Since different users have different permissions to access fields based on their roles, not every field or record is visible to every user. However, there can be cases when a user needs access to fields which are not accessible. For example, if a program needs to be tested but the field is not accessible, or the user may have been simply missed from the permissions. In such cases, you can check whether the sync user can see that field. Use Sync User Login To find if your sync user has permissions to access the field, check the Salesforce integration ID. Navigate to Admin > Salesforce and check the Credentials. This will give you the login ID. Your Salesforce Admin

Included in this article OverviewWhy This HappensHow to Fix it Overview Lead Partitions are used to put leads into different groups or "buckets". You can set up the lead partitions however you like, but sometimes you'll need to move a lead from one partition to another. The Product Doc here shows how to move the lead to the other partition, but what if the other partition doesn't show up as able to be selected? Why This Happens When setting up the workspace, you can assign lead partitions to those workspaces to limit which partitions are accessible. You'll need a campaign flow step to move the lead to the new partition, but if the campaign is being run from within a workspace that doesn't have permission to access that partition, then it can't "see" the partition at all and it won't show up as being able to be chosen. How to Fix it To fix this, you'll need to assign the lead partitions to the workspace. This will allow the workspace to "see" that lead
If you have a large database, use Firefox to access Marketo, and often get "band-aid errors" when trying to accomplish basic tasks (such as edit an email or look at a program), it may be an issue with the Firefox browser. In some cases, the 32-bit version of Firefox is unable to accommodate a very large/complex Marketo instance. If this is the problem, installing the 64-bit version of Firefox should resolve the problem. To check what version of Firefox you're using, follow the steps at Find what version of Firefox you are using. To switch to the 64-bit version of Firefox, follow the steps at How to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit Firefox.
Image: Step Flow for Predictive Content for Web and Email What are Content URL Patterns? This post explains the first part of the flow image above: the discovery and tracking of content for the Predictive Content app. During the setup phase, the marketer defines their content URL patterns (See Create Content Patterns for more information), in order for Marketo to discover HTML content (e.g., blog posts, press release, news articles) across a domain. Setting URL patterns allows Marketo to auto-discover content when a web visitor clicks on the HTML web page within the content pattern. This content is then added to the All Content page in Predictive Content. Setting up URL Patterns Go to User Profile > Content Settings > URL Patterns. (For more information, see the Getting Started doc: Getting Started with Predictive Content) Image: URL Patterns Page Rules for Content URL Patterns Use of a wildcard (*) is permitted throughout the expression. e.g., domain.com/*&
Image: Step Flow for Predictive Content for Web and Email What is Auto Content Discovery? This post explains the first part of the flow image above: discovering, mapping, and tracking your content assets. Content Discovery is used in the Predictive Content app to auto-discover all the content assets (videos, pdfs, blog posts, press releases, white papers, etc.) on a website/domain. Once discovered, you can see how your content is performing and decide which pieces of content should be prepared, approved, and enabled for the Predictive Content outcomes on web (either in the recommendation bar or rich media) and email. IssueA Program or Smart Campaign was deleted and you would like to have it restored. SolutionMarketo Support cannot restore deleted programs or campaigns. Marketo Support can only restore deleted leads, emails, and landing pages within a certain amount of time after deletion. Landing pages and emails that are assets of a deleted program cannot be restored.Marketo Support can provide the smart campaign configuration, including details such as filters in the smart list and flow steps. It's essential, however, that the deleted campaign is relatively recent, ideally within the last 2 weeks.
IssueIssue Description You receive notification that Campaign Failed in trying to update Segmentation for leads. SolutionTo troubleshoot this issue review the Segmentations for the following: Click on the Segmentation to pop up in a dialog box with the failed Segment(s)If a Segment failed to approve, review the Smart List filters for missing values or errors in the smart list logic of the Segment. When errors have been fixed, approve the Segment, review again if the notification occurs again.

IssueIssue Description Is there a limit as to how many domains can be added when adding domains to Marketo Admin > Email > SPF/DKIM? SolutionIssue ResolutionYou are able to add as many domains as you wish to the Admin > Email > SPF/DKIM. The basic requirement is that you have control over the domain DNS.
IssueIf your Smart Lists are processing slowly, you may be able to speed them up using Segmentations for exclusion lists. SolutionMany companies maintain email exclusion lists based on a number of criteria. In Marketo, these are often set up using Smart Lists that are then referenced in "Member of Smart List" filters. However, Smart Lists that reference other Smart Lists can be slow to resolve. Using a Segmentation for your exclusion lists instead of Smart Lists can help your campaigns and programs run more efficiently. Instructions for setting up Segmentations can be found here: Create a Segmentatio. You can then use the Segmentation filters in your Smart List rather than the "Member of Smart List" filters: Use Segment Filters in a Smart List.
IssueWhen data is synced to Marketo from lookup fields in Dynamics, the unique record GUID is put in the Marketo field rather than the name of the referenced record. SolutionIn Dynamics, the data stored in lookup fields is actually the unique ID of the referenced record. Since the record that is being referenced is also in Dynamics, the UI is able to display the name of the record rather than its unique ID. However, when the data for those fields is pushed to Marketo, it is still the unique IDs that are synced over, so you will see the long string of letters and numbers in the associated Marketo fields, and not the name of the records. A workaround for this behavior is to: Create custom fields in your CRM for each of the lookup fields that you intend to sync.Create a workflow in Dynamics that populates those fields with the name of the referenced record, and stores it as a string of text. When those fields custom fields are synced to Marketo, the data will be di
IssueYou can't delete a lead/person due to a permission error. SolutionIf your User Permissions do not include "Delete Lead/Person," you will be unable to delete lead records and will encounter a Permission Error (insufficient privileges/permissions). To resolve this, an administrator will need to add the following permissions for you: "Delete Lead/Person""Run Single Flow Action"
IssueYou receive a message that the partition cannot be deleted because it is not empty, even though there are 0 leads in the partition. SolutionMarketo will give you this error message when you have a partition with anonymous leads in it. Even if you move all known leads from a partition, there will still be hidden anonymous leads. This will prevent you from deleting the partition. Contact Marketo Support to have the anonymous leads removed from the partition so that you can delete it.
