Workfront Fusion

Is it possible to use a date wildcard in Fusion. For instance, if I wanted change the planned start date of a task to 3 days from today, or maybe backdate a project start date to last week? Can we use the date/time functions to do this?

I have a scenario that uses a create record module to post an update to an issue that is awaiting approval to remind the approver they have a past due approval. I would like to make some words bold, italic, etc. I've tried rtf code, bb code and html tags. None work. If I create some text in an rtf text editor and paste it in, it holds the formatting though. Are there codes I can type in to the update test box to format the update?

Does anyone know how to create hyperlinked text in Fusion? My goal is to send an email with a link to a newly created Task. It would be something like Task: New Task Name (New Task Name would be a string from a form that becomes the task name) ... where the hyperlink is something like: https://instance.my.workfront.com/task/[FUSION TASK ID VARIABLE]/overview I can create the text of the link. I have that down. But how do I make use it to encode a hyperlink? Worst case, how can I make the link itself clickable, if I can't encode the Task Name?(ex. https://instance.my.workfront.com/task/[FUSION TASK ID VARIABLE]/overview)

I have a scenario that looks for changed field value "Job Number" and then adds it to the beginning of the Project Name resulting in "ABC123456 Name Of Project". All good. But if a user changes the job number later on, I end up with "XYZ456789 ABC123456 Name Of Project". It adds the new job number without deleting the old one. I added a router and a filter "if oldTextVal=notExists" then concat the job Number & Name. And another path that says "if oldtextVal=Exists" then... here I would like to undo the original concatenation by reverting the job name to the "old state" before concatenating the new job number with the original job name. I can't figure out a way to get the old job name before the job number was added. I can't do "oldTextVal" without another field watch and it won't let me watch 2 fields in one scenario. Any ideas?

Where do we add the IGNORE module in a particular flow? Does it matter where?

This seems like something Fusion should be able to do, but I'm pretty new to the tool and haven't been able to figure it out. I know there are apps that let you create baselines on a recurring basis, but can Fusion do this?

I have a working solution that I am looking to simplify or make more efficient. There are times that a module will return a single record (Project) either through a Search Record module or a Custom API call module. In this example, I'm using both: a Custom API call so I can include parameterValues in the fields list; followed by a Search Record (for the same project) where I map the parameterValues collection that was returned in the response of the API call to the Outputs field of the Search Record module. This creates a dynamic way to pull in all of a project's custom data in the Search Record module without having to hard code the output selections. In this example, the record that is returned is a single bundle, and that bundle is a list of items (name, ID, DE:this, DE:that). What I need to do is iterate through that list of items, not knowing in advance which DE:fields may or may not be in the list. (I'm using contains on the name to determine if actions should or sho

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but I was wondering... Can you block/stop a notification from sending when a action is executed in Fusion that prompts a email notification by default?Use case:I have an automation running that, if the project owner job role matches the task assigned to job role, it auto-populates with that owner's name. This works great at project creation because the status is in planning and no notifications are sent. However, when the project is already in current, and the owner attaches a new template with tasks that match their job role, they get emails to alert them of the assignment. Not a big deal, but pretty annoying, right? Can I stop those notifications? Something like, if the assigned to ID matches the owner ID, then don't send a notification. I highly doubt this can be done without just turning off the notifications completely, but I will be interested to hear if anybody may have a clever way around this. Thanks guys!

Hello, We are facing a challenge around the complexity of work and as we were working through this problem, I thought that asking the phenomenal brain power in this group could also shed some light or thoughts on this problem. It is also a good Friday-style thinking problem (maybe that is just me). The problem statement is seemingly simple on the surface: Generate a list of tasks with cross-project predecessors and determine the impact of changes when one or more tasks change across projects. Now, it does not appear that you can access the predecessor tables directly in fusion or in a custom API call as they are linked to tasks themselves. And when you are building a report in standard Workfront, this is a perfect use case for the EXISTS filter whereby you can at least get a list of tasks that have a cross-project predecessor relationship. Hey guys! The use case here is pretty straight forward. We want to have any new updates or uploaded documents on the issue automatically move or copy to the resolve project. I am probably over engineering this because I am running into a myriad of problems when trying to do this. Here are a few I cannot get passed: The Filters. - I only want the resolve project to update with issue data (comments and documents) if it is brand new, not anything that previously existed. I think just a simple entry date filter may suffice. IF entry date = $$today, then pass through. How do you use a date wild card in Fusion?Copying Issue Notes to the Resolve Project. - I have tried using a update record and a create record module. Both of these just seem to duplicate the updates on the issue and they don't push to the resolve project. Hello all I have a scenario that starts with an instant watch for new document versions being created. It gathers Version ID, Document ID, name etc. The next module gathers document-level data. The trigger runs ok and the version and document IDs are shown in the execution inspector but the second module fails saying the document ID doesn't exist. Also, when I use the document id shown in the execution inspector and search for that in Workfront, it's not found but when I use the document name from the trigger module, it is found, but it has a different document id to that shown in the execution inspector of the trigger module. My mapping of the document id from the trigger module to the read module is correct so I'm a bit stumped. Does Workfront do something odd with document ids in the background? Hi Everyone I am trying to set up a Watch Events trigger pointed at Document Version. When I try to save this I'm getting an error : "The request failed due to failure of a previous request. > Function 'constructWatchFilterParameters' finished with error! Hi everyone Has anyone used Fusion to set the value of a multi-select field in Jira cloud? I have a scenario that creates a job in Jira, but one of the Jira task fields is a multi-select field. I cannot pass the raw value and I cannot pass the "12345:array" value either. If anyone has done this it would be brilliant to know how yo did this. All the best Stuart

