Marketo

Hi everyone, I want to submit a situation like that: I've created a program with a form, relative to an event/webinar. I've also added custom program member fields to this program, but they are not fillable by form, because they have a post-event purpose (like the number of viewed sessions or minutes of attendance).   Then, I've got a script that parses a spreadsheet: it has email, # of viewed sessions, and minutes of attendance; when I've retrieved the lead ID, I would like to update my custom program fields (numberViewedSessions and minutesAttendance) by REST API.   It's possible to do that? I can update a lead by a POST to /rest/v1/leads.json and the status by a POST to /rest/v1/leads/programs/{programID}/status.json, but I don't know if there is a way to update those fields. Maybe a workaround?   Thanks! Gianluca  

I set up a webinar using Zoom webinars, and it's connected to my Marketo. However, my company doesn't use Marketo landing pages or forms to capture registrants - we use the Zoom registration interface.   Is there a way to sync leads that sign up via the Zoom form, into my Marketo smart campaign? I want to be able to auto-capture leads, add them to SFDC, attribute program success and source, etc. etc. Haven't been able to find any help documentation on this.     

I have a case open with Marketo, but I wanted to ping the community as well as I know it's their holiday week and responses might be limited.  I am trying to retrieve the list of recent BULK Lead Extract jobs in our instance, but I am not seeing any since 06/27.  I KNOW there are some because I've been running them and retrieving results; I even have the exportID's, but they're non-existent in Marketo, even ones I ran today.   Has anyone else ever experienced this, or is currently?

I have created and turned on our lead scoring program.  Our current MQL score is 60 so basic behavior and demographic scoring campaigns are from 1-60 points.  I notice persons starting their score in the hundreds, how can this be?  

Q. In Marketo is there a way to compare fields and trigger a workflow if a match or tie exists? e.g. set of score fields that hold the same score? Do I need to use a webhook for this?    Basically what I am trying to create is: If there is a tie between a set of 8 score fields (example score 1 = 3 score 6 = 3 and score 9 = 3) then populate a field, e.g. text field named “score-match” with a value of true. Then use this field in campaign logic so it reads if field is “empty or false” then use current product interest field (this is a separate unrelated field that uses highest current score and product interest label of that score) to determine product track. Whereas, if score-match is "not empty or true" then use in workflow to add member to a smart campaign with a priority structure using choices and list membership to determine correct product track. Our stakeholder wants to only use priority of product track IF a tie exists.

I am trying to set up the native salesforce integration for our Marketo instance. I am experimenting with in our Sandbox instances first, which I connected over the weekend.   When I was playing with the people in Sandbox, I noticed that I could not merge a Marketo-only record with it's duplicate record that spanned both Marketo and Salesforce. I was told by support that this has to do with the permissions our integration user has inside of Salesforce. All the Marketo docs I can find only ever reference recommended read/create/edit/delete access for specific areas (like Leads vs Contacts vs Accounts, etc) but they don’t reference what standard field-level permissions we need to continue to utilize standard Marketo features as if it wasn't integrated into Salesforce (for example, merging a Marketo-only contact with it's duplicate record that exists in Salesforce).   Does anyone know where I can do to find this?

HiIs there a way to get a list of all fields with their types? The export function in the fields screen only exports the field names and labels.

Hello,   I read a few threads but still couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. Here's my situation:   After hosting a webinar, Marketo updates the members' statuses to attended or no show. Then, we send different email follow-ups based on these statuses. I'm trying to find a way to update the 'no show' status to 'attended on demand' if someone clicks on two specific links (presentation or video) provided in that email follow-up. Note that the links are provided through a marketo token I used in building the email.   What would be the best practice to do this? I've tried building a smart campaign with a trigger on "clicks link in email" - email is "..." but it didn't change the status when I tested. How should I enter those specific links so Marketo can recognize them?   Thank you!

