AEM DAM Bulk Metadata Update using CURL by Stories by Singaiah Chintalapudi on Medi... Abstract This article describes using CURL to update bulk metadata in AEM DAM. For this activity, I am updating the dam:assetState property value to: “processed”. Steps: 1. Get a list of DAM Asset path from AEM. The DAM Asset report can be generated based on your use-case. I am generating a report with the dam:assetState property. 2. You can go to: http://localhost:4502/mnt/overlay/dam/gui/content/reports/reportlist.html and create a new report 3. Select “Files” and give all the required info on the next screen and proceed further. Here you can click on Add under “Custom Columns” and give column name: Asset State and Property to map: jcr:content/dam:assetState and click on Create. This generates the CSV report. 4. Download the above CSV report 5. Since I want to filter the assets which has “processing” state and copy the paths to a text file (dam_assets.txt). Do not copy the headers of columns (firs

Multi-Lingual Personalization at Scale with Experience Fragments (AEM and Target) by Praveen Penupati Abstract AEM integrated with Adobe Target makes life easier for content creators and marketers. They both work in the tool of their choice and the integration allows them to focus on what they do best independently. Managing personalization for a multi-lingual brand is, however, still a big challenge. Wouldn’t it be dreamy if there was a trick to centralize multi-lingual personalization? How AEM and Target work together By Integrating Adobe Experience Manager with Adobe Target, one can harvest the power of AEM capabilities of cross channel’s content delivery, multi-language site capability and responsive behaviour, with the intelligence of Adobe Target which can be used to serve relevant content to the relevant customer. AEM and Adobe Target combined to facilitate the right customer with the right content in right language. Experience Fragments, created in AEM can be exported to A

I have a requirement to implement a facebook social-share option on the page. If we click the share option the page thumbnail image and page description should be posted to facebook and it should support sharing from experience fragment (Configured in Page property). We have followed the below article but the facebook app version used in the article is an old version and it looks like facebook has made many changes for the permissions. we tried requested permissions on developer.facebook.com for our app but it is getting rejected. The version we are using in v11. Can someone tell me if you are able to successfully implemented the facebook social share in your project, if so, please let me know the type of app permission we need to request and the app account type(Consumer or Business). As we only use this app to share our product details to facebook. we have even tried both account types but no luck./apps/core/wcm/components/sharing/v1/sharinghttps://experienceleague.adobe.com/do

hi , I am creating a migration tool in Java , to migrate content from another CMS into AEM pages. The data is in JSON format which consists of some metadata and HTML areas. I am converting the HTML areas into text component after migration in AEM , however the data is not displaying properly on the page. I see some weird characters after decoding the HTML in UTF-8 like ?? Is there a way to handle this in java ? I tried using StringEscapeUtils and JSOUP without any success. Thanks,Sam
Introducing Adobe Experience Manager Assets Essentials to simplify collaboration across teams by Elliot Sedegah Abstract Over the last few years, almost every brand has felt the pressure to accelerate the shift to a digital everywhere world. Customers now expect rich imagery and video at every interaction across the customer journey and every brand must deliver. We must transform from a world of siloed channel marketing, with many more teams working in concert to orchestrate customer experiences at scale. From ideation, creative production, to experience delivery — many more users are involved in the experience making process. However, many organizations still struggle to find a consistent approach to deal with the thousands of images, videos, and rich media used in the experience making process. Marketing teams and content creators are often stuck in their organization’s silos or use apps that do not enable the seamless flow of work and sharing of digital assets. It is not unusual f
Experience Manager Forms as a Cloud Service by Arun Taneja Abstract Today, great disruptions to business, government and everyday life have significantly increased the need for enrollment in digital services to be convenient, fast, and secure. Yet, it is still common for organizations to have hundreds of paper-based forms and processes. At a time when more people are working remotely (either full time or part of the time), the lack of paperless business and government is creating frustrating and time-consuming roadblocks. In our digital age, the expectation is that it should not take weeks to capture and act on data, nor should it be such an error-prone or costly process. Fortunately, organizations can free themselves from inefficient legacy solutions and manual work — and move to a modern platform. What does a modern enrollment process look like? A modern digital enrollment experience goes beyond initial data capture. It includes multiple touchpoints in a user’s relationship with

