Hi,Is there is any possibility to convert the contents from another CMS into AEM content.Please share the way/steps to migrate another CMS content into AEM.Thanks in Advance.

Hi,We have a requirement to implement a trash can layer for AEM Assets. This needs to be functional from both Touch UI and AEM Desktop App.When users delete any assets(either from Touch UI or Desktop App), assets should be moved to a trash layer/folder in DAM(Copy to trash layer and delete asset in the current location). Our DAM users have delete permissions given on all asset folders.Is there any recommended way to achieve this for both Touch UI and Desktop App? Appreciate your help!Thanks,Ramya

From AEM damadmin (Classic UI), one can select an asset, click on tools>references and it shows all the references of where the assets is being used.How to use the same feature from Touch UI?

I have a page whose title is being set to, let's say, "foo".I have a component contained within that page (across all the 3 pages referenced, really) who contains 3 links. I'm attempting to compare the _page-leve_ property title with the _component-level_ property linkXtext:<a href="mypage1.html" class="tab ${properties.jcr:title==properties.link1text ? Hi,I have a huge amount of assets and I wanted to migrate assets from 5.6.1 to 6.3Is it OK, If I use WEBDAV method to copy assets from 5.6.1 server and throw in 6.3 DAM ?Or do I need to use CRX2Oak Migration Tool to do this?Because we have cq:tags on each of assets, and I need to have this property all the time. If I use WEBDAV method will it be OKAY to achieve this? Or If I use CRX2Oak Migration Tool will the cq:tags property won't affect?Which method will be good and easy?Please suggest.Thanks!

Hi Guys,We have a publish instance with a URL of dams.<companyname>.comBy default this loads dams.<companyname>.com/assets.html which results in the following error:Resource at '/libs/dam/gui/content/assets.html' not found: No resource foundCannot serve request to /assets.html on this serverApache SlingIdeally we want it to authenticate the user if they are not logged in and then load the asset page.I have changed the Day CQ Root Mapping value in the OSGi to login.html which redirected the user to the login page but ended up getting messy with what looked like a redirect loop. Although users were authenticated they were confused with a browser error.Not sure how to fix this.Any help is greatly appreciated.

     Hi we are right now in AEM 6.2  We have been implementing client context for components to author and display different page content for different scenarios.     In the Same way we are looking into options like having metadata of the pdf also in client context. something like different metadata values of the same pdf for different scenarios.Example: When a user of a paritcular state logs in we show metadata specific to that state.                   When another user with a different state logs in we show completely different authored metadata specific to that state.So, Is it possible to have different Metadata's for a pdf using clientcontext? Is not possible using client context are there any other ways to achieve this result?

I've been following tutorial of below link.The assets like style page and toy story asset are downloaded as a folder and not as zip. I tried compressing to zip and formed a zip but the package manager doesn't accept it. The error message is [Zip File is not a content package. Missing 'jcr_root']. But the jcr_root file is right there. This page:  Creating and Configuring Asset Share and Asset Editor pages  says this:  Note:Asset Share is not available anymore, but a new reference implementation is available as open source project on Package Share.Is this in reference to the "share asset" function here: Asset link sharing  or is it referencing asset share pages?     The Package Share link referenced in the "Note" points to the old Geometrixx sample sites files.  Both Asset link Share and Asset Share pages work on our 6.3 instance and are used.  What exactly does "Asset Share is not available anymore" really mean?Very confusing way to do something poorly.Jim P

Hi, I need to display who the asset was downloaded by in asset reports. Is there any way to add 'Downloaded by' in configure columns of the reports?-Arman 

Hi All, There are two fields associated with Assets: “Expires” (in Advanced Tab) and “Off time” (under Basic Tab) for TOUCH UI. Off-Time: Setting the value for this field, un-publish the content when date reaches and for “Published” Status it says “Not Published”. This is confusing as if asset is unpublished or not published at all Status is  same. Expires: When the time is reached for this field, Status come as “Expired” for Status tab but the content is not deactivated. Why do we have two separate fields as it is creating confusion? Does “Expires” field holds more importance in AEM? Kindly suggest If anyone has done some more analysis around this.

