create two variables 1) firstName: John 2) lastName: Smith   cannot fot the lifge of me figure out how to get this to work. Have tried splitting the string then using get to pull out the first and last items in the array but to no avail. Any help is much appreciated.   Thanks

When we created our Custom form (last year), we utilized a manually entered field to share data across teams/systems. It is static in Workfront. However, since then the Rich Text fields have been added allowing far more characters, which is crucial for us as we move forward. Is there an easy, straightforward way to do a single transfer of the data from one field to the other so I can actually remove the original, outdated field? As I said, we manually edit these, so it can't just be textmode pulling info in. I've never created anything myself in Fusion, and am hoping as this is straightforward that it shouldn't be too difficult. If you can direct me to help me narrow down documentation/training for this use case, that would be amazing.   Thank you!!

Hi,   I'm pretty new to Fusion.  I'm going through the Fusion online tutorials, and I'm stuck at one of the early practice exercises (additional practice work where the solutions aren't documented).   This particular exercise directs users to clone the Beyond basic mapping walkthrough scenario (consisting of 3 modules--download a list of project info; parse the CSV document; create projects based off of the parsed data) and then modify it to add a task to each project created.  Here's the tutorial page.     The mapping panel shows that the third module yields the WF ID of each project that is created.  However, I'm unsure how to map to this ID when creating the task records. Could someone please point me in the right directions?  Thanks in advance.  

Hi Fusion Community,Fusion is running into an error when trying to update a custom field, based on a formula I've inputted.  See the following screen shot.   It appears that Fusion throws an error when trying to populate a value in this formula field because the formula references a couple fields that are blank. Is there an easy way to account for blank values in those fields so that the formula treats them like zeros instead of blanks?  They are manual-input fields that can have a value or be blank.   This is the error I'm receiving: Invalid number in parameter 'DE:Last Month’s Revenue to be Recognized'.   Thanks, Nick    

Hi WF Fusion Community, Sorry for posting this twice - I posted in the regular WF community, and then realized this specific Fusion community exits 🙂   I'm looking to get the sum value from a specific custom field (Amount__c) based off of one or many bundles, per program.   Example: There 2 Billing Records over in Salesforce associated to WF Program A.  I grab this data with a Salesforce (search with query) module.  See screenshot called "Get Billed Overage from SFDC". It pulls over the Amount field value from those Billing Records.  In this example, let's say the Amount value for Billing Record #1 is 114,000, and the Amount for Billing Record #2 is 4,500.  See screenshot A, attached. Then, I have an Iterator module that looks at the Billing Records from the above Salesforce module (search with query), and groups bundles by Salesforce Asset ID (an asset has a 1-1 relationship with a program).  See attached screenshots called "Iterator" and "I

Our Global Translation team has a singular large project template with parent tasks for each language. Each language has varied child tasks associated with it. The current process is that they bulk remove the unnecessary languages per project. Is there a way fusion can remove the tasks based on a multi-select custom form drop down selection? Example: Someone needs their document only in EN and DE, so FR, KR, JP tasks can be removed from the template.    Thank you!

Hi, I created a custom form with a dropdown component, for the dropdown options I need to get from other sources (not hardcode), for example from a database.   I can use Fusion to connect a database table and get the options data, but how should I update the dropdown component with Fusion.   Thanks.

Hi Fusion Community,I'm looking to determine when users change the Revenue Type field on a task.  I have a Fusion scenario set up, that accomplishes more than just the Revenue Type state change, but I don't see Revenue Type listed in the New State or Old State sections of the watch event module (any time a task is updated).   Does anyone know how I can reference new and old states for Rev Type? Good morning! Have some new business requirements that are just starting to get figured out and wanted to start investigating some workflow options between Workfront and Bynder; essentially when a project is complete we'd want to publish the finalized documents to the DAM.  Unlike the Workfront connector that interprets the custom fields it finds in the service and allows us to map values to those fields, the Bynder connector doesn't seem to know what taxonomy has been implemented in the Bynder service.  There is a method to GET the metaproperties, but I'm not finding a straight-forward solution to set those metaproperties.   I suspect it it is to be done within the Upload Asset or Update Asset Metadata module where I do see a section for metaproperties.  I am just struggling to find the right format for that field.  The default value there is a comma separated list of GUIDs that correlate to a group of built-in metaproperties, so I imagined I could just add ot

Hi all,I have built a scenario where I have fusion create several new programs below all of our portfolios (~300 programs to be created once a year). The programs are all basically a copy of already existing programs (previous year), with minor changes to the name and a few custom fields. However, I can't seem to find a way to copy the sharing settings for the program (Program Access). Does anybody have experience in copying the sharing settings from one object to another object of the same type using Fusion?   br Peter

I am attempting to use the Adobe Fusion switch module. I feel like it is not working properly but the documentation on how it works is pretty lacking.   If I have a Case that evaluates to true; I assume the output of the switch module would be the output for that case. However it seems my switch module always outputs the else regardless of whether there is a case that is evaluating as true. Can anyone explain how this is supposed to work?  

I've been searching for this and so far, no luck - so while I keep searching, I figured let's ask a question to the hive mind    Has anyone solved this need with Fusion and WF and Outlook 365:  Where if a user has their Out of Office setup in Outlook, Fusion could poll Workfront's user list against the Outlook client.  And if a date is found in Outlook append their Workfront Time off screens?     My educated guess is this would require too much overhead within Fusion - especially where Outlook has an exponentially larger data set of users than Workfront would have; So, Fusion would need to be the starting point from Workfront and then "ask" Outlook does this user have any days off.  Which leads to a data table to track what days it has already checked.      Just typing this out makes it seem over complexed.   And I can't connect to the HR system for security issues.       ALT Idea - has anyone used a r

Does anyone know why custom statuses won't populate in fusion to update a record with? Only the legacy system options show as available to update a record a with.   I need to use fusion to update the status of a record but my status option won't populate in the list. Is there a work around for this?       

My company currently uses Workfront for managing the work specifically being produced by our in-house Digital Creative team. We will be rolling the tool out to other areas of the business but a bigger intiative for us is to implement a PIM and DAM. Wondering if anyone has any experience using Workfront to manage the work while also using a PIM and DAM for managing the data.

I am trying to update DOCV metadata via Fusion, following the code here https://developer.workfront.com/otherD.html#get-/docv/metadata but I'm getting an error saying "[422] APIModel V13.0 does not support field data (DocumentVersion)".  I've tried with the various API version options with the same result.  I'm trying to update the externalStorageID using this JSON code(following the guide above)  {"data":{"externalStorageID":{"url":"{{36.value}}"}}}  where 36.Value is input from an upstream module that contains URL to go into the externalStorageID.   Any clues, anyone.   Best regards Stuart
