I understand that there was once a time when the cost to supply and maintain Adobe Analytics was based directly on the number (and size) of server calls being processed and stored. I would guess that this is no longer one of the main operating costs in providing and supporting Adobe Analytics client companies. I'm not saying that bigger companies with higher volume shouldn't pay more than smaller ones with lower volume. But, the strict 1:1 relationship between server calls and dollars presents a perverse economic incentive that twists implementation design and methodology in ways that don't best serve the goal of providing good information for analytics. The primary example of this can be seen in the implementation of a product detail page on an e-commerce website. We have a few things that we might want to track on this page: The load of the page itself (for AA traffic reporting, Pathing, etc). The product view for the primary product (or products on the page). Impressions of cross
Something very annoying to me is the inability to quickly copy a user group to use it as a template to create another group. I don't see anything similar in the Admin Console at this time, either. As a result, I'm requesting the ability to more easily manage Adobe Analytics User Groups by having a Copy or Save As feature to easily duplicate a User Permission Group.
Hello Team,If we share a Dashboard, the Dashboard will be available in the 'Shared Dashboards' of Dashboard Manager, but for all users.Even though we have option to 'Push To Users', it is to push the Dashboard to 'Dashboards Menu' of Reports & Analytics and not specific. Can we enable the option to Share the Dashboards only to Specific Users? This option would be great if anyone need to set privacy for their Dashboards!Thank You!Arun
Having the ability to add a trigger (e.g., a checkbox) to a forums posting alerting Adobe I'm looking for staff input on one of my questions would be extremely helpful as opposed to me simply tossing a question out into the forum and praying I will hear back from someone within a reasonable amount of time (i.e., within 24 hours). I know about @mention, but it does not appear to include a name in the list that suggests I'm truly including Adobe staff on my question unless I mention one of the few staff members I know right off the bat (which I believe is not conducive to expedience or efficient productivity). Also, in many of these cases, it would be counter-productive to submit a direct question to Adobe Customer Care, because the types of questions I ask are beyond what the typical help desk associate can manage unless I escalate the issue. The only time I should have to do that is if we're dealing with a very specific problem that cannot wait for someone in the forum to provide guid
I would be very useful to have an overview of which projects have been sent via the 'Send File on Schedule' option. Whilst the “Scheduled Projects” tab shows you which schedules exist and allows you to check the associated rules/recipients there’s no log of projects that have already been sent. If a queue and a log are too complicated, then even just having a “Date Last Sent” column would be better than nothing.
Current Issue:Right now, users may add custom descriptions to eVar & prop dimensions, however users cannot add custom descriptions to Adobe standard "out of the box" variables or classification dimensions. This inhibits user enablement as it may cause confusion to users who do not understand what certain dimensions are intended for. See screenshots for what I mean: Proposed Idea/Solution: The proposed idea would be to enable Admins the ability to add custom descriptions to out-of-the-box standard Adobe variables (such as Product variable) and also to attributes that are built from classification columns.Benefit/reason for request:This will help enable users to understand what the definition/description for every dimension, and will promote user adoption, especially for customized Adobe implementations. Our Adobe implementation does not leverage the "Adobe tag". Rather, we use a proprietary tagging solution, and so a lot of the standard Adobe variables are not applicable to our acco
Right now in Workspace, the range of the scale for the line & bar charts is set by the tool automatically and is based on the data set being presented. While most of the time this is fine however when it comes to supporting metrics that have high occurrences of major outliers (like page load time) or high amount of volatility , the scale can get 'messed up' if a single outlier data point comes in. it would be preferred if we were able to 'overwrite' the automatic scale to whatever range we as business analyst feel would be best for our purposes. In the event that we set a scale and outlier data point comes in the 'normal trend' doesn't get obscured for by a single point. this applies a lot to the minute and hour charts as daily averages seems to be more normalized than micro time period data points.this would help my organization a lot because we regularly do nightly code releases that can momentarily impact the performance of the user experience
