Hi,Is there a way to provide access to a folder in AEM without providing access to its sub-folders.Currently the way it works is if you provide permission to the parent folder, all children folders inherit the access automatically.So you would need to deselect the checkbox from the child folders if you want to provide access to selective sub-folders.For example, for our case there is a Vendor content folder under which there are around 200 company folders.Now ideally a user should only be able to see his company folder alone. However in order to achieve that I would have to provide access to the Vendor folder and then deselect the access from 199 folders leaving aside the company folder the user belongs to. This is very painful and error prone as its humongous manual work.Can anyone please help here?Thanks, Souradeep

    We are using the com.day.cq.wcm.foundation.Search object to do basic full text searches in our site and I've got a question about how it determines what value to assign to Search.Hit.excerpt. We've got the following properties defined for excerpt properties: text, jcr:description, history:caption, and history:description. If the search terms are found in any of those properties the excerpt is returned correctly, but if they're not found in those properties the excerpt returned is the last 60 characters from the history:description field. Is this expected behavior for the search?  

Hi All,How can I compile a java class created under a component definition. I am trying to use a WCMUse class in sightly to get an object from java class which I created under the component definition. I tried another way of creating a WCMUse java class in eclipse multi-module project but it is throwing "No use provider could resolve identifier: com.pro.eLearning.core.impl.servlets.CourseDisplay" error. Hi, I have few questions on deploying AEM 6.0 with tomcat.1. How do i pass "nosamplecontent" parameter to deploy AEM without any test content? Do i need to pass as part of JVM parameters?2. Where can i specify the storage type (TarmMK or MongoDB), when AEM is deployed? By default it will be TarMK. If i want to change to MongoDB, do i need to add author,crx3mongo in sling.run.modes in web.xml?3. I see many errors rolling after installing the Hot fix 5869 on top SP2. Does anyone see errors in error.log?

Hi, Package manager is going to error page for CQ admin. Getting an error as "Cannot serve request to /crx/packmgr.html on this server"I have checked the permission in '/libs/cq/core/content/welcome/features/packages'. The problem we have is that there are no components in the sidekick...  in edit mode. In design mode, there are no components available to enable. The entire section of component checkboxes is missing. The errors logs indicate a problem, but I'm not sure how to correct it. And /libs/wcm/core/content/components.1430058176772.json results in an empty JSON object {}. I have excel sheet where i have got content in chinese / arabic which needs to be uploaded to CQ. In excel i can see they are displaying fine. I am thinking of using curl command automate the process. Hi thereWe're having some strange behaviour on our test-environement. We usually create a copy from our productive author as a test system from time to time.Yesterday we noticed that the author created 1.6 million durboxxxxxxxx.ser files in the temp directory. Thinking those may have come from a long uptime, we shutdown the author and cleaned up the directory. Now 1 day later there are already 150'000 new durbo files whereas our productive author only created 500 of those.Does someone have a hint what might be causing this many files on the system?Thanks alot!Ahatius

What does these lines suggest and when does it happen? In our environment we see continuously 1000's of lines continuously for /etc/i18n nodes and cache gets overwritten continuously. During this time pages does not respond and time out. What causes or triggers these warnings? Hi ,I have created widget node -> xtype : selection , type : radio , name , field Label . It has subnode -> Options : type cq:WidgetCollection and the 'Options' has  nodesof type nt:unstrutured , properties text and value. I am working on customizing the Form Checkbox Group. This form checkbox group basically contain a multified where you can add number of checkboxes. This multified is of default text-field type. The need is to replace this textfield to a rich-text, so that the text in it will have the rich text capabilities. I have edited the checkbox component and added a field-config node of cq:Widget type and xytpe rich-text. On dialog level the textfield got replaced with richtext which in case is the need. The problem is after refresing the page, first time on editing the dialog the rich text works ok. But on editing second time it throws a JS error Uncaught Type error: cannot set property ‘value ’of undefined on richtext.js available at /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/widgets/form/RichText.js. This was the one work around I did, but got stuck. Is there any other work around for this or any solution approach to handle this error.

Hi masters!I'm involved in a DAM project with AEM 5.6.1.I would like to use the DAM interface functionality to activate/deactivate assets, including the 'activate later' option, but with a custom replication actions. I mean, I don't want to replicate assets from author instance to publish instance. Instead, for example, I would like to copy the original file and the thumbnails to a SFTP server (this is just an example).Is there a way to do it?I've been reviewing the com.day.cq.replication javadoc, and maybe this question is related to com.day.cq.replication.Agent, but... I don't know...Do you have any reference to implement this requirement?Thank you very much!Julio.

cq:actionConfigs seems like a useful approach for some work I need to do. This page https://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/javadoc/com/day/cq/wcm/msm/api/ActionConfig.html lists a Java class of that name as being deprecated, but this page https://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/components.html doesn't say anything about that. Is the functionality deprecated? Is there a replacement approach for getting this functionality? Thanks

Hithe link checker has a limit of 128 links for a given target host. We have two large systems with a lot of related content and the limit is ridiculously low. Is there a way to remove this limitation? The majority of our links to the second system are then rendered as text ....Matteo

In the release note of 5.6.1 it mentioned we can start CQ with out sample content (http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/release_notes/overview.html ).          Server Operations Ability to start server with 'nosamplecontent' to avoid demo content being installedSpeed-up deployments of production instancesMy understanding is when we start CQ geometrixx related content and code will not be installed. Can you share how to start in this way if any one of you tried.

CQ ConfigAdmin picks a folder based on the runmode like if runmode was author & dev, it will pick config.author.dev folder automatically. I have a usecase where-in my custom service is supposed to use two different set of properties based on whether its day or night. I know we could have an if-else in service itself and taking a superset of all the parameters, so wondering if runmode can help me here. Like if I create two different folders say config.author.dev.day & config.author.dev.night and then creating under each of it osgi:config node same as PID of my service. This will make it more flexible but have not found a way to do the same so far. Can you help?
