Adobe Experience Manager Assets

Is there a way that AEM can systematically enforce file naming conventions for digital assets?  We have a naming convention but users aren't always following it.  Thanks.

When looking at Content Fragments in List View with Content Fragment Model column enabled sorting based on Content Fragment Model does not work. The sorting control exist but it appears to sort based on Created date rather on Content Fragment Model. If sorting is selected, regardless of ascending or descending, it sorts newest to oldest. This has been tested in AEM 6.5.17 and 6.5.18. To duplicate: Open a folder in Assets that contains Content Fragments of different models.Change the view to List ViewAdd the Content Fragment Columnclick the view selector iconclick View Settingsenable Content Fragment ModelClick the column header "Content Fragment Model". The indicator icon will switch to sorting ascending. However the Created column is sorted newest to oldest not the Content Fragment Model column.Click the column header again. The indicator will switch to descending however it is still sorted by Created column newest to oldest.

Hi dear community,i am not sure how this behavior comes to be, but our Illustration AI and EPS files don't work as well with the scene7.We have all our logos and illustrations in an EPS or an AI file format.These formats seem to have a bit of trouble when it comes to a correct output on scene7.It looks like the CMYK gets interpreted as RGB instead of being converted into RGB.Also... the transparency is lost ;(Here is an example:SVG: Looks great, transparency works. When using Adobe Assets, Our Creative teams prefer to use a nested folder structure for each project. Looking for guidance on setting up a folder containing child folders as a project folder template. This is currently being done by a series of steps:• Copy the new master project folder template (containing multiple empty child folders)• Paste the copied master folder template• Move and rename the copied master folder template so it becomes the new project Users complain this is too many steps and it's easy to lose the master project template folder by forgetting to copy/paste before moving/renaming.I would like to reduce the steps, ideally, providing a form to complete the new project folder name so that the copy/paste/move actions are done in the background.

 Is there a documentation around the limitations of New assets UI (Cloud Service) compared to the old one. Any documentation or key pointers around this would help. Customer team is looking to move to the Asset View ( New UI ) and are looking for limitations in the New UI.

Hi all,i've a requirement to upload assets to a remote ftp server. (AEM as a Cloud Service)I basically added a servlet to be able to call the action from the Asset UI. Then i'm using the Job Manager to create a async job to make the call the FTP server.My question is regarding the FTP dependency, i mean what library should use for the ftp connection. I tried with Apache Commons Net but there is not a bundle for this library.I've embedded the jar but I've an error,org.apache.commons.net.ftp at startup level 20 but no packages export them for that startup level.   Any opinion or comment is welcome. Thanks in advance

When I try to create a review task, no task is created. I'll walk through my steps:1. Select "create review task: 2. Fill out the "create review task" form and assign the task to an existing project "review training repository topic."3. Click "create." I get a dialogue that says "success! Review task 'test review' has been created. "4. When I go to the project, no review has been created. No one on the project receives a notification either. Any idea why a review task is not created? 

We are working to restructure our DAM. I'm hoping to greatly reduce the amount of folders we currently have. I'm told, however, that if a folder contains too many assets it affects the performance of the system. Because of this we have more layers of folders than we logically need. For example, we use a lot of stock imagery. At the moment we have a folder for each stock house and then a subfolder in each of those for each year. I'd love to at least get rid of the years and put all of the assets from each stock house in their own folder but that would be thousands of assets in each one and I was told that would affect the performance of the system. Are there ways around this or do I really have to create a multilevel folder structure to handle simple things like this? 

Hi Team, Getting below error when trying to replicate assets from AEM 6.5.16 Author (nosamplecontent) to Publish for specific assets and replication gets blocked further. These assets are well replicated in the lower enviornment (nosamplecontent). No repository datastore exception found with the Author or Publish instances. Other assets are replicating without issues. Does anyone know if we can brand the header bar in Assets to be our brand logo, colors and fonts instead of Adobe's. I know there are some options for branding in the Brand Portal but Adobe's logo is still the main one at the top and that top bar is still black and the fonts are still Adobe fonts. Any user in this system should feel like they are working within our brand when in the DAM or Brand Portal but I have not been able to find a way to configure the system to do that. Has anyone done that with their system?

Hi All,We have a requirement where we need to stop showing some workflows in the create button that comes in the top in AEM Author instance when multiple assets are selected in our certain DAM path.So, when we select Multiple assets those workflows should not be visible but when we select a single asset then it should be visible.We run AEM 6.5 on premise.Thanks.

I have few queries regarding brand portal . Let me know if you have any pointers. Is there way we can restrict users to see specific folders inside brand portal ? For eg: If we have Folder A and B and I want to provide access to my users for folder A only.When we are sharing assets through brand portal , then outlook/Gmail emails are getting triggered or only notifications will come inside brand portal under task and notifications section ?Can we share assets using brand portal  to external users email id ? If yes, can they download those assets ? Note: Above asked queries are for Adobe Brand Portal and not for AEM.

