As part of your efforts to maintain a healthy inbox delivery rate, you should be monitoring your email bounce rates. If your hard bounce rate climbs above 5%, you should take a closer look at what’s going on. If your hard bounce rate hits 10% or more, you should be concerned about your data quality. If you have a high hard bounce rate, it is likely that you have a high number of invalid addresses. An invalid address is an address that has never existed or no longer exists, so mail will never be delivered to these addresses. Marketo automatically stops sending to these addresses, so you do not need to worry about suspending or removing them. But having a high invalid address rate could cause you major delivery problems and reputation issues, and could indicate problematic data sources or list segmentation practices that should be reevaluated.A high invalid address rate can lead to outright blocking of your mail at major ISPs. Many ISPs monitor the number of invalid addresses being

Processing feedback from the blocklists is a manual process for Marketo’s Compliance team. While we try to get the reports out to you on a daily basis, sometimes we get backlogged and notifications may not go out the same day that you triggered the blocklist. But not to worry: most blocklists are dynamic, meaning that they resolve themselves after a given time period or when email statistics improve. Typically blocklist issues are resolved after 24 hours, so chances are you are not still being blocklisted. Still, you need to complete the blocklist remediation program to identify the source of the problem and ensure that this doesn’t happen again. While most blocklist issues resolve themselves, they can have a noticeable impact on deliverability. Furthermore, being blocklisted is an indication that you have a problematic data source in your lists that could lead to even bigger deliverability problems. For a quick run down of the blocklists that our customers run int
Issue: You've notice that visit webpage and click link activity is not being logged for certain leadsSolution:There are a few reasons for this. First of all, have an Admin make sure you have tracking enabled. If you are certain that you have your tracking enabled and it’s working for others, it could be that your lead has tracking turned off in their browser. In late May 2011, the European e-Privacy directive went into effect in Europe. This directive legally mandates that websites tracking users with cookies must obtain explicit consent from the person before dropping the cookie. Marketing automation will become an even more powerful revenue engine when online participants feel safe about their data. In addition to being given the option to opt-in to marketing and lead nurturing programs that are relevant to them, with the standardization of privacy protections, unsavory players will be cut out of the market. Businesses that are trusted will excel in this environment. What is a cookie? A cookie is a very small piece of software code that websites use to track visitors. What do these regulations mean?