Hi,for a customer registration process we have a funnel report setup in reports (classic). This funnel uses events which are serialized via an event id (kind of transaction number set by tracked application itself). We use event serialization for this funnel because from business perspective it is the best match. In workspace we set up a funnel (fallout visualization) with the same events. The fallout displays different values. This is probably because in workspace you have to choose as fallout configuration based on visits or visitors. The problem is that our events use event ids and we need to configure the fallout in the same way in workspace - but this seems impossible. So how can we currently set up in workspace a fallout displaying the same values like the funnel in reports? From my understanding we need something like a third fallout configuration type "based on event id" besides existing visits or visitor configuration. We miss such fallout configuration in workspace. In (classic)
It would be very efficient to be able to use a bar chart with a line in it to show more data. For example, I could use the bar to show numbers and the line for percentual growth, i.e. to show visits and revenue with conversion rate, as shown below.https://searchengineland.com/figz/wp-content/seloads/2013/06/column-line-combination-chart.jpg
Hi,This idea is related to a question I posted : Incorrect attribution of conversions to Target activities in Analytics(?)It would be great to be able to choose the attribution period. Currently there is no expiration, which means that conversions are attributed to a past activity even long after this activity was live. So, doing your Target activity evaluation one week after your test or one month after your test or 2 months after your test might result in ending up with a wrong conclusion related to that test (because of being impacted by many other external factors, campaigns & tests). Some people might now think "but you can do this in the Segment builder by creating a segment on visit level and selecting Activity (Analytics for Target) exists THEN conversion exists" (cfr next screenshot). But no.. the result will still be that conversions are attributed to activities that were active even long ago. Reason: the IF condition 'Activity (Analytics for Target) exists' does not expir
Hi,I would like to raise a feature request relating to Adobe Analytics Data Feeds. Currently there is no option to move fields that have been added up and down in the list. For example, if I move post_evar30 into 10th position in the feed criteria but later decide I want it to be in column 30 having added many more variables, I need to remove them all and start again. This is very slow if you copy an existing feed and simply want to rearrange the order of the variables.Having a drag and drop UI for Data Feeds would be great. Thanks,Tom
We have third-parties that need to ingest Analytics data with specific column names. It would be ideal if we could overwrite column names in the exports. Example:- Need to send transaction IDs, Orders, Revenue to an FTP- However, the vendor has strict requirements that these be called ordr_id, ordr_cnt, rv_amt
This is a suggestion to incorporate a feature that would auto-detect the implications of a new custom bot rule prior to saving the rule. The thought would be to have the tool function similarly to the current segment previewer that runs a check on historical data to detect what percentage of the population would be included in the segment. I suspect a similar check could be run to determine if a bot rule is too broad in definition, etc. Such a tool would help clients avoid expansive definitions that might be costly in nature and/or negatively affect legitimate traffic.
When utilizing freeform tables in Analysis Workspace, it's very easy to accidentally drag a dimension like "Day" into the column space when I meant to drag it in as a row. Depending on the setup, this can create many, many dynamic columns, to the point where data is no longer visible, Adobe slows while retrieving a large matrix of data, and Chrome slows to a grinding halt attempting to render everything. The only option at that point is to destroy the entire table and start over, since you can't even get your mouse in to click and select the columns to delete.Could Workspace instead prompt the user if the number of columns created is over some reasonable amount (like 30) verifying that they are sure, before rendering the dynamic columns?
I have been working with support to determine whether or not the inability to set s.linkName in the custom code section of a rule is by design or is a bug. Engineering came back and said that the functionality is by design but everyone I have discussed this with on Adobe's side has agreed that they would expect that if s.linkName is dynamically set in the custom code section, then the value from the input for link name should be overwritten. Currently that is not the case, but I am hoping we can get that functionality added for use cases where this is necessary.
