Billing and Cost rate access, within Financial Data, is treated as equal parameters in Workfront. However, in practice cost rates, unless banded, are much more sensitive than billing rates. We would like an option to split the two in the Access Level so we can cater for the following scenarios:As a project manager, I want to set the billing rate of my resources or users, in order to calculate project profitability. As a project manager, I want to review the cost rate of my resources, in order to budget the right resources for my project. As a Finance manager, I want to set the billing and cost rate of my department, in order to calculate chargeable utilisation on projects. As an Account Director, I want to see the billing rate per hour of a resource, in order to provide an estimate to a potential client. The user cases above demonstrate a requirement to separate who in the system can view/edit billing or cost rates,I would recommend adding additional options:View Role Billing RatesEdit Role
We are beginning the process of onboarding Groups into the new experience NWE. And, in addition, we're in the process of bringing new Groups into Workfront. These new Groups are being onboarded directly into NWE. Ideally, we'd like to have the ability to change two things in our settings: Have a "New Experience setting directly on User Profiles. So, this way, if we're cloning a user who is assigned to NWE, the assigned interface would transfer to the cloned user. And, if the user is in Classic, vice-versa. It would also be good to bulk edit users in this way.Eventually change the default with NWE from "opt-in" to "opt-out." We're going to be bringing in hundreds of new users and will likely move to auto-provisioning these users utilizing SSO. When a new user has the base-level of access provisioned, we'd like to have that person received into the NWE.
Description - Add "Data Range" in the "Transfer Assets" process, along with all the other componentsWhy is this feature important to you - Because after the migration, the target use will own all the assets but is not able to change the custom data range used in the migrated workspaces projectHow would you like the feature to work - When the assets are migrated from a user to another, the migration includes also the custom Date Range.Current Behaviour - Currently there is the possibility to transfer all the assets from a user to another. The only components that are not migrated are Date Ranges.
The interface under Milestone setup is confusing for end users who have an Access Level that allows them to update the Milestone paths of their own group(s). A user with this access level can view any Milestone path by clicking on it - even ones that are not part of his group, and actually add/edit Milestones; the user just can't save his work. It might be less confusing if the users just were not allowed to type in the fields of any Milestone path not in their group. Ie, it would be clearer if the fields were grayed out. Or better yet, maybe the Milestone Path should just not visible to the user if the path is not associated with his/her group. Thanks.
This is something that should have come along to the NWE from Classic, but did not. The engineering team has said this is working as designed in NWE and support recommends an Innovation Lab idea at this point. How we found the issue... different users were seeing a different "Due Date" for the same task on the Team Requests page. Upon digging into it I found one user was seeing commit date, while the rest of us were seeing planned completion. Since everyone looking at the page has the same layout template, we were baffled. What engineering told us... Currently in NWE, on the Team Request page, the "Due On" date shows the planned completion date UNLESS there is a Commit Date, then the Commit Date shows. And there's no option to change this.Back in Classic, there was an option in the layout templates to select the "Due Date" as either Planned Completion or Commit date for both My Work (pre-Home) and Team Requests. But since My Work doesn't exist in NWE
It would be great to edit active proofs. I often need to add additional docs to an active proof but need to create a new version to get those docs to combine with current proof. Edit proof to add pages would be very useful.
It would be helpful to view the proofing workflow in the right summary viewing pane. Currently you can view version details so should be able to view workflow. This would save users from having to click proofing workflow tab and wait for new page to load. Need to see status of reviewers quickly.
When adding a column in a report that references a collection, that column should be sortable within Workfront as well, instead of having to export and sort in Excel.Use Case: I created a project report and added a column for a manager's team members who are part of the projects.
Description - Revert/discard an unpublished rule back to the live version Why is this feature important to you - Simpler/cleaner than copy/pasting the current live version back into the rule and preserves original modification dateHow would you like the feature to work - Menu option to discard last changeCurrent Behaviour - None, feature does not exist
When we customize what users see in the "Home and Summary" section of a layout template the changes are not reflected in the summary panel of unassigned tasks in the Workload Balancer (it is reflected in the summary panel of assigned tasks). The ability to customize what is seen for unassigned tasks is extremely valuable to the resource manager, so that they can easily reference particular details without having to go to each individual task and dig for them.
