Adobe Experience Manager Assets

I have created a custom multifield component consisting of three text fields. What steps should I need to perform to add the component to assets metadata schema? Thanks!

Hello Team, 6.5 on-site version.Assume you have a folder with 300 assets in it. You scroll down to the last 50 assets to preview, make corrections in metadata, etc. Each time you open and close the asset you are back at the top of the list of that folder. Then each time you have to scroll down through pages to get to where you last were... Now imagine you have a folder with 1000+ assets and you have to preview them... This is rather frustrating that AEM does not remember or hold last position and each time takes you back to the top of the list. It also takes time...Yes, I am aware I can open each image in a new tab each time, but sometimes we forget as it is not the common practice of how we open images when browsing... Is there a way to browse through the assets and not have to start from the top each time I open and close the image? I have worked with a few DAMs in the past, and non had this kind of "flaw". Many thanks!

Is there a way to run reporting to find all of the assets that are currently in a Brand Portal collection?  I need to move a large number of assets in AEM, but I obviously need to unpublish them from the brand portal first and doing that removes them from the collection.  If I have a list that I can reference I'll be able to restore collections when I have finished the moves.

I'm looking to create a workflow in Adobe Assets CS to update the name of modified assets.I see on posts people referring to the Update Asset model but when I look in the existing Models I don't see it Nor can I find processes that match.Any help is appreciated.

Hi Team, Recently I created a custom metadata schema and applied it to a few folders within the DAM. It seems to be working as expected on my account and a few others. One thing I observed is that it is not visible to all the users within the same user group. I tested it with a new user and with a user who had been added to the DAM-Users group from a while back. I can confirm all user accounts (new and old) have the same access settings as they belong to the same user group. However, a few of them do not see the new metadata schema - they only see the default AEM DAM schema. At first I thought it may have been cookies related, so we cleared cookie history and also tested via incognito mode and via admin account impersonating the one that is glitching. No luck. Also, a lot of users lost access to the folder with the applied customised metadata schema - why is that?Question - is there something else that needs to be done when applying a custom metadata schema onto the folders? Hello,  When updating an asset file, I used the same file name so that it would link to the old asset. However, I accidently selected "replace" instead of "create version". Which deleted the old asset and created a new one. Now that it is published, the old asset no longer exists at that URL (a new UUID was generated). Has this happened to anyone, is there a solution or loophole? The asset is linked in many places (websites, assets, etc.), so it is ideal that the asset keeps the original URL (UUID).

AEM assets in CS.  Metadata writeback looks to work fine on original asset, but we see no metadata being propagated to renditions.  Does something additional need to be configured in the launcher to specify a specific rendition to writeback to?    Lots of documentation saying you can do this, but no info on how.   Does metadata writeback also apply to dynamic media renditions as well? Thank you! Jim P

Hello allI'm trying to understand the differences and usecases of on/off and expiry time for assets. The setup that I have in place is an author instance and a dynamic media server configured to the author. And I'm on AEMaaCS.Problem 1When an asset is published/unpublished from author, it gets published/unpublished from the DM as well. This activity updates the CRX properties to either Activate or Deactivate based on the operation carried out,1. cq:lastReplicationAction2. cq:lastReplicationAction_publish3. cq:lastReplicationAction_scene7Properties 1 and 2 are working as expected, for both publication/unpublication. Property 3 gets updated to Activate when an asset is published from author, but it doesn't change back to Deactivate when the same is unpublished. I've verified in DM that the asset got deactivated, but for some reasons the property is not getting updated in AEM. Hi,We have noticed that the shared link generated through the "share link" functionality in AEM assets is not working (giving a blank page). This was working, and it looks like this issue started occurring after the AEM (cloud service) upgrade to 2024.8.17465.20240813T175259Z. I am trying to create a content fragment using the post request using /api/assets, it is working fine for all the other Content Fragment Data Type but not for the Data Type JsonObject. Below is the request i am trying and it is not working. Hello,I am trying to update the Dynamic Media configuration to restrict certain MIME types (e.g., documents and PDFs) from being published or processed by Dynamic Media. Due to legal constraints and compliance requirements, we cannot store these types of documents on Dynamic Media as it is hosted on a public server.Could anyone assist me with how I can prevent these MIME types from being published to Dynamic Media?Thank you.

Hi Brains Trust, On onsite AEM DAM I am facing a challenge - users can upload files with the same filenames that already exist in the library. Some filenames are the same, but have either first capital letter or lower case... I want to block such option. Anyone uploading a file with the filename that already exists on the library (case not sensitive) should be notified and not allowed to upload unless file is renamed.  Does such feature exist or is possible on AEM DAM? Thanks

Hi, I recently took over a 6.5 AEM DAM with thousands of images on it. I have been tasked to audit the assets - keep relevant, delete / archive old and unreferenced.I do not have coding / developer access so will strictly use interface only. Is there someone who went through similar task and can share what they did? Here is what I think I will do:- Export folder CSVs. Which selective properties should I be choosing - Date Created, Date Uploaded, Referenced By (does CSV include this?)?- Then in Excel sort by Referenced and not Referenced, then sort by date created and uploaded. - Review images older than 5yrs and decide - keep or purge. This will be hard because I will have to visit each image individually. Unless - Is there a way I can tell the AEM through CSV which assets to purge? I could do that in bulk. Or is there a better way?  Many thanks 

Hey, Wondering if there is a simple, end user friendly solution (not having to write a 5 page code, or any at all) to change the default folder thumbnails look. It is clear how to change the thumbnail, so lets skip that part. Currently all thumbnails are covered in black shade that takes 70% of the thumbnail image. What's the point of having a thumbnail feature if it is covered with black or white shade? It makes no sense... This option neither shows the thumbnail, nor makes it easy to read the folder title due to transparency in the shade. Same applies to the collections... images with people have their faces covered by white shade. See attached for reference. AEM DAM 6.5 needs a bit of an aesthetic revamp. Many thanks 

Issue: Auto publishing of Remote DAM assets/Connected Assets from Sites after updating the assets in Remote DAM In AEMaaCS , have both AEM Sites and Assets program separately and configured connected assets for Assets SYNC.  When author updates assets in AEM assets program there is a sync operations runs in AEM sites for every 5 minutes (as per adobe) and updated the corresponding assets in AEM sites but won’t publish to the website.
