Adobe Experience Manager Forms

I'm trying to use a button to add a subform. I know I need to have the repeating subform Flowed (which I've done) and I know I need to set the Repeat subform for each data item to Min 1. However, the Repeat subform for each data item is grayed out so I can't select it.What am I doing wrong?Thanks,MDawn

So we just installed LC Rights Management and as I was testing the protection options on my .pdf files and I had my ITS team test out the protection and within 10 minutes they came back to me saying they screen captured images by using the Snipping Tool in Vista and Windows 7. Is there any way or any updates to disabling this feature?Thanks.

I'm trying to create basic if statement for one of the fields. I'm sure the answer to this question is simple, but being new to formcalc (and scripting in general) I am having problems with it.The details:I have a dynamic form in livecycle. The two fields I am having problems with currently are a drop down list, and a text box (not field) associated with it. What is listed in the text box is dependant upon the choice from the dropdown list. So far everything is, functionally, working. I have the formcalc scripting event set to change on the dropdown list with the following scriptif (xfa.event.newText == "Office 1") then     OfficeAddress1 = "123 Street Road #xD Town City, US 12121 #xD (111) 555-1414"endif"Office 1" being the dropdown selectionOfficeAddress1 being the name of the text fieldThe fake address being the address, seperated by carriage return symbols (#xD) to indicate where I want it to jump to the next line.The script is working fine except that the #xD symbols are showing up on the final form. Hello everybody!I'm working with SAP.On my current project I would like to implement a customer form via Adobe Lifecycle Designer.I'm going to ask a developer to implement the following logic:There is a fixed rectangular area in the form. This area should represent a text.In case of long text I would like to reduce the font size to fit the text into the area. It should look like thatText alignment within the area is Horizontal Centered, Vertical CenteredText wrap is onFont is Arial, initial size is 10Is it possible to implement?

It seems all my text boxes i have start the text in the center of the box vertically, then spaces it out as you type more.  is there a way to make it start at the top of the box and work down, just as if you were typing in Word or Notepad.  if someone only types a few lines, it looks kinda odd having the text in the middle of the box with all that white space above and below it.

Is there a way to force a PDF rendered by LC to be downloaded by the HTML client, instead of opened in the browser? When I use the REST url the browser tries to open the PDF and I don't get the download option.

In one portion of a form I'm designing, the user is supposed to enter several numbers in a table, and at the bottom two numbers are automatically calculated for them.I explain in the instructions for the form that some fields are automatically calculated, but I actually do not have room in the actual form to add a note next to every calculated field reminding people of that.  I've added code so that if a user tries to click on the automatically calculated field, a messagebox comes up explaining that the field is automatically calculated.  However, I do not want such a box to come up if someone is just tabbing through the objects on that page.  That would be annoying.What I want is to be able to exclude those two numeric entry fields from the tab order alltogether.  Adobe should just skip those fields when a user tabs through.  I can't figure out how to do that though.  Is there a way?  Other suggestions?Thanks

I know that in order for a subform to have dynamic elements it in, it needs to be flowed, and the form itself needs to be flowed. So, is there a way to put two flowing subforms side by side? I want to have two columns in my form, but I want each column to be flowed and dynamic.

This must be a ridiculously stupid question, because I've tried googling every possible variation of this question and come up with squat.I took a form in excel, converted it to pdf, imported it into LiveCycle, and am trying to add fields where the wizard did not. When I create text fields, it almost always puts in a caption, despite the fact that I don't want one. I can't resize to remove it, and I don't want it, but I don't know how to get rid of it.On a colleague's computer, I was able to create text fields without captions - the caption field in the field properties is just grayed out. In fact, when I pull up a form created on that computer, all text fields I create have no captions. When I create a new document on my own computer, they all have captions again.On an unrelated note, why is it that forms I create in this manner do not have the preview PDF option? It's just grayed out.

In Adobe LiveCycle 8.0, is there a way for me to change the background color of my form?

Hi...I have a form that I'm trying to edit.  There are a bunch of positioned subforms inside of flowed subforms.  I need to change the positioned subforms to flowed to allow the text boxes to grow, but when I do that, all the content in the subform gets messed up and moved all over the place.Is there an easier way to do this without re-creating the form?Thanks!

Hello dear forumI have created a PDF form with several fields (with LiveCycle Designer 8.0). This form should be signed by two different people, thus I have set up two signature fields. However, when the second guy signs, the first siganture becomes invalid - which is not good.I have looked through all kinds of tutorials and such but cannot find the right way to avoid this issue....Any hints?Thanks a lot in advance!    Jens

Hi, I am trying to reset the page numberdynamic page number I am trying to print multiple documents in one report, the requirement is to reset page numbers for every document(to start counting from 1) I don't have control over the size of the document because it is a flow table I am using page conditional break to finish the document and start a new one but I couldn't change the page number or create a counter to use it as page number.I am using ALD 8.1all the design is in the body page the master page is empty. Is there a way to create a counter and then assign it as page number?ORIs there a way to reset the page number back to 1 or 0 ?ORIs there a way to create a counter and reset it when using the conditional break ?I found many solutions but none of them fit to solve this issue, because the dolutions I found were based on fixed number of pages and in my case I can't figgure out the number of pages because it is a flow table.Sami

