When lead/contact is deactivated in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Marketo treats this as a delete and sets the “Microsoft is Deleted” flag to true. This is when a lead/contact is manually deactivated in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. When a record is set to deactivated because of conversions/merges, please see those sections on detailed behavior.
When a deactivated record is reactivated Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the following behavior occurs in Marketo:If the record was initially deactivated because of a merge or a conversion, we will create a new record in Marketo when the record is deactivated. If any other record is reactivated, Marketo will change the “Microsoft is Deleted” flag of the associated record in Marketo is set to false.

Marketo has the ability to see and pull data from Salesforce Formula fields, there is however a catch which will be explained in this article. Everytime the Marketo Sync connects to Salesforce it will scan records and look at the "SytemModStamp" (salesforce system field) for each one of them. It will compare this value with the stored value, which was pulled at the last scheduled sync. If the values match, Marketo will move on to the next record. If the values are different (new value later date than previous value), then Marketo will do a compare and contrast of all fields on that record in both systems and update the information as needed. When a normal non-formula field is updated and changed on a Lead/Contact record in SFDC, the SytemModStamp value is updated. This is how on next sync Marketo knows to do a compare/contrast check and pull updates. Formula fields do not behave the same way. A formula field is calculated based on data in fields called upon in the formula; this means t
OverviewA triggered campaign launches automatically when a specific action occurs. For example, you can use a triggered campaign to automatically send an email to a lead after she completes a form.Triggered campaigns have at least one trigger in their Smart List. When the lead activates a trigger and passes through the other filters in the Smart List (if you have any), the lead will immediately proceed through the campaign's Flow.In a Smart Campaign, the Smart List palette contains a separate folder with Triggers. These are the events you can use to activate your triggered campaigns.Be careful when using multiple triggers. If you use two or more in a campaign, any single trigger can activate the campaign. Marketo populates these fields with data as a part of our regular sync. The MLM package is not currently required for syncing. However, it has been a prerequisite to install before you install the MSI package. The MLM package has reached the end of life and is going to be retired. The MSI package will no longer be dependent on the MLM package and our customers will be able to directly install the MSI package. As a result, Marketo will stop updating the fields created by the MLM package. The configuration change will begin on August 15th and will be staggered out over the next 6 months. If some or all of the fields created by the MLM package are important to your organization, you can recreate t
Included in this articleOverviewDue to changes in the SFDC integration, you may need to take action to continue syncing data to your Salesforce instance. The primary change affected a small number of fields syncing to your Salesforce instance, requiring the fields be recreated to continue syncing the data. Another change affected Salesforce Professional edition customers, requiring them to purchase API access from Salesforce in order to keep syncing all of the Salesforce integration, not just those affected fields. What Changes Were Made?Marketo's MLM AppExchange package has been retired. The MLM package itself didn’t do much, but was responsible for syncing 16 Marketo fields to Salesforce. The configuration update shut off the sync of data to the MLM package and these original fields. You can keep syncing the same data to SFDC but it requires creating new custom fields in SFDC.Once the fields are created, a drip process is initiated to backfill existing data from Marketo into the new fi

Yes. You will need a dedicated Microsoft Dynamics user for the purpose of the integration. We call this user the Sync User.
Included in this articleOverviewThe configuration changes being made will require customers to recreate some fields if they want to still use that data within SFDC. Once the fields are recreated, the backfill process begins, which in turn starts a global resync of all leads from SFDC to Marketo. This will push a lot of data between Marketo and SFDC. To minimize the risk of a traffic jam, we will be scheduling this roll out over the course of 6 months. This gives all customers a set time frame to work with and helps to avoid peaks in traffic. If the time scheduled for you doesn’t work out, we’ll try to accommodate another time within this six month timeframe that does work well for you. Alphabetical Scheduling DetailsThe changes being made will be staggered over 6 months in order to ensure we don’t cause any traffic jams while passing data back and forth. The best way to schedule this is to go in alphabetical order. This order will be alphabetically by your Marketo instance’s Account St

You should no longer receive blank alerts from your anonymous leads.

So you’ve now used the previous document (Getting Started With Guided Landing Pages:) to download a template from our library and set it up in your Marketo instance, you have even used it to make a landing page or two and you’ve customized those landing pages, all of which is fantastic news! Good job! But now you’re looking at the template and things need to be changed: That’s a good start, but the Elements on the page may not seem “right” to you. We have an image on the left, a text headline on the right and a form below the text headline. What if that’s NOT the layout you intended? What if, instead, you wanted the headline at the top, centered on the page and the image and the form side by side below the headline? All of the elements on the template can be added, removed, re-ordered, changed up, switched out and modified. Doing so, however, absolutely requires knowledge of HTML. As stated before, if you are not comfortable editing HTML and do not have a
Marketo now fully supports responsive landing pages, we call the new style a "Guided Landing Page". A Guided Landing Page is one that is capable of dynamically resizing itself for different window sizes and devices. If you’ve used the Marketo interface to set up an Email Template and an Email, the basic concept of setting up a responsive template and landing page will feel pretty familiar. First you have to define a template that contains the editable areas of the landing page, once that is completed you use that template to build the landing page. Unlike the Email editor however, constructing and altering a responsive landing page template will require a minor amount of HTML knowledge. If you are not comfortable in HTML and do not have an HTML developer available to assist you, Marketo’s services team can help! You can reach them at services@marketo.com To get started, first visit our Template Library for Guided Landing Page Templates located here: docs.m
