Adobe Experience Manager Forms

LC ES2 9.0.0I'd like end users of pdf forms to be able to insert working hyperlinks into text fields.  Can this be done?  I tried to create a text field in a form, but the hyperlink only reads as text and not as an active link.  Is there a setting, or special type of field somewhere, either in LC ES or in Acrobat Reader to turn on so this is possible?

Hello all,I am attempting to develop a form in which the binding of the fields is not yet known at design time.What I am trying to do is the following:In the "initialize" event of the form, I have typed the following: HEADER.FIELD.bind.ref = "$record.DATA_IN.SUBFORM.DATA[1].NAME"; HEADER.FIELD.bind.match = "dataRef";"HEADER" is a subform with a text field called "FIELD" in it. What happens is: plain nothing - although there is data in the specified node, the fields remains empty.If I comment out the two lines and put the "$record.DATA_IN.SUBFORM.DATA[1].NAME" directly to the "binding" property, it works just fine. Setting the default binding to "normal" and trying to set it via code does not...Any hints? Am I missing some important step?ThanksDaniel Sattler

Hello Expert,I realy need help urgently. Currently i'm developing SAP Adobe form. User requirement on the Decimal display have 3 type based on the table on SAP. The 3 type of display is as below :A)     1.234.567.89B)     1,234,567,89C)      1 234 567,89I already Have a hidden field in the form which stores the decimal notation from SAP. Now the problem is I cannot convert it to the decimal> i try tu use few way as below :If (formatValue eq "A")then$.rawValue = "num{zzzzzzz9.99endifandIf (formatValue eq "A")then$.rawValue = Format("num{zzzzzzz9.99" &.rawValue)endifbut it seems not working. Can anybody help me out? I'm dying here..:(

Hello,This is my first time here and I have a little problem. I designed the form in the Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.0 and saving it as dynamic PDF. All I want is to fill it out, save a copy of that in hard drive and then email it as a attach file. I don't want any XML data file or any thing else, I want real completed document in PDF. That's all!We can save a copy of completed document in Adobe Acrobat Pro but how we can save it in Adobe Reader?My form is some thing like this (link below), every time you open it in Adobe Reader, it will tell you that "You cannot save data typed into this form." and let you print it.Example: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/grants/sf269.pdfBut at this link http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdfyou can cancomplete this form and save a copy of it into your hard drive with all data typed for ever. Yes by using Adobe Reader! But I have a no idea HOW?Does anybody have any suggestion? Please any help solving these problems would be most appreciated. Thanks again

So I have researched the forum to answer the question of how to make certain fields in a form required if a value is entered in another designated field, and not required if no value is entered in the designated field.For example:There is a field titled QTY_paper, and if a value is entered into QTY_paper, then the field PROGRow1 should become required.If no value is entered into QTY_paper, then PROGRow1 is not required.I've tried both FormCalc and Javascript, but with no results. In FormCalc I added this script as a mouseExit event on QTY_paper:if ($.isNull == 0) then     //Make the budget field Required     PROGRow1.validate.nullTest = "error";endifand then I added this script in FormCalc to the mouseExit event on PROGRow1:if ($.isNull == 0) then$.validate.nullTest = "disabled"endifThis came almost verbatim from another post on the forum, so I'm thinking I'm missing something obvious here... which isn't too odd as I'm still pretty new at adding the scripts. Please help if you can!

Hi!I've got a form here with a bunch (> 100) decimal fields, most of them set to 3 leading and 1 trailing digits (everything else is at its default value).Now I want to create display patterns to simply display in the same way they where entered. The problem is, that a single trailing zero is either added or removed, but never simply taken from the user input. For example:If both the display and edit patterns are set to num{zz9.9}:User enters 123 - display is 123.0 <- wrong User enters 123.0 - display is 123.0 <- correctUser enters 123.4 - display is 123.4 <- correct If both the display and edit patterns are set to num{zz9.z}:User enters 123 - display is 123 <- correct User enters 123.0 - display is 123 <- wrongUser enters 123.4 - display is 123.4 <- correct I've also tried several other pattern combinations, but nothing seems to work. Any idea on how to repair this behaviour? Changing the field type from decimal to something else would be possible, but much work (

Good Day All;I think there might be a simple answer to this, but, I have yet to find it.In a form I have designed I have a drop down box (in a table cell) where the user can select from a number of entries. One of the entries is to long for the amount of space for the field. I am trying to figure out how to get the text to wrap and the cell to expand. I have putting a check mark in the “expand to fit” (under layout tab). This seems to work on the “text” fields  (along with checking off  allow for multiple lines).Is there a way to get the text to wrap in a drop down list?Thanks all Chomp

Hi there,I have made several forms in livecycle designer and extended them in acrobat for use with adobe reader. When users save data in the forms and reopen them it is still there as before. Also if they update the data and save and reopen it is still updated. All good so far. However if they delete data (and leave a field blank) and save and reopen they find that the original (deleted) data is still there. This only seems to happen in text fields inside flowed subforms (Which is most of my fields in most of my forms...). Does anyone have a solution for this?Thanks in advance,Richard

Basically, I would like the text in one text box to be split up to auto-populate other textboxs in my form, each peice of info is separated by a "-".Example:Main Text Box: "Data A - Data B - Data C - Data D"Question 1: Data AQuestion 2: Data BQuestion 3: Data CQuestion 4: Data DBasically I want the user to type/paste something into my main text box, and the data (which is separated by a "-") to be split up and auto filled into the corresponsding text fields below. Hello,I have a subform that is bound to a node in XSD which will have mutilate occurrences at runtime. The subform has just one textfield which prints the name of such item. My form has three pages and I need to use this same subform on Page 1 and Page2. Problem is that it works on Page1 but does not work on Page 2.Form is designed as follows"Page1SubForm -- RepeatingNodeSubformPage2SubForm-- RepeatingNodeSubform.XML is as follows<Employee>     <Name> XXX </Name>     <SSN></SSN>     <DOB></DOB></Employee><Employee>     <Name> YYY</Name>     <SSN></SSN>     <DOB></DOB></Employee>RepeatingNodeSubform on Page1 works fine but on page2 does not display anything. If bound to another repeating node, it works on Page2.What could be an issue? Also, is there any restriction such as on the same form there can not be two subforms bound to the same node?Thanks in advance!