Webmaster Tools provides great visibility into search performance - full keyword list of terms, with impressions, clickthroughs, average position, etc. This information has become even more valuable as most organic search terms are now blocked. The Webmaster Tools interface, however, isn't fantastic, and the ability to get the data organized and exported properly is frustrating. Google Analytics has helped here - you can link GA and Webmaster Tools, to allow users to take advantage of GA's better reporting functionality. It seems to me Adobe should do the same here - by using the Webmaster Tools API (https://developers.google.com/webmaster-tools/) full keyword data could be brought into the Analytics interface. Granted it isn't integrated with site usage data, but that's still a whole lot better than what is in place now. My guess is almost 100% of clients would want this functionality. Right now, we are running both Adobe and GA in parallel in order to get this reporting functionality
Often analysts question how traffic is falling into the "None" bucket, figuring all possible traffic has been configured to go into one of the defined buckets. Having a tool to test referrer's, etc to see where these would end up, similar to classification rule builder test option, could be helpful in both configuring and troubleshooting.FYI that I typically troubleshoot via the data feed with the condition tied to va_closer_id’s set to 0 (not documented, but assuming it means hit didn't fall into any of the marketing channels).
Workspace is pretty, but it's not the fastest, especially when working close to the max of 25 months of data. Slow speeds compound in frustration when Workspace tries to recalculate whole tables and connected visualizations each time something changes. Modifying a table is next to impossible when reconfiguring each dimension or metric causes 15+ seconds of recalculation of the table and it's associated visualizations.Tableau gets around this with a pause button. I would hugely appreciate this functionality.Features of the pause button- Panel-level pausing for all calculations in the panel. Button would be available in header to pause panels before expanding them- All visualizations can still be configured, and all components accessed, but no new data would be calculated- Visualizations with changes made during a pause would gain some sort of highlight/color change- Export functionality could be turned off- Bonus: pressing the pause button halts all current calculations being performed,
It would be incredibly helpful to add a few columns to the Request Manager display. I would most like to see Report Suite ID or Name. And Date Range would also be very helpful.
Currently when month segment is used in calculated metrics it doesnt roll up or aggregate tot he changed time period. For example: Lets say for some reason there was no data for a page during April 01 to April 15, and calculated metric is built with If function to populated static number (say 1000) for those days, data display appropriately with day breakdown however when date range is changed to week/month/quarter it doesnt aggregate instead display 1000.
The default alerts report when a user clicks "analyze further" show a bullet chart and trend. Our team has created longer trend chart and some other items that are more helpful for analyzing certain alerts. We are looking for a way to help the recipients of an alert email to see these reports instead of, or in addition to the default report. The easiest solution I can think of is for the creator of the alert to include the link to the preferred Workspace in the Alert Description field when creating the alert. We would then need Adobe to update the alert email to also pull the Alert Description field into the outgoing email (it currently is not included). Once Adobe completes this, the emails will include the Alert Description which has the workspace link our team developed to analyze alerts.... or any other workspace links we may want to include for different alerts. Ask for Adobe:Update the alert email template/format so it includes the Alert Description field somewhere in the email b
This is a request to create continuity between Analytics products in terms of report delivery. For instance, DataWarehouse and DataFeed tools allow users to send data via sftp or even S3 while Analytics and ARB reports are limited in those capacities. In certain instances there may be security policies preventing delivery in some of these formats and/or other limitations. It would be helpful to have consistency between products to avoid confusion as well.
Allow for configuration of colors like you can do for conditional formatting. Right now this visualization displays data best against a positive goal, meaning more is good = green. What if you want to visualize costs and you don't want to go over a certain budget threshold? Allow not only changing of the scale but also defining whether high or low is good vs. bad.
Once a custom event is enabled/created in the report suite, it'd be nice to have a corresponding custom event processing rule automatically created within the processing rules.
I capture the pageName in an eVar on each page load. The expiration is on the hit. That gives me pageNames in a variety of additional reporting. However I'd like to associate the eVar pageName (and other page attributes stored in eVars such as Channel) with custom events captured on clicks that occur on the page. With the expiration occurring on the page load, the eVar completely misses them. I could use the Minute expiration, but this just isn't precise enough. If people stay on a page longer then I would miss events. Letting it expire at the end of the visit could really confuse things in the reporting even with overwriting. It would work better if the tool had an option to expire on the Next Page Load. That would capture all potential events without worry. As an additional option, Next Hit could be helpful as well.
