Hi,I have a formcalc field, total_gross_weight, use to sum up all the gross_weight field input by user. Its requirement are:Case: total_gross_weight decimal place must be able change dynamically according to user input in the gross_weight field. eg: gross_weight_1 + gross_weight_2 + ... = total_gross_weight 1.001 + 2.000 + 3.000 = 6.001 (3decimal) - success1.0012 + 2.000 + 3.000 = 6.0012 (4decimal) - success1.000 + 2.000 + 3.000 = 6. - FAIL. (it should be 6.000)  I can make it change dynamically but i cannot retain the minimum trailing zero.how can i show the minimum trailing zero, and still can be dynamic? Seeking for advice.Thank you.

We have a requirement to convert large tiff files in full text PDF. I can use the following code to convert small size files, but with a large size file I am seeing a timeout issue.ALC-PDG-10010-000: com.adobe.livecycle.generatepdf.client.ConversionException: ALC-PDG-010-010-The conversion has timed out.

Hi,I created a simple form with Livescycle and even if when i look at the PDF with adobe reader, i can see enought privilege, i cannot really save the content.Basically, i can open the PDF, fill the fields, save the document but when i reopen the document afterward, the content has disapeared. Dear Community Members,I am very new to Adobe LiveCycle, and trying to develop a dynamic form which works for SAP ByD.The Scenarion is I have a table with 8 coloumns in it..On a certain condition two out of 8 fields needs to be hidden (Perfectly done) .Now I have to increse the width of 3rd column width so that table fits in to page printout.I tried doing something on sub form 'initialize' event..$.coloumnwidths = 30mm 30mm 30mm 30mm 30mm 30mm.But it only change the width of first coloumn (Which I dont want to Change) I want to change the width of 3rd coloumn only.A help on this will be highly appriciated..Thanks In Advance.Ashutosh

Hi , I am trying to get the page count for the form i am designing,by using the following on a text fieldthis.rawvalue = xfa.layout.pageCount();  --> i am not sure where to use this (on initialize, layout ready etc) ,i used for both of them and i am not getting any value on the form.my intention is to use this field (with pagecount) to write a formula to show the address if say page count is less than 10 .can somebody point me to the right direction, thanks in advancechristene

Hi,I'm used to Acrobat Pro but new to LiveCycle. I need to hide several pages on a form until a user activates a checkbox. ie/  user clicks on "[x] category one" and the page that contains category one content appears. If the user deselects the checkbox, the page is hidden. ie/ user clears [ ] category one and the page with the content disappears from the user's screen.\i think it's called 'reveal page' but am not sure. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?Thanks!

I'm using Javascript to set the actions. I need to hide a text field if the value of a field in another sub-form is null.- tried checking the value of the other field for null - doesn't work- tried setting a variable str2 where I know the value of the other field is available then checking that variable when I initialize the text field - doesn't workWhat am I missing?

Hi,I know this may not be a proper question in this forum, but it is a PDF form related issue. I need some help in solving my problem in the following scenario:I have a web app processing PDF files. I have PDF fillable forms generated by Lifecycle. User downloads it from my web app, fills out it and sends it back via my web app (upload). I need to parse the form to XML file, then my existing web service will process XML files and save it to database. Previous we used an Email Submit Button and user sent us the XML by email so there was no issue, but now the user just sends us PDF file. So I am looking for a way to get an XML file from PDF file in .NET (C#), just like Email Submit does. First I need know what is the best way to achieve it. Then I need some sample code for it. Your help is greatly appreciated.ThanksSam

Hello,I have an inspection form set up for restaurant/health inspectors.    Often times during an inspection they need to enter temperatures of food and like to use the degree symbol.    They're running this form on a convertible tablet pc, so a normal keyboard is not available to them in tablet mode and when in laptop mode using the combination of ALT+0176 that's still a PITA because the keyboard doesn't have full number pad and the people using this form aren't the most computer literate people out there to be able to activate the Function keys to endable number pad keys and then enter an ASCII code many times during an inspection.I was looking for suggestion on how to inforporate something into the form to assist in entering the degree symbol in any text field they are in at the position of the cursor.The idea's I've though of are:1.) A command button that inserts the symbol, but I'm afraid clicking the button would lose focus of the destination field and there'd need to be a lot of

I have a table with 18 rows. Each of the first 17 rows have read-only text (mandatory activities) in a text field in the first column; the last row is a blank row with an add button so the user can add a new activity to the bottom of the table. I've been asked to allow users to insert a new activity at any location in the table (for example, to insert a new Row 7 after Row 6), instead of just at the end of the table. (Obviously this also requires removing the text from the activity text box and changing it to User Entered, as well as a couple other housekeeping activities, which shouldn't be a problem if I can just get the darn row to insert!)I've searched the forums and reviewed some of Assure Dynamics excellent examples. We have created and launched a number of PDF Forms (created in LiveCycle) for our contacts to download, complete electronically, and email or fax back to us. The problem we are running into is that our email client allows us to only receive files that are 10 MB and smaller. We are finding that many of our PDF Forms that end-users are completing online cannot be emailed back to us because the file size is too large....which creates a problem.How do we troubleshoot this? We cannot seem to optimize in Acrobat because we receive an error message that says, "This PDF contains an Adobe XML form. Such PDFs cannot be optimized."HELP!Thank you!