I have been tasked with creating a new custom metadata schema and I was hoping to get some insight on how others might be tackling the problem. What we currently have is several dropdown menus that have associations between one another for various products and their accessories/sub-categories. That seems to work well for us but it starts to break down when we are adding our SKUs numbers. We have well over a thousand SKUs and adding them to an associated dropdown menu is both tedious to manage and tedious to use. The original reason for doing it this way was to be able to do a specific product SKU search in the filter rail but I can't help but think there is a much better way to tag product photo assets with multiple SKUs and still have them filterable. So my questions are: How do others handle a similar situation so that their assets can be easily filterable (product>sub-category>SKUs)Is there a way to filter by a specific set of tags? Does that even make sense to

My company uses AEM 6.5 Assets and Dynamic Media/Scene7. We use Scene7 to generate URLs for each of our individual assets, both images and PDF documents. The asset URLs are then pushed to a variety of downstream systems (Marketo, Sites, digital publishers, etc.). By using URLS for individual assets, whenever a update is made to any of our assets (including PDFs), the downstream systems point to the most current version of the asset. Many of our assets are PDF documents (white papers, case studies, etc.)Oddly enough, Scene7 auto-publishes images but not PDF documents. Scene7 only auto-publishes PDF documents as e-catalog, which we don't use. Each time we upload a PDF document, we have to manually publish the PDF.Does anyone have any experience with this? If not, is there someone I can reach out to at Adobe to suggest a feature enhancement for Scene7 to auto-publish PDF documents?Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

As a non admin User group, I need the ability to enable download of EXPIRED assets in AEM.OOTB, AEM does not support download for EXPIRED assets for non admin users

Current AEM 6.5.10, we want to continue using all the existing components/pages/templates. But just wondering is it possible to add SPA capability to the current AEM instance?Meaning we could have all the existing components/pages/templates to authoring/create pages as usual, and we also could have SPA components and pages for let's say a campaign page?

Hi, We are trying to explore the aem 6.5 smart crop feature. I followed https://docs.adobe.com/content/help/en/experience-manager-65/assets/dynamic/image-profiles.html  I have mapped my image profile to the assets folder. I can see the smart crop option but there are no crop profiles in the drop down. Can someone help me understand this?    

We have a many assets under DAM files, I need report for only particular selected asset. Similarly, in aem dam many  users can perform actions with assets like upload, download, update, and delete etc., I need to get report for a single user action performed on asset. Is it possible to get report for unique asset or user data in excel/csv? 

Hello Adobe Community, I'm currently working with the Global/Omnisearch and Assets Admin Search features in AEM as a Cloud Service. I'm facing two primary challenges: Global/OmniSearch Default Path: I aim to set a default DAM path for the Global/Omnisearch. By default, I'd like the search results to be limited to a specific folder (e.g., `/content/dam/we-retail`). While users should initially only see results from this folder, I also want to give them the flexibility to subsequently search other folders via the Assets Admin Search by adjusting filters. Is there a way to set this default path for Global/Omnisearch?Assets Admin Search Path Modification: I tried to modify the default search path of the Assets Admin Search from `/content/dam` to `/content/dam/we-retail`. However, even after making this change, it appears to continue searching under the `/content/dam` path. Has anyone encountered this issue? Any guidance on why this might be happening and how to fix it w

Hi,I am able to create a report using Tools | Assets | Reports.The report can be set to run now or on a specific day/time. How to schedule the report to run everyday?There is an option to download the report as cvs. Is there a way to automatically email this report or store it in a directory path?Any documentation or tutorial on this topic will be helpful.Thanks,Leena

I am rebuilding the author repository from scratch using our hot backup.I am using crx2oak-1.10.0-all-in-one.jar to migrate content to a newly setup 6.5 instance.Migrations are ongoing and successful. The process includes migrating all the packages from the hot backup into the new instance.I am identifying packages which need to be installed in the new instance. However, how can I confidently identify which packages are actually installed in the current instance to install them in the new instance? Is the status for a package of "installed" reliable? And here is the more concerning aspect, what if a package is installed but has been deleted from the repository. How do you identify packages like that? I would prefer to focus on solving this question. Thank you

Hi dear community,i hope you all have a wonderfull day!As it currently is:The current way to search for expired assets is the expirystatus within the statusgroup predicate.It only has one option available Expired and this is clearly not everything interesting about the expiry.In addition to this, the only option here, Expired, does not only show the expired assets themself BUT also files that have a expired asset within its dependencies!For example, there is one icon that has expired. This only option will now not only list this one icon as a search result, but also every InDesign file that has the icon somewhere in it.That waters down the search results very badly.What i am now trying to archive is an expansion of options here and this is where you may come in with your ideas and knowledge.Any idea and any input is very appreciated.What i am looking for are the following options:Expired: The asset itself is expired (Ignore Dependencies)Will expire: The asset will expire someday (