Is there a way to capture the URL itself in hidden field on a Marketo form? We already capture URL parameters, which is great. But I'd like to also be able to just capture the URL itself (the main part of the URL before the question mark). Then we would know which page the user was on when he/she filled out a given form.The use case is kind of a long story, but it's related to the fact that we use a single Marketo form for all our webinars. Each webinar needs a different Unbounce landing page, and a mobile version of that page too.I'd like to be able to specify in the form that if [URL where the person filled out the form] contains ABC, then go to thank you page XYZ.Thanks in advance folks!Matt 

Hi all,   I am trying to understand something about our MKTO set up. We are a local (country) office of a global org and MKTO account. The DeDupe rule is email+lead partition ID.   - One method we have of acquiring leads is through a global Fb Business account through which we run Lead Ads. Our HQ then assign a Lead Partition ID based on which country ran the ad, and leads then enter our workspace. - We also have Munchkin API,  list imports, and form fills for leads to enter our MKTO. What we are seeing is multiple records being created in our workspace (sometimes up to 10 records), due to the Lead Partition ID that is being assigned. We are seeing people being placed in different nurture streams simultaneously, and also seeing people existing in multiple country workspaces.   Questions: - If we request this dedupe rule to change to email only, what will be the consequences? - If our global MKTO account then sees ALL same emails as unique leads, how will the merges

Hi,  we have a Marketo custom object that has the top 10 product preferences for each lead.  Fields lead number Prod id 1 -  prod id 2 -  prod id 3 etc.    I would like to create email tokens using the product Id on the product preferences and adding product description, image source, and price form webshop.    If I create a Product Description custom object with the following fields (Prods id, description, price and image source)  1. Is it possible to link the two COs together? using prod ids? How do you link it? 2. Would I be able to use the product description fields in email tokens?   I have searched extensively on the community and cannot find examples on how to link it,    Thanks  in advance,  Maria

Was hoping to get some help here on when a user who has ever been in our system signs-up. Here is the user journey:They click on an app marketplace and arrive at our signup formThe link they clicked has UTMs paramsThe user completes the signup formOn submit,We submit a marketo lead form that creates a lead in marketo with the UTMs and a campaign then picks up the user via a smart list and assigns them to an acquisition program Our signup form syncs the user with the database, and then creates a contact and account in salesforceThe result: A duplicate lead in Marketo (because Marketo will always regard the CRM as 100% source of truth). So I was wondering what the correct way / best practices way is to capture UTMs and attribute to a campaign on signup?Disclaimer: Our signup form cannot send the UTMs to salesforce as the way it interacts with the back-end prevents it from communicating with Salesforce. Hi there, I'm setting up a campaign where I will be sending 5 emails to a smart list. Is there a possibility to use filter "3 open emails", in a way to show leads who at least open 3 emails? I've seen that could be done by advanced filter in smart list but there are so many combination and wondering if there's some workaround to avoid that? Thanks! 

All, two issues: Basic PURL behaviour I've been working to get PURLs behaving and haven't had any joy thus far.  I have a Marketo Landing Page.  On that landing page, I have dropped a Marketo form. I have enabled PURLs in Admin. I have enabled PURLs in the Landing Page. I have enabled prefill of forms in Admin. I have enabled prefill of forms in the Landing page. I have read widely on the forums, and have yet to become enlightened 😞 If I type in mydomain/mylandingpage/mycode, I do not get anything being prefilled.   Fall back PURL behaviour If someone enters a URL with an invalid PURL Unique Code, is there a way to display an entirely different landing page (or at least to hide the form and replace it with different text)?   Cheers and thanks in advance for the help. Hi,    We have set up a Zoom webinar and have been live for a couple of weeks with no issues. This week we started having. a few new registrations come in with a "Registration error" status. Which means they haven't received their Zoom log-ins in their email confirmation.    The reason stated is that "The webinar has already finished or does not exist anymore"... which is not the case as it is scheduled for June 24th.   Anyone has experienced that issue before and/or has a fix for this?   Thanks   Thanks

I need to send emails based on a deadline or start date. I've created a smart list using in the past 1 day. It's not working. The same people have received the same email 3 days in a row. I then changed the date to be a little farther and used the in past and in the past before to select a single date. they still get the email every day. I have it so they can go through this campaign each time because someone (email address) can have more than one deadline date (they will have multiple records but same email), so I can't turn that off (I'm pretty sure Marketo goes by email address and not record).  I have not had this issue in the past (former companies). Anyone know why it keeps sending even though it's not the date I'm pulling?

