Hi, I am trying to connect to a secured url. I have added all the required certificates to the java trust store and keystore. I am using javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection to connect to the url. I am successfully able to do so on my local machine. However on other serverw like staging, prod etc, I am facing issues because weblogic is managing those servers. So, I get a class cast exception - weblogic.net.http.SOAPHttpsURLConnection cannot be cast to javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection. One solution would be to make changes to weblogic env settings and add JAVA_OPTIONS="-DUseSunHttpHandler=true” to the startManagedWebLogic.sh file.I do not want to make changes to any env settings.Second option is to change my code and use -   java.net.URL url;        javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection httpsConn = null;        try {            url = new URL(null, ENDPOINT,new sun.net.www.protocol.https.Handler());'        } When I try to so, my bundle is not able to resolve this pcakage and giving error - sun.n

Hi ,I wanted to know what happens when we pass "null" to "getAdministrativeResourceResolver" function in "org.apache.sling.api.resource.ResourceResolverFactory"? Does it tries to give administrative privileges based on the current loggedin user's profile or based on something else. Also does this work if we have implemented SSO for AEM?Edit: forgot to add that I get the ResourceResolverFactory using @Reference private ResourceResolverFactory resolverFactory;;thanks,Kevin

Since AEM 6.0 there is "Granite HTTP Cache - Core Bundle" which I guess can work as an outer cache.Unfortunately I cannot find any documentation on this topic. Does anybody know more about this or can share some link/details ?Additionally is HTTP Cache Filter production ready and officially supported ?

Hi,I was setting up users permissions using ACLSetup class. I am using the allow;jcr:read;production-users;/content format. I have to restrict access of some pages to a particular group but have to leave rest of the pages editable for that group. All the pages are sub pages of the parent home page. I thought of providing jcr:all access to the parent home page and then restricting access to the sub pages and setup the rules for that in AclSetup. However, if i give more permissions to the parent page they are being inherited. I tried reversing the order of permission in ACL with no luck.When you set allow or deny permission on a given node then 3 scenarios are possible:if the same ACE (Access Control Entry) is being inherited from a parent node and no matching ACE already exists on the node then nothing will be done.if the same ACE is being inherited from a parent node and a matching ACE is already defined on that path then it will be removed.if the same ACE is not being inherited from a

Hi,I tried to fetch informations from the repository using the QueryBuilder.I could reproduce my problem with the servlet.When I enter this URL :http://localhost:4502/bin/querybuilder.json?path=/content/geometrixx/en/products/triangle&type=cq:PageIt returns 2 results : Features and Overview.But I would like the query to also return Triangle which is a cq:Page.Can you help me plz ?Thanks.

Hi, I new to AEM and spacial with newsletter. I need to send the newsletter which is created under campaign, on the a thank you page (when user reaches to thanks page after completing some activity). I was thing to use newsletter API to send the newsletter from component jsp itself. I found the post which i guess helpful for me. Hi,The other day I stumbled upon this blog post: https://cqdump.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/rewrapping-cq-quickstart-to-include-your-own-packages/It basically shows how to repackage the cq-quickstart JAR file to contain all the hot fixes that one might need out of the box, rather than installing the hot fixes one by one.Is this a safe approach? Does Adobe recommend it our discourage it?We have found that REST-based hot fix upload and installation (that we use in our automated deployment scripts) to be a bit fragile. I was wondering if it is safe to use this approach instead?This could potentially speed up our deployments as well.Thanks,Behrang

Hi Team,I'm working on AEM login and sign up components. I have requirement that after sign up I have to show some message and a link"Activation Email/Resend Email". I have to login an user when he/she clicked on this link. Or I have to show his/her "Profile" when he/she clicked on these links. Bundle "Day CRX Sling - CRX Embedded Repository (com.day.crx.sling.server)" does not come up after installing few project specific bundles, especially bundle containing custom auth login module. This is intermittent problem and it starts working fine once I restart CQ instance. But we are able to check out with an empty cart and place an order, i hope its a known issue (CQ-6145 Checking out with an empty cart is possible). Please let me know if anyone have come across the same issue and have a solution for the above issue.

Hi,We are using AEM5.6 in our application. As part of one of the requirement, we need to show the text in "Open Sans" font on UI. Below is the URL to get the details and supported files for this font: http://www.google.com/fonts#UsePlace:use/Collection:Open+Sans.On windows 7, we downloaded the .ttf file and put that in folder locally and referenced in the code and it worked fine. But this will not work out for the web based application. We tried puttting the ttf file into a folder at CQ apps and other folders too and tried referencing but not able to refer and get that font.So please update if there is any way at CQ level to add support for new fonts so that user should see such new fonts without any external dependencies.Please update if more information is needed.Thanks,Vijay

Hi,I would like to use Sightly to generate XML and properly XML escape the text. So what I would like to do is<myTag>${properties.text @context='xml'}</myTag>but this does not seem to be possible.I have seen that in Sightly one has access to some Java backed objects like 'xssAPI'. So now I would like to use the method xssAPI.encodeForXML but I do not see how I could call this method in Sightly.Any help how to do xml escaping in sightly is appreciated.Thanks,Ronald

I am not able to access package share from my local instance. I am using AEM 5.6.1 on windows 7, I thought it is a problem with my local installation but when I installed it from scratch I still see the problem.Here is what I seeThe Package Share server login page is currently not accessible. Please enter your credentials here. I tried to login to package from https://www.adobeaemcloud.com it didn't work for me as well. When I click on install button for any package I want to download I seeThere are no clouds available to install this packageI am attaching the screenshots from the package share site. Dear people,I  am looking for the best way to structure a multinational  & multilingual website in AEM.These are the main requirements:Each country website has its own content in its own language. There are more than 60 country websites. There is almost no sharing of content among the country websites; For example, each country has its own list of products and services;The structure and look and feel of the country websites should be the same and defined by the blueprint;The templates for creating certain types of pages, as well as the forms should be globally defined & maintained;There are country websites that support more than one languageWhat would be the best way to structure this in AEM? Hi Everyone,I have a use case where I have restrict some nodes below the  jcr:content/node1/node2(to be restricted)  when I publish the page.I tried it using ACL,   restricting the read access on the node to be restricted and the publish the page. I cant see the node in CRX since I don't have permission to read but still when I publish the page everything is getting published.Can some one tell me a way where I can restrict the node from getting published.Thanks & Regards,Krishna

Hi There.I've written a component that stores data in the following location.  /content/applicationName/jcr:content/data/forms/ .  When my component saves information here I want to automatically push this out to the publish instance.  I can do this manually by clicking the replicate button against the node. Could anyone please let me know how to do this automatically?Thanks in advance,Tom

Hi All.When I install a package with sub-packages AEM 5.6.1 creates snapshots. I'd like to disable this behavior because it's time consuming and takes up a lot of resources.When I install any of the sub-packages individually AEM doesn't create a snapshot.In the logs I see "Creating snapshot for package..."Is there a way I can disable snapshot creation when installing an aggregate package?Thanks.David Frenkiel