ECID Migration with AEP Web SDK by JB Creusat Abstract The Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK (AEP Web SDK) is now available and brings significant performance improvements but also changes in terms of data collection. One of the first questions is whether Visitor identification will be impacted. In this article, we will explain how the migration to the AEP Web SDK works and how to plan. While the different libraries required by Adobe Analytics, Target and Audience Manager are being replaced by a single SDK, the Experience Cloud ID (ECID) remains as the way to identify your visitors. The VisitorAPI.js is no more longer required when you are using the AEP Web SDK. If you are using Adobe Launch, you will simply remove the ECID Extension and check the box for the ECID migration in your AEP Web SDK Extension. One pre-requisite for this simple migration is that your implementation is fully on the ECID. If you are not sure, a first test is to compare Unique Visitors against Visitors with E
Difference between Brand portal, Asset Share commons & Dynamic Media by Aemtutorial Abstract People usually gets confused with various asset management tools from Adobe. Since each product has its relevancy, here we will try to compare those tools. What is the difference between Brand Portal & Asset Share Commons? Functionally, Brand Portal and Asset Share Commons both does similar things, provide assets stored in your AEM Assets to users without allowing them access to items that should be protected. These two tools options are simple in setup, configure so that the implementations are minimal. Brand Portal(This one is Licensed by Adobe) has been described as a secure, cloud enabled service for on-demand asset distribution to internal teams, external partners, agencies, and resellers for marketing purpose. The customizations are very limited in case of Brand Portal. Where in Asset Share Commons is a technical reference implementation(a reference for AEM developers when de
We usually say you can choose any subdomain as your Marketo LP domain, as long as it’s not already used by your company: pages.example.com, lp.example.com, get.example.com, signup.example.com, whatever-sounds-right.example.com. But in truth there are subdomains you definitely should not choose: promo.example.com, affiliate.example.com, and a few more. Why? Because these subdomains are on the EasyList General block list — a database used by the popular AdBlock plugin and others of the same ilk. Here’s the relevant entry for promo.example.com on the list: (It’s a strange-looking rule, because the maintainers of EasyList added exceptions for the Promo web app, who operate the domain promo.com — note that one’s not a subdomain of another domain — as well as Promo’s sister site Slidely and a couple of their customers.) As a result, any request to promo.example.com from a document on another private domain will fail. The AdBlock debugger is at least clear about

AEM Content Services: Using Sling and Node APIs to Provide Asset collections - Part 1 by Perficient Blogs Abstract AEM is a proven framework for application delivery. Intuitive authoring features and HTL (formerly Sightly) driven content views make it easy to put together pages served from an AEM environment. The standard component strategy is great, but AEM offers more flexibility in how you use authored content. AEM Content Services allows authored content to be consumed via a headless CMS approach. Content fragments offer discrete pieces of text and/or markup, and the Assets API provides references to your assets (including content fragments), all consumable by external apps as JSON. In a mature DAM, you’ll find you have some images and fragments that are appropriate for external exposure and some that are not. AEM provides Asset Collections to expose specific assets and organize those assets in a simplified way. You can add assets or fragments to a collection from anywhere in
Sling Framework Part - 1 by TechInnovia Abstract Sling Architecture, REST Principles, Sling Resolving Hello! Today I will introduce you to the Sling Framework. After this session you should have an Understanding of Sling Request Processing Sling Resolving and Script Processing Mechanism What is Apache Sling? Sling started as an internal project of Day management and was included in the installation of AEM. It has since been contributed to the Apache Software Foundation. It is Content-centric framework. Sling application used either server side JavaScript or Java servlets. Selected according to simple naming convention to process HTTP request in a RESTful way. The embedded Apache Felix OSGI framework & console, provides a dynamic runtime environment where code & content bundles can loaded, un-loaded & re-configured at runtime. Introduction to Apache Sling Apache Sing is a Content-centric that means that when processing a request, it first finds the content then based on
AEM Cloud Service - Assets Processing Profile and Post Processing workflow to generate JPEG Assets by Sreekanth Choudry Nalabotu Abstract Goal Create Low res JPEG images from High quality Master assets (eg. psd, tif) uploaded to AEM, so the jpeg images can be browsed using AEM Desktop app and placed in 3rd party apps like Figma. Solution 1) Create a Process Step apps.experienceaem.assets.core.workfows.ConvertRenditionToAssetProcess used in a Post Processing workflow for creating the JPEG asset from rendition added by a Processing Profile. It's worth noting that streaming of binaries in AEM cloud services is not considered a best practice, the rendition.getBinary() call in below code does not stream binary but gets a pointer to the binary in blob store. Also when processing the created asset set runPostProcess to false so the post processing workflow does not run on generated assets... package apps.experienceaem.assets.core.workfows; import com.adobe.granite.asset.api.AssetRelation;
How to Switch Between AEM Environments and Modes by exadel.com Abstract Adding projects with their corresponding environments and modes has never been easier. Our Exadel Environment Switcher for AEM plug-in offers multiple options for developers. You can create an unlimited number of projects, easily switch back and forth between your modes and environments, create several sub-environments, and share plug-in configurations between team members through the Import and Export operations. To better understand how our plug-in operates, Exadel has just released a video explaining how to use our Environment Switcher Google Chrome extension. Using a sample AEM project, the tutorial demonstrates alternating between environments and modes with and without the plug-in. Without it, every switch requires copying, pasting, and editing the URL, but with the Snap Environment Switcher, also known as Exadel Environment Switcher for AEM, all it takes is a couple of clicks. The video is comprehensive, s