Hi,I have created some fillable PDF files using Adobe LiveCycle Designer and used Adobe Acrobat Pro XI to save it as Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in and save)…The form includes image, text field, check box, radio button, table and other controls, as well as java scripts behind. The files are from 1 to 3 MB in size. I tried Reduced Size PDF and Optimized PDF, but I got a message: “This PDF document contains an Adobe XML form. Such files cannot be optimized.” My questions are:Is there a way I can reduce the file greatly, say about 100 KB?And after the size reduced,  does it still keep the original quality in format and function?Thanks

Hi, I have a field that ocasionally can contain negative raw values. What happens is, when a negative raw value is fed to the field, the field looks like this:($999.999,00)And I'd like it to look like this:-$999.999,0Any ideas how to do this?, I couldn't find any option in the patterns section.Thanks!.

Hi All, I am facing issue with overflowing table row content. Following is the screenshot of the last page of the form.This is how the form has structured. In the line items table, the column is for the Item Description. contains several fields (8 in number). One of them is batch information.The Batch Information is a text field for which multiple lines have been enabled. The Textfield has been made to expand in height.All the 8 textfields in the "Description" column are wrapped in a flowed subform with page breaks enabled.The Table Body Row is also made to be page break enabled. The Batch Information Text field can contain hundreds of lines, in which case the page should breakand content should flow into the next page. At the end of each page there is a footer element which is a part of the master page.In the image inserted in the discussion question, you can see the expanded subform for "Description" column has overlapped into the Master Page content (Footer Element).Surprisingly it

Hi everyone,I'm trying to modify what the body of the email will look like once the user has pressed an email submit button. In Livecycle designer, I clicked on the button and viewed the xml source. I scrolled down to the following line:               <submit format="xml" textEncoding="UTF-8" target="mailto:test&test.com?subject=My subject"/>Then changed it to:               <submit format="xml" textEncoding="UTF-8" target="mailto:test&test.com?subject=My subject?body=new body"/> When I tested the button, the text "?body=new body" was appended to the subject line instead of being included in the body itself. I wondered if anyone could tell lme where I'm going wrong? Appreciate any help.

I want to have all entered text populated into specific text fields to automatically convert to upper case. I am working in LiveCycle Designer ES2.

I’m hoping someone might be able to help me figure out how to accomplish some things with a repeating table subform in a form I’m building.  I’ve attached the file here.  https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=2nUNZuTf2T4tsdSykMTlXwI have a table (AssessChart1Table) it set up on pg 7 (Analysis) and have built in buttons(AddRowAssesChart1 and DeleteRowAssesChart1) so the user can add or delete additional rows of data as needed.  The problem is that the user also enters data going across in the header row (AssessChart1HeaderRow1) of this table.  There are 10 columns available; however, they may need to add more data than that. Therefore, I made a button (AddMoreCourses) for the user to click to add another instance of the table subform (AssessEvalChart1) and also undo the adding of the subform with this button (UndoAddMoreCourses).In addition, I have it setup that whatever data the user enters into the cell (Prog-DeptObjChart1) cell of that table gets automatically transfe

My form setup is as follows:I have several check boxes overlaid on an image. Each box will have several actions associated to it (more on this in a minute).I have a Table that will take in some data, depending on what check boxes are checked and unchecked.Several things are happening as follows:A table is setup with the following headers and respective rows - vial#(txt), location(txt), area(txt), amount(dropdown), price(dropdown), cost(calculated - eval(amount * price)).When a check box is selected the following actions ensue:location and area are filled with text values [ Condition: when box FR0 is checked;  Result: set value of location to be some text, value of amount to be some text, set vocus on amount ]When a check box is unselected the following actions ensue:all fields are set to null.NOTE: this actions work great with the first checkbox.Now the issue at hand:When the next checkbox is selected, what should happen is this: a new instance of the rows should appear, location

This is something so basic in a word processor...but I cannot figure it out for the life of me. I have a "textbox" which in essence needs to flow over 3 pages. I created the three textboxes...set the source to the same name...now how to I get them to link together so the text can flow from one to the other to the other as text overflows the box?

Is there a script to check if a textfields rawValue contains specific text?For example: If the rawValue is John Smith can I script to test of the rawValue contains "Smith"?
