I had an instance that crashed. I was working on content fragments and had set policies to only allow certain content fragment models to be under some folders to organize data. I have stood up a new instance but the policies tab does not show in the folder configurations so I can change which content fragment models may be seen. If I apply a package that had the old settings, clicking on the folder causes errors. What do I need to set to enable the policies tab on folders?
Are you a Workfront System Administrator who "inherited" an existing instance of Workfront (vs. being part of the team from the start)? If so, would you be open to a quick, 30-minute chat? I'm part of a team at Workfront that creates programs that help customers better adopt and use Workfront, and my next big project is helping Admins who are taking over an existing instance. I'm certain MANY of you have advice for those folks, and a list of "what I wish I had known." I'd love to hear it! Anything you share will be used to create resources, from templates, to checklists, to email programs, or in-app guidance to hopefully make a System Admin’s life easier. You can see my availability and book time with me directly here. [INTERVIEW SLOTS ARE CURRENTLY FULL] Thanks so much to anyone willing to share their time and experience, I genuinely appreciate it (as do our future System Admins!). Drop a comment below if you have questions. ----------EDIT: WOW! The

AEM Clientlib Minification issue and how to debug- by Debal Das Abstract We all know that minification allows us to reduce the size of the files being requested. We also know that AEM provides an OOTB OSGi configuration to enable minification on the instances which in time will reduce the size of the Javascript (JS)/CSS files being requested, improving the loading time of the pages. But many times minification didn’t work despite being this AEM OOTB OSGi configuration enabled on AEM clientlibs. Personally I had encountered this issue and even I have seen several posts specially with ECMASCRIPT6 minification isn’t working or clientlib isn’t getting minified. Now I will talk about how can we debug this issue here. Approach:1 Like any other issue we always start the debug with log file so, no exception in this case also. We need to check error.log file of the relevant AEM instance and then search with the file name like clientlib.min.js or clientlib.js Please don’t get confused w
Putting Super Authors to Work by Farhan Mohammed Abstract Today we’re going to take a detailed look at Super Authors – a categorization of contributors that developers set when assigning permissions during an implementation. Super Authors in AEM have control over various configurations within the environment. The development team sets these configurations to allow non-developers to fine-tune marketing material. AEM super authors can be segmented (grouped) like author contributors based on brand(s) and/or department(s) within an organization. In general, it’s best practice for AEM developers and architects to keep super authors in mind when solutioning and developing in AEM. Developers can focus on consolidating design and policy configurations at the design dialog level, which will simplify authoring while providing high-level of customization without developer intervention. This article will cover AEM best practices for out of the box (OOTB) functionality for a super author to meet
Inheritance – AEM by Kiran Vedantam Abstract There are many ways inheritance is implemented in AEM. For today’s topic, we would be discussing a couple of use-cases on how to access the properties from either ancestral pages or components Use case1: Accessing a page property that is authored on the home page into its child pages using java code. Solution: HierarchyNodeInheritanceValueMap An InheritanceValueMap for a given page resource that will inherit values from ancestral pages. On my /content/allaem/us/en page, I have added a property A new object is created for HierarchyNodeInheritanceValueMap and current page content resource is passed into it as a parameter. Here, the InheritanceValueMap checks for “jcr:description” in /content/allaem/us/en/home/jcr:content /content/allaem/us/en/jcr:content /content/allaem/us/jcr:content /content/allaem/jcr:content If the property is found nowhere, null is returned. This model is now referenced in the text component’s htl in the below w
What is Sling Resource Merger? by Heena Shirke Abstract Sling Resource Merger is a Differencing Mechanism which only works for standard Granite implementation. Let's say you would like to overlay a node from /libs and update some properties on it. Overlaying a node to /apps needs exact structure under /apps folder. Without Sling Resource Merger concept, you would have to create a 1:1 copy towards node from /libs to /apps. Now, with Sling Resource Merger, you just need to create empty structure towards the node and only add properties you wish to update. This mechanism will take care of combining the structure based on priority of nodes defined in Apache Sling Resource Resolver Factory configuration. It benefits the overlay/override of resources and/or properties to be merged with the original resources/properties rather than potential duplication of nodes. The purpose for using the Sling Resource Merger in AEM are to: Ensure that customization changes are not made in /libs. Thi