Hi, I have been using the bulk import api regularly across multiple instances to import large lists of data. I am currently encountering an issue w/ one of the instances where the bulk import status is not updating correctly. Here is a response form the bulk import staatus api: {'batchId': 1037, 'importId': '1037', 'status': 'Importing', 'numOfLeadsProcessed': 10136, 'numOfRowsFailed': 0, 'numOfRowsWithWarning': 0, 'message': 'Import succeeded, 10136 records imported (10136 members)'}The message states that the import succeded but the status is still stuck at 'Importing'. Is the status supposed to say 'Complete' here or is the message incorrect?This # of leads being imported to a list is taking > 30 minutes (its not a lot of leads and there aren't other imports running). Based on this kind of performance,if i was trying to import a list of 100k contacts it would take over 3 hours. Is this normal and expected, or is it possible that the instance i am using is somehow hobbled? 

Hi,    We are trying to prevent Marketo from updating contact information fields (email, name, phone...) of Salesforce Contacts (so as long as they are leads it's fine).  What was done is put a validation rule in place for contacts, so that only certain users can modify these fields at that stage (after conversion).    This is causing a backlog however.  So, aside from creating adaptable proxy fields and replace them in forms, then creating smart campaigns that carry over updates to these fields only as long as the record hasn't been converted (as discussed here), no other ways? I know that backlogs are generated when the sync user loses write permissions over fields that Marketo tries to update. What is stupid about this is that the whole record is frozen... It's just specific information that we need to be blocked. I asked about it in the past , but wanted to raise the topic one last time in case there are other ideas out there.  It w

We're embedding the forms on an external site, and we have Madkudu so we'd like to only ask for email and then have a second form (Marketo powered) prefilled with the user info from Madkudu. Is that possible? We've been looking online for this but there's no clear answer.Thanks

Thank you for reading my post   to summarize the report. i created a "Shared email" which means an email used by multiple batch campaigns(11 to be exact)   it is set to be sent to 50,000+ users   here is the scenario batch campaign schedule to send weekly: Settings: each person through the campaign every time 1. first email was sent to 50,000+ users and shows on report (email performance report) 2. second email, i verified the batch campaign on the schedule tab and it says "scheduled to affect 50,000+ users" 3. i created the same report as number 1 and changed the data of the report to start from the date sent of #2, but it only shows 500+ and not 50,000+ i created a smartlist to double check: smartlist filter "email was sent <email name> and date (date sent for #2) also shows 50,000+  why is this happening?   note: i have 3 emails in this database and all received the emails,

I was just researching some details about MSI for a relatively new Marketo instance integrated with SFDC and happened upon this screenshot in the product docs that I've never seen before:   In all the instances I recall seeing (and I have access to 3 at the moment), the "View" drop down didn't/doesn't exist and I've never seen "Best Bets" before. Can anyone shed any light on this? Is it a new feature? An old feature that isn't used? I'm not finding anything in the product docs about how to enable these features.  

Hiya All, I have a client who has a large number of leads without email addresses.  They are going to do a direct mail to try and garner at least some of these email addresses.  We do have these leads loaded into Marketo (yay for using the API)   The plan is to have a unique code in each letter that a lead can enter into a form.  If the code is valid, It'll then populate what we do know about the lead, and get them to update details and fill in an email address.  If the code is invalid, we'll let them know and get them to try re-entering.     Has anyone done this, and if so HOW did you make it all work.  If no one has done this, what might a solution look like?   BTW - NO - We will not be using the Marketo Lead ID.  the code will be a random set of letters and numbers meaning people can't just guess at the next number in the sequence to mess with other peoples data.   Cheers   Jo

Hey y'all!    I was wondering if it's possible to fully automate a webinar program. Here's my ideal setup: We create tokenized landing pages and emails for the live webinar. (we currently do this) The tokens are then updated with the current information. We also create on-demand tokens with slightly different text, watch link, etc...  Webinar occurs. Marketo then automatically switches the tokenized sections on the landing pages to the on-demand tokens.  Is this possible?  Or should we just update the tokens manually to reflect the on-demand webinar changes?