IssueStatuses are not showing for a channel when viewed in the Admin > Tags section of Marketo. SolutionTo view the statuses for a channel, follow these steps: Go to Admin > Tags.Expand the Channel tag type.Double-click on a channel to open the Edit Channel window.Scroll down to view the statuses. If you are unable to see statuses in the Edit Channel window, it may be due to the slight delay that can occur when Marketo is loading the values for a channel. If you leave the channel window open, the values should populate. The more statuses there are for a particular channel, the longer the delay can be before they populate.
IssueAfter adding an IFrame to an email in the Marketo email editor, the IFrame seems to disappear when you view the email in an email client (such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or Gmail). SolutionThe reason why you can see the IFrame in Marketo but not in your email client is because not all email clients support IFrames. If yours does not support them, the IFrame will be blocked and will not appear in the email. You can try viewing the email in another email client to see the IFrame.
IssueYou want to run a report that will show you which leads/people clicked on links within a specific email. SolutionThe Email Performance report will show click rate and what links are in emails, but not which specific leads leads clicked on a link. To see that, you can instead create a Smart List. Using the filter of "Clicked Link in Email," you can then pick the desired email and the results of the Smart List will show you which leads clicked a link in the desired email.
IssueIssue Description After an email send, the number of emails sent is much lower than the number of people that qualified for the sending Smart Campaign or Email Program. SolutionIssue ResolutionOne possible reason you are seeing a different number of emails sent versus the number of people that qualified for that is email is because of communication limits. If a person qualifies for an email, Marketo will try to send it. However, if a lead has already reached their daily or weekly communication limit, Marketo will not send the email (with the exemption of operational emails). To check to see if a lead did not get an email due to communication limits, follow the steps at Email Program Fails to Send Emails.
IssueAn email program fails to send emails to a large number of leads/people in the Smart List. SolutionSometimes leads/people in your Email Program's Smart List will be skipped in the email send because they already reached their daily/weekly communication limit. You can confirm if this has occurred by following these steps: Open your Email Program.Change your view to Control Panel.Click on View Results in the top left panel to see a list of all activities attributed to the email program.Click on Filter > Custom.Select the Send Email box.Click the Apply button.Scroll to the bottom of the list. If the leads/people have been skipped due to communication limits, you will see that a large number of leads/people listed as "Skipped Lead already used up Daily/Weekly communication limit." You can check or adjust your Communication Limits in the Admin panel of your Marketo instance.
IssueYou want to enable Sales Insight on Salesforce Mobile application. The setting appears in the Package Config, but it is not editable. SolutionMarketo Sales Insight is only available on Salesforce desktop website. To enable Sales Insight, you will need to be on the SFDC site.
IssueYou have a Salesforce Custom Object that has a relationship to multiple objects, which shows up twice in Marketo with the same name. When trying to enable the second object in Marketo, you seeing an error like this: "An object with the same name is currently enabled for sync. Please give the object a unique name and retry." SolutionMarketo requires that each custom object have a unique label. You will see this error when the labels in Marketo are the same for both custom objects. In order to enable it, you'll need to change the label in Marketo for the second custom object that is attempting to be synced. The easiest thing to do is append a letter in parenthesis to denote which object it is for (e.g., "Example Object (A)" for the Account). This will allow the custom object to sync into Marketo and the API information in the back end will remain unchanged, allowing the records and changes to sync from Salesforce into Marketo.
Issue You are trying to add a hyperlink for your calendar event token to text in an email, but when you click on the link in a sent email, you are not getting an ICS file. Solution When you add the calendar token to an email, it displays as a "My token." Once the email is generated, that token will then appear as a link in your email. However, if you try to hyperlink the token, the token cannot resolve. To get the calendar file token to work properly, you need to add the token to the email by following the steps in this document: Include a Calendar Event in an Email. Note that you should add the token using the Insert Token button, rather than the Insert/Edit link button.
IssueAfter syncing a Salesforce Custom Object to Marketo, you aren't sure how to edit the fields within the Custom Object. SolutionIt is not possible to edit SFDC Custom Objects within Marketo. The Sync User in SFDC only has read-access on Custom Objects. It is not possible to change these settings to allow write-access. Any necessary changes will need to be made within Salesforce.
IssueYou click on a link in an email that goes to a page with a form, and the fields on a form are pre-filled with a different person's information. SolutionWhen you forward an email that contains tracking tokens, the links in those emails are dynamically generated for the original sender. If you forward that email, then the links will still point back to the original person who received the email. This will cause form pre-fill and all activities to be tracked under the original person who received the email. To prevent this in the future, send an original email that has not been sent to a lead already. If you want leads to be able to forward emails to other interested parties, include the Forward to a Friend link in the email instead.
IssueYou have Universal ID enabled, and now would like it to be disabled. Or you are considering whether Universal ID might be acceptable for your business use case, and would like to know if it is able to disabled at a later date. SolutionIt is not possible to disable Universal ID one it has been enabled.