Have been looking for a work around for this problem for awhile now but can't seem to get anywhere. Is it possible to have fonts bigger than 72pt? If not that is a massive fail.

Hi,I'm guessing there's a way to programmatically check if any field has been entered when the form loads.  Some sort of loop should do the trick...I've tried using the following code (from dohanlon for another purpose) which should run through all form fields, but I can't seem to plug it into an if/else statement or even check for any non-null value.  xfa.resolveNodes("form1..#field[*]");Here's conceptually how I'd like to do it:if (xfa.resolveNodes("form1..#field[*\]".rawValue != null  ) {do it}I'm basically trying to check if any field is not null, then I can "do something".  I know I can't use that to check .rawValue but I can't think of anything else.  I would appreciate any help (as always). 

Hi,Need help for the scenario mentioned below:I have a table , the data of which overflows. Below the table i have a subform. When the data in the table overflows to the next page, i need the subform below it to be placed in the same position ie at the end of the page. But when i keep it flowed, it just appends itself to the position where the overflow ends. But instead, i require the subform in a fixed position. Is there any code that i can write to maintain the axes? Please advise.

hello,i was wondering how to create such drop down list action in Adobe Livecycle that when i choose one List Item it shows certain text fields under to it.ie.im having one drop down list that is having 2 List Items 1st is Yes and 2nd is NO.Now, if i want to show some text fields under to it when i choose Yes and hide some text fields when i choose No, what do i have to do?also wanted to know that how to show text fields in popup box when i choose Yes.thanks in advance!

Is it possible to hide the yellow box that appears when you scroll over any object in the form? This box contains the item name or caption.

Is there a way to increase the size of the actual "fill in" marker (default, solid square, check mark, circle, diamond, etc)  used in radio buttons when reendering a form as a static pdf? I know you can always increase the actual size of the radio button itself to increase the marker size, but for some reason the markers are so much smaller in size in static forms vs using the same radio button rendered as a dynamic form. Also, check boxes diuspokay fine, it's just the radio buttons that appear really small.With Acroforms, you can actually increase the marker size by simply increasing the font size of a radio button (even if there is no text/caption attached to the radio field). Doing so will increase the marker size within the radio button while maintaing the same radio button field size.Thanks

Hi,i have a field in the masterpage that i need to hide on some particular pages of a pdf form.the scope is to hide the field called "phone" in an empty pages named "BlankPage"this is my PDF structure:- form1     - (Master Pages)          - MASTER (with the field that i need nto hide: "phone")     - Page1     - BlankPage1     - Page2     - BlankPage2     - ...in the MSF1701.#pageSet[0].MASTER::ready:layout i put something like this but i was unable to make it works: if (xfa.layout.subform.name == "BlankPage") {      xfa.resolveNode("phone").presence = "invisible";} else {      xfa.resolveNode("phone").presence = "visible";}.. i need this kind of solution, please don't tell me to copy "phone" field on every page and calculate the value from the master page thanks

Is it feasible to write code that loops through a table in a form? I'm currently writing separate sections of code for each row of a five-row table to validate data entries.

From a group of choices, I want the user to circle (or an oval) one or more items. How do I do that in LiveCycle Designer 8.0?

I have yet another dumb question.  I have a subform with a field displaying the instance number for that form.  It is in layout:ready this.rawValue = this.parent.index + 1;How do I retrieve the value of that field for use elsewhere on the form?  I have tried getting the value as itemno.rawValue but it does not give me the rawValue.Thanks, Eagle

Hi,I am trying to get text, that has been placed near the end of a page, to break to a new page, but I cannot get this to work.I have a Subform, called FOOTER_TEXTS and containing 3 text fields, just below and outside of the 'MAIN' Content Area and just above a fixed (static) Subform called COMPANY_FOOTER.The JavaScript that you see is just there to ensure that FOOTER_TEXTS gets printed only on the last page.I have all 3 text fields in FOOTER_TEXTS set to 'Allow Multiple lines' and the height is set to 'Expand to fit' but the option to 'Allow Page Breaks within Content' is greyed-out in the Subform and all 3 Text Fields, resulting in the text in Subform COMPANY_FOOTER being overwritten.What I would like is the text from the 3 fields in FOOTER_TEXTS to be printed on the bottom of the last page, just above the Subform COMPANY_FOOTER, and I would like the text to break to another page, if necessary.Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work?Thank you in advance.Kieron KellyS

I'm looking for a way to change color of the font when a certain person reviews the document.  After the document has been signed then the reviewer goes in to make the changes.  Is there a way for when the reviewer types in the changes the text color is different??

I have a field set up as a number. The number is an integer, 9 characters in length. I don't want any commas. I have tried setting the various formats for this field but whenever I enter a number, designer adds the commas as I exit the field. Is there a simple solution to eliminate the commas, or prevent them in the first place?Thanks,Stan
