Adobe Experience Manager Forms

While following the http://labs.6dglobal.com/blog/2015-03-09/oak-index-packages/  author said you will see the "WARN " message : consider creating an index or changing the queryWhen running a query with no index defied.  I am  traversing less than 100 nodes for my query and using Predicate Evaluators. I don't see the message when I run the query without an index  , does that mean  I should not consider creating an index ? .

Hi,There are 3 distinct types of forms, that could be created in AEM Forms; HTML Form, PDF Form and Adaptive Form.1. When we select "Create Adaptive Form" in the Forms interface, we are creating an Adaptive Form, which is completely different from HTML and PDF forms.What if I create a form using Designer, upload the xdp in the Forms interface and use that as a Model?Will it become a PDF Form?2. How to create HTML and PDF Forms?Appreciate your responses.Thanks,Rama.

I have to install a AEM Forms 6.2 at a RHEL 7 Linux machine. According to documentation (https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/aem-forms/6-2/prepare-install-single-server.pdf section "Installing Acrobat for PDF Generator") Acrobat DC Pro has to be installed for the PDFGenerator. But as far as I can see this is not possible since Acrobat DC Pro is only available for Windows and Mac platforms. So my question is: does Acrobat DC Pro exit for Linux and if not what should I do with the PDFGenerator in an Linux environment in the context of AEM Forms 6.2?Looking forward to your answer.Regards, Fin Steenbjerg

Hi team,Need help on my following queries in AEM forms 1. PDF forms can be filled offline, saved locally, and form data sent when you are next online.Do HTML Forms possess the same functionality? 2. HTML5 browser-based forms can be viewed on both mobile devices and desktop browsers.Could PDF forms also be viewed on both mobile devices and desktop browsers? 3. I see that Adaptive forms is the third type of forms.Does it mean that PDF and HTML5 forms are not adaptive? 4. As per AEM forms documentation (https://helpx.adobe.com/aem-forms/6-2/html-workspace-overview.html), AEM forms workspace is used to manage processes and tasks that forms can be associated with. However it's not fully clear what these processes are. Are these the ones created using Livecycle workbench? If so, would forms workspace also require LC connector to be able to access process / task data?If that's the case, Can these processes be hosted in AEM too? Or it can only be done in Livecycle and requires a Livecycle server to be running every time?Regards,- Aashay

Do we have any Designer component in AEM to generate PDF documents Offline similar to ALC Designer(ES2/ES4)? Intention is to create a PDF document in AEM without creating an Adaptive form?

I have 6.2-quicktart.jar file and licences.properties.I created  empty crx-quickstart folder and in it another folder install folder.I copied my package in the form of zip file and copied in install folder.and run it java -jar cq-quickstart-4502.jarAlthough packages are displayed  in package manager but some files are not completely created.if i reinstall the package in package manager tab ( manually) they completely installed.Problem is that : i have many package i cannot do manually. so why it does not not uploaded completely which i performed earlier(install folder approach)

Has anyone used AEM Forms to submit the XML from the form to HBase via the HBase APIs on the submit action? If so any advice on how to do this?

I have a text field on the master page that reads "Please see reverse of the document". I would like this field to be visible on all the pages except the last one. How do I control it from not getting displayed on the last page of the document? Document can be of 3 pages, 5 pages or 10 pages depending on the data that comes from the external java application. Any help is appreciated. 

I am currently using ALC ES2. Planing to generate a responsive form output, but looking for ways to generate as HTML5 so that the content can be viewed across devices(Mobile,Tablet,Desktop/Laptop).So in order to achieve this what is the best way to proceed. Do i need to first migrate from ALC ES2 to ES4 and then to AEM Forms 6.2 or else directly recreating all of them in AEM 6.2 forms ?

I'm testing my form with several users. I have one user reporting that when she opens my form in Adobe Acrobat DC, the red boxes around the mandatory fields show right away, instead of when she clicks the check form button I have on the form. None of the other users are seeing this. Does anyone know a fix?

Hi,I tried to change the font color of static text using:xfa.resolveNode("test").caption.font.fill.color.value = "0,0,0";orxfa.resolveNode("test").font.fill.color.value = "0,0,0";Neither resulted in black text.Am I getting it wrong?Does anyone have an idea how to change the font color of static text?Regards,Steve

So one of the concepts that makes object oriented design and programming powerful is reusing components/objects. The idea is create it once, make it solid, then reuse it over and over again.Where I'm at is that we have a form fragment that defines an address. The binding and name are defined in the fragment for the individual fields. The problem is that I have a form that uses this fragment over and over for different address types. The problem is that the binding and the name of the field is always the same and when one address is filled in, the value is propagated to all of the other fragments. This used to work better in 6.1 but in 6.2, all of the fragments become the same control. One way to get around this is to create a fragment for each address type but that loses all of the advantages of OOD.Is there a way to override the binding from the parent form level so that the child fragments' binding can be changed as the form is built? I want to understand how I can use AEM forms (6.1 without any additional  license. )  My aim is to create a form in AEM and on submission pre-process the data  before submitting it to the external system. Can some one please point to right tutorial(s) for AEM forms ? 

I'm noticing that in 6.2, the binding that is built for the form items doesn't match the id of the items. When I use the id returned by calling var anId = $(this).parents('.guideFieldNode').data('guideViewBind') then take the returned id and then call guideBridge._resolveId( anId ), it does not find the element. The id for the element in the page does not match the id created in the guideBridge._guide._modelTemplateCasheStore._modelIdCache list of items. When the components are built in the JSP page, the binding is done using the ${guideid} variable. This id is very different that the id that is in the cache. Any idea what I need to do in order to fix this?

Hi All,I want to customize submit action of the  adaptive form such that on submit, I want to capture the field’s value and want to pass these value to Sling Servlet. I am unable to call java script function (Ajax) in  post.POST.jsp file to pass value to the Sling Servlet.Please help me on this.

I've got a form set up which includes text fields, image fields and buttons which "jump" users to other pages on the form.  The form behaves exactly how i want it to... ie is editable and has been populated with content by the client.  I now want to lock the text and image fields but preserve the functionability of the buttons, allowing other users to view, ideally copy and paste content, and navigate around the form without being able to edit it. I thought i could do this by password protecting it in Acrobat, however this also disables the buttons.  Is there another way to do it?  I saw mention in another thread of being able to lock down the text fields but i don't understand how this is done.Thanks for your help!Michael

Hello All, I would like to do a simple email validation, the built in email validation pattern(text{OOOOOOOO'@example.com'} ) is not really useful. What is the best to validate an email in the form which was built using livecycle designer. Is there any other pattern I can use? My requirement is simple, the email should contain ‘@’ and a dot, something like ( xxx@xxx.xxx) Any help is much appreciated. Thanks and regards,