Hi All,We are trying to enable custom styles dropdown plugin for Content fragment rich text editor datatype, Can you please share any references ?
We have a company website running on AEM 6.5 on our servers and are looking for an search solution that offers autocomplete, and recognizes PDF/Excel/PPT files along with our web pages. I'm not a developer but we have our own dev team to implement. After a day of searching (ironically on Google) I have not found an answer. Can Google Custom Search Site Restricted JSON API be implemented with AEM 6.5? -Thanks!
We have language copies of a site, all language copies are translated based on the english master site. Translation works fine when running for a new language copy, but once updating page properties ex. page description (jcr:description) the new text is not being translated/reflected on the existing language copy. The description is being translated the first time as this property is defined in the translation_rules.xml, so this is failing only when updating an already existing language copy. We are using the OOTB MS Translation connector to our own MS Translator API account. Is that a known bug in AEM or is it a configuration somewhere we are missing?

The location of these nodes is under /var/granite/async .Under this location, you could find all the async jobs categorised under months & days. Along with these folders, there would also be an asyncbarricade folder which will contain all the jobs which have barricaded. It contains information like job-id, userID, contentPath. After we try a page move operation. It is either completed or failed. If we try to do an illegal move [ moving a template under a certain path which is not part of it's allowedPaths ]. The job will fail but it will not create an asyncbarricade node. The barricade feature is to protect the content from any inconsistency because of a subsequent move operation request for a resource and its children for which a move operation is not completed yet. I did not find any relevant information on this topic. And I was hoping that If anyone had any information about the same we can post under this. Why does the barricade node ge
Hi all,We are planning to work on modernising the work intake process in the New Workfront experience. To that end, we would like to tackle some of the larger pain points you are experiencing in that process. In order to concentrate on the most important things first, we would like to get your input. There are 12 outcomes we have outlined in the survey. We would really appreciate it if you would go over each outcome and rate both its importance to you and your level of satisfaction with the current solution for that outcome.I would be more than happy to do a call and discuss things in person, so feel free to book a date in the following calendar.Appreciate your time and readiness to help us make Workfront better.
We have written a custom workflow step. It has the following code. The idea is to save a Document variable to the Payload directory. In Java, we are trying to read in the Document variable. Create a Delightfully Shoppable Experience with the New WKND Reference Site and AEM’s Commerce Integration Framework by Mark J. Becker Abstract Recently, we released WKND Commerce, our new reference storefront for the Commerce Integration Framework (CIF). WKND Commerce is based on the well known WKND site for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). AEM is Adobe’s cloud-native web content management system which allows you to create engaging digital experiences. With the CIF Add-on, you can elevate these experiences even more by bringing commerce data into the mix with fluid e-commerce connections to create content-driven shopping journeys. In this 6th post of our Commerce Integration Framework (CIF) blog series, we’ll take you on a journey in which we will transform WKND into a commerce-enabled project. What you learn here will help you enrich your own AEM projects with content and commerce to create shoppable experiences that will delight your customers. The WKND concept, and in particular
AEM 6.5.12.0 - Sling Models Use Pojos Anti Samy Rules for Custom Tags by Sreekanth Choudry Nalabotu Abstract Goal When adding Custom Tags via Sling Models or Use Pojos, without overlaying the Anti Samy rules and add the tags in /apps/cq/xssprotection/config.xml, you should see the following in error.log... org.apache.sling.xss.impl.XSSFilterImpl Detected policy file change (CHANGED) at /apps/cq/xssprotection/config.xml. How NOT to Generate HTML by Daniel Klco Abstract Recently, I have been working on an integeration between Adobe's Search and Promote and CQ5/AEM. This work has reminded me of one of my least favorite anti-patterns, embedding HTML markup in Java code. You tend to see this 'technique' a lot in Servlets, Tags and other Java web technologies. This is a bad idea for several reasons: It breaks the MVC model It's hard to understand the HTML code It's difficult, if not impossible, to modify the markup In the case of Search and Promote, the CQ integration classes are used to parse the XML responses from Search and Promote. The unfortunate part is they also are used to generate the HTML for the forms to be displayed in CQ as well as some additional HTML markup. While this makes for smaller scripts in CQ, it makes extending the Search and Promote functionality more difficult than necessary. A better technique which is available to anyone developing on the AEM platform is to generate the data r