We would like to have a 'find & replace' feature in the comments section of a proof. This will assist in saving time for large documents that need to be marked up and updated.
We have numerous items (10s to 100s) with the same Planned Completion dates, but they bog down the calendar view. Is it possible to group on the day based on specific criteria? For instance, if I had 15 with the same Planned Completion Date and they are all a specific project custom form field, can I group and just have a single entry on the date saying something like "Specific Field (15)"? This would be wildly helpful for those of us with fewer planned completion dates and a ton more projects.
Hi guys,There used to be functionality in Workfront Classic to be able to bulk edit the comments on multiple projects, or just one. While I can still bulk edit multiple projects in NWE - the functionality to edit "just one" has been omitted. This is annoying to have to change the process and open projects in a new window to add an update.Cheers,Justin
The limitations in the Agile platform are hindering our performance. The entire platform needs to be revamped to compete with other Agile platforms. For instance, it is messy trying to create Epics (we have to open the "project object" edit the "project tasks" to create a parent task to mimic an epic. We should be able to assign points to stories such as 8 hours, and then separately assign points to the subtasks of stories. Instead, since we use 8 hours for stories, we have to use fractions (.25 for 2 hours, .5 for 4 hours) to assign points to subtasks. And the burndown chart is terrible and does not calculate the # of stories and # of stories completed correctly. Further, we can't even use Kanban and are HOPING the minor changes being made to that will allow us to figure out a way to use it. We cannot get an answer as to when the entire Agile module will be reworked and deployed.
We have several programs under one portfolio. These programs have multiple projects. For some programs, we do want the optimizer to score each project separately as it does today. For some programs, we want all the projects to be scored as one, or put differently, the program to be scored as one vs scoring all the projects in that program individually.
There should be an option for Project Owners to receive notifications when Issues on projects are completed, without the Project Owner having to be assigned to the Issue.
Please make the URL available for Project and Role views in the Resource Planner. Currently it is only available in User view.
Allow multiple documents to be selected at once and updates common values in the custom form, or do other actions besides the currently existing (delete, share, move, download)
We would like to be able to quickly "tag" our designated project team on big updates, status updates, key meetings, etc... We'd like to do this in the project update area, task area or on a custom field. Currently we can find no way to do this except to manually type in every single name & then there is great risk to missing someone. It is still easier to do this in our email system, where we can create a email group - but we really want our staff to use Workfront for these updates.
It would be beneficial for the calendar to display the duration between two tasks, today the only way to do this is to create a custom form and set the calendar to display the custom fields. This creates an additional step for project managers when the information is already in Workfront.
We'd like the comment box that appears when making an approval decision on a document be more useful. Right now, the box has a low character limit and isn't scrollable. USER CASE: the approver adds a few small changes, that the document owner needs to make, in the comment box. When double checking what they typed, they can't scroll or expand the box to see the full comment and/or to edit the comment before submitting it.
When attempting to click on the inside vertical slider to scroll through a list of projects from a report, the slider cannot be controlled. Clicking on the slider results in random movement away from the mouse icon. The only way to scroll through the list is by using the mouse wheel. When using only the mouse wheel to scroll through a long list, it takes too much time and effort. This was using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox version: 86.0Support didn't seem interested in resolving this.
Reports are used to collect projects that need a modification. Once a project is selected, the Edit, Share, Delete, and Export controls become available for use. After selecting some of the projects, the Edit button is click, you make your changes, the Save button is clicked, the edit completes, and all the projects are shown from the top of the list and none are selected. This means to do a review of the changes made, the user has to look for these modified projects individually.Workfront Classic would keep the projects selected so you could easily very changes made by just scrolling through the list of projects because they are still highlighted from being selected.Request: Keep the projects selected after the Edit has completed so verification can be easily done.
In a project, have any file folder structure created under a certain task’s Documents tab carry over to the main project’s Documents tab. (Right now file folders created under a task are not being mimicked in the main project folder).
Ability for any URL to be listed as a document in the Documents section (just as a document, not through the proofing tool), similar to the way you can link out to a Google docFor example, a YouTube link or a webpage link