Hey guys.. We were just wondering if anyone leverages the Salesforce integration through Fusion and if so, what are some of the benefits and risks of the connection? How difficult is the setup and maintenance of the connection?

I'd like to display a custom form on the Document Details screen. I cannot do this manually through the Project Template because I'd need to load a document to the template to access the menu to add the form, and then it would appear only in the Custom Forms screen of the document, not the Details screen. I also tried Darin's custom API to display the form (which works brilliantly on tasks) but it comes up with an invalid parameter for the form ID (even though it's correct), so I'm now wondering if this is possible at all. I'm trying something new with my projects and setting them on a new milestone path to better align our product development schedule. Because of that, I need to update a few thousand active tasks to adhere to the milestone path. Since we use templates, I can easily create a report to pull the specific tasks that need to be edited but you cannot bulk edit task milestones in WF.I'm hoping one of you savvy folks already has a Fusion scenario you're willing to share.

Hi All So i find myself a bit stuck with using the "In" operator. Fusion 2.0 suggests i should do this as i want to find all Projects that are either "AWA"" or "PLN" (I am aware my screenshot only shows "PLN" at present) What i cant seem to figure is how to do this in the above module? There will be several other "AND Rules" statements to follow this. I have written countless API queries and always end up going down the road of something like: proj/search?status=AWA&status=PLN&status_Mod=in So how can i replicate this using the "In" operator as above? Hi All, I have a situation where I am using one project for two different teams. "Team B" needs to restrict visibility (task access) from "Team A" ( which will include the project owner). I can accomplish within Workfront by removing the inherited permissions from the task, then removing the project owner from the resulting list. Ive been told that fusion can accomplish this process as well, however I have not been able to figure out exactly how to do it. Also I know it is not typically a best practice to hide tasks from a Project Owner, however "Team B" is insisting that this be done because there are steps within their workflow that are internal to that the team. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have been trying to create a scenario where I pull data from a custom form on a new issue and create multiple bundles from the same form. Here's a screenshot. I want the input with multiple similar data points to output multiple bundles. Is that possible?

We're new to Fusion, implemented earlier this year. We made immediate progress in automating a number of repetitive steps/errors that happen when new projects are created by our PM team. They've started to pick up on how it works, and we're getting requests for customizations for particular client/project needs as well. For some clients, we do a high volume of repetitive work, so customizations absolutely make sense. What I'm looking to understand is if there are any best practices for structuring the scenario design so we can track what happens, when and where before we make a mess. Ex - today I have a 'New Project Setup' scenario that executes a collection of checks/updates that we want run on every single project. Then we built one for a specific high-volume client that does another lengthy collection of steps but also triggered by a new project. I see a world coming where I have a lot of these, so I'm looking for ideas on corralling them all. Any watch-

I keep getting an "Invalid Login Attempt" error. I am using the NS sandbox and have full admin rights in it.

I have used the JIra create record module to create a task and that works fine but when I attempt to create a sub-task, there is no-where in the execution builder to put the parent key. If anyone has done this it would be great to know how. Best regards, Stuart Cairns

We have several webhooks which successfully receive HTML files via POST (using JQuery) to Fusion Webhooks. We are now developing a new scenario where we want to submit image / text / ics files to a Fusion webhook. No problem sending from Postman, so we know the 'structure' of the post is right, but as soon as we use JQuery we get the following error: Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://app.workfrontfusion.com/wh/XXXXX' from origin 'https://XXX.XXX.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: The 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header has a value 'https://app.workfrontfusion.com' that is not equal to the supplied origin. I'm hoping there's someone out there who's run into this already and knows the solution - my suspicion is that it has something to do with the fact that it's Multipart form data - but the documentation is a little unclear on exact requirement / structure