Is there a link available to the AEM Assets Sizing Calculator?  There was one provided as part of a lab during Summit 2017 but it doesn't appear that this tool is available online to use?

We have a requirement to make author enter a set of mandatory metadata info on Asset upload and if they dont enter it, the Asset shouldn’t be uploaded. Is there any known implementation of such a use case?Maybe instead of the upload form, we show a browse button + the mandatory fields and popup an upload form on drag/drop.just to be clear, the mandatory fields are to be updated not after upload by opening up the properties. Any suggestions or examples?

I have some issues with the new 3D assets supported format.Firefox on Pc is very slow to display 3D content (some minutes) however it's less than few seconds on Mac.Ascii fbx files shows a "text" as thumbnail instead of a rendered preview image.I can't modulate the normal map intensity (via editing the shader in fbx)Objects looks like "mirror" in "Helipad Stage"Do someone have the same issues?JM

I just did an in place upgrade of the my AEM 6.1 Environment to AEM 6.3. After i did the upgrade, i am trying to generate AssetID's for the existing Assets.But when i invoke the migrateAllAssets in the JMX console under com.day.cq.dam, it is not finding any assets.In the logs all i can see is :com.day.cq.dam.core.impl.jmx.AssetMigrationMBeanImpl 0 existing assets migrated successfully...finished.But i can see that there are assets in the DAM and they have also been activated. Any ideas why it is happening

I want to added a custom field that can show/hide a set of fields similar to Accordion or create a composite multi field. Generic use case can be to add : Multiple  Address[with Multi[Address lines],state,city and county] as metadata.Please suggest if we have any documentation or clear step to create a custom multi-multi feild into this Form. I like to execute a command line programm as a DAM workflow. I tried to implement the ImageMagic example from here: Best Practices for Configuring ImageMagick :I addded a new Workflow Model,added "command line" from the "DAM Workflow" list.In the Argument tab set Mime type to "image/jpeg" (even tried wihtout Mime type)and in Commands: `"C:\Program Files\ImageMagick-7.0.7-Q16\magick.exe" convert ${file} -flip ${file}-flipped.jpg` (instead of `magick convet ...` because in another discussion using an absolute path instead of global name helped people Re: CommmandLineProcess : ImageMagick) I then added a luncher. And uploaded an Image to the DAM.In the workflow > instances overview, i see that the workflow was started, it's running and the command line job is set to active.Unfortunantly this state is never chnaged and no new asset is generated via imageMagic.I even tried replacing the command with something simple like "ren C:\test\foo.txt bar.txt" which renames a local file. But the options in the build form section are limited as shown belowWe have a requirement where we have to link existing dam assets to pages/third party websites. I have a txt file in my Assets folder.I mistakenly clicked Edit on it.I get the message: " The Manuscript Editor is now deprecated. Redirecting to the new Content Fragment editor..."The document asset now shows up as a Content Fragment. It is no longer an "asset". How do i get out of this mode?I noticed that in CRX/DE, the item now has a "model" node. Deleting the model node on this asset causes the *entire* assets folder to not show any previews.

HiI am adding additional metadata on asset creation with the help of a workflow. the work flow gets triggered when the original node of an asset is created. When I upload the same asset there are options to Keep Both, Version and Replace. The work flow is getting triggered on replace also. How can i identify the replace event on an asset in a workflow. Or is there any other way to prevent this process step from running on a replace event

Hi all! I am pretty new to CQ5 and I could use a little help. My company currently uses GIFs to illustrate the content. I would like to move away from GIFS (heavy, bad quality) and use HTML5 animations instead. Right now I am trying to incorporate Adobe Edge output into a page. iframe works, however, the tech writers want it to be in the DAM - reusable. What are my options? Thank you all very much! Also, it would be nice to know if it's possible to attach (embed) an external JS and CSS to a single page in CQ5.