I’d like to add a watermark to a form I’ve created that will look like a light grey bold text that runs diagonally along the entire pate (not unusual for a digital watermark). My problem is that it seems like Acrobat has this as a built in feature but LiveCycle doesn’t. Initially, I’d prefer vector graphics for a number of reasons. First, I have found that having an image in the background of a form will begin to annoy the user if they’re cursor is in the “selection” mode and not the Hand Tool. Clicking on a blank part of the form will highlight the entire page if the watermark is actually an image behind the form…So here’s what I’ve attempted first: I created the desired watermark text, color, and shape in Word using “word art” to create the graphic. I then saved the blank page with the single graphic to a PDF file. Sadly, this won’t allow me to transfer all of the form geometry and text to this new PDF document as I created the form starting with a blank page and not an existing PDF…

Hi all,I have designed an Invoice.XDP form and connected to a XML/XSD file for data.Now I dragged data fields from DataView to Invoice.XDP form to create required Text Fields.When I generated PDF from LiveCycle OutPut ES service it renders all fields with data.In the Invoice.XDP form some of the fields are required display Richtext /Html content, for those fields I changed object property to "Rich Text" from "Plain Text Only". Even after doing this the formatted text (Richtext /Html) is not displayed and it just displays only raw HTML text tags.I have attached the sample "Invoice_RTF.pdf" generated for reference here.Please advise me how to render the Richtext /Html content.Thanks in AdvanceVKG

I'm searching for an answer to a problem: how do you hide an object that's located on the master page of a form??I have a text field on the master page of my form that displays a predefined string value. I would like to hide this text object (or remove the value) when the form is printed but have the object and/or text re-displayed afterwards. I've tried the following solutions with no success:- Setting the presence of the object to invisible in the prePrint event and setting the presence back to visible using the postPrint.- Setting the font color to white in the prePrint event and setting the font color back to black using the postPrint.- Setting the value of the object to an empty string in the prePrint event and setting the value back to the predefined string value using the postPrint event.- Setting the relevant property of the object to "-print" in the XML source of the form.My LiveCycle and javascript knowledge is fairly limited so I'm not sure if I'm approaching this in the wro

Why can't I freely reposition objects within a flowed subform? Or when I try to add a new object to a flowed subform, I can just drag and drop - it places it next to another object and locks it in place. I can't seem to resize or move objects freely around. Do I have to change something with either the layout for the object, or the layout for the subform? I can't seem to resize the subform either (there is a boundary box around the subform which I can't resize, nor can I drag the subform around whem I'm in the design view.) When I add objects first and place them where I want them, then wrap them in a flowed subform, the objects seem to get locked in place within the subform (I need flowed subforms because I need to repeat). How can I freely move objects around within their subform?

have a form with a table on the first page.  If it has more than 7 line items, then it continues to a new master page content area to display the rest of the line items.  Then it has another separate page to print at the end.However, if I have 7 or fewer lines, it still prints my continuation page.  Is there a way to prevent this page from displaying and from being included in the page count?As another option, is there a way I can subtract 1 from the page count if the number of line items is 7 or less?I've attached a copy of my hieararchy.  I want Page1 to display.  In it is a table.  If it has more than 7 line items, I have it continue to a content area in LIContPage1.  Page 2 prints last.However, if there are fewer than 7 line items on Page1, I don't want LIContPage1 to print or be included in the page numbering.Thanks!

Hi, I have a ADOBE form created through SAP.One of the field in the form is a numeric type and its property under Object>Cell>Display pattern is set as z,zzz,zzz,zz9.99.I have a requirement that for a particular condition this field should display the values with four decimal places. I am not able to figure out what property to use in the scripting.I tried fracDigits and Format. It does not work.The decimal places always remains 2 as set in the display pattern.Is there any way to change this display pattern dynamically based on a condition?any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know of a way to get the border between the caption of a text field and the value section to be visible to a form user?  It's a bit confusing when someone enters a field and there's no line of demarcation between the caption, which they can't edit, and the value, which they need to edit.

I have the same footer on 3 of my master pages. Depending on data, my form may grow to several pages. The first 2 master pages display exactly once and the third page grows to no. of pages depending on input data. Is it possible to script some event so that the textfield on footer displays only on last page?I have seen examples of xfa.layout.pageCount() and xfa.layout.page(this), and tried the conditions on if last page =  currentpage, show/hide  the value of text field in the footer.If there are 10 pages, system should display the text value in the footer only in the 10th page. If the form got only 2 pages, it should display only on second page. I tired all kinds of scripting with pagecount and page(this). But the script is effecting all the pages irrespective of first/ last page.I will be greatful if you can put the sample code/ form on how to do this.Thanks,Krishna

Hi,    we use '//' for commenting a single line. How can we comment multiple lines at  a time? It will be a big pain to comment 15 lines in scripting code each line with a //. Can you tell me any short cut for this.Also, do we have any keyboard shortcuts for commenting a script line?Solution for this will save a lot of time for me.Thanks,kc
