You did the right thing: you reduced 100s of unmaintainable forms to a handful of global forms. You use native Visibility Rules to show/hide fields based on user input. Then your boss throws a curveball: “Can we show different fields if we already know somebody’s segment(s)?” Uh-oh. Segmentations aren’t available as form fields. Makes sense, since they're system-managed and a person can never change their own segment. But the fact they're not available in Form Editor means you can't use them in VRs. You can of course make the entire form element dynamic. But then you're back to cloning forms, recreating your maintainability nightmare. But fret not, it’s easy to use segments in Visibility Rules. There’s just a little bit of back-end prep and front-end JS. Create a front-end field Create a new field as shown below. With my clients, I refer to such fields by their “pseudotype”: they’re form visibility manager fields[1] and we create one or two in every

In our last Edge Data Collection Concepts blog, we introduced the basics of an Experience Data Model (XDM) schema. Recall that the schema is the foundational structure of Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) data collection made up of field groups that label the data being collected. The schema class, on the other hand, is a way to define the characteristics of the schema, such as whether it represents a profile or an event. In this post, we’ll take a deeper dive into schema creation and best practices that you can follow as you create your first schema. Why do I need a schema? You need a schema whenever you want to send data to AEP. For example, if you want to create audiences in Real-Time CDP (RTCDP) or execute campaigns in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), that requires datasets in AEP that are structured using schemas. Schemas are a tool to support consistent data collection across sources with proper data types. When You Don’t Need a Schema While schemas are essent
I'm trying to use Calculated Fields in Data Mapping to transform objects in an input array that look like [{"key1":"string1","key2:"string2"},{"key1":"string1","key2:"string2"}] to an output array of objects that look like [{"value":"string1=string2"},{"value":"string1=string2"}], but I can't figure out the format needed for the input Source Fields, the combination of calculated fields needed, or the format needed for the output Target Field. The objects in the array are always a pair of key:string, but the array is a dynamic size, sometimes containing dozens of {"key1":"string1","key2:"string2"} objects, so it's not feasible to individually reference the fields in each object in the input array entry via [0], [1], [2], etc. I tried using data.page.facetRefinement[*].name but the Calculated Field tool won't accept it.Example input JSON: { "data": { "page": { "facetRefinement": [ { "name": "Document Type", "value": "PDF" },
When I was working to reduce weight, I did a lot of things. On the first consulting call, my dietician told me to update my weight on the app every morning. I had never used a weight scale before that call (part reason why I got myself into the problem in first place) She was very clear — how are we supposed to monitor your progress if you don't have a weight scale? It's non negotiable. Fast forward to 2025. There has been amazing content on social media about how habits are formed. We know that habits and systems are better than goals. Atomic habits is already a huge hit. We know that the crucial item to develop habits — is to have an environment where you can engage in those habits easily. I could immediately relate this concept of environments shaping our habits — to how a weight scale was so important to lose weight. I realize that just having a weight scale in your room will ultimately result in weight loss. If you have a goal to chase a healthy weight, lookin
“What am I most excited about in 2025?” – this was a question I was asked on a Marketo User Group call last week. Now theres’s far too many predictions written in December and January. But as someone who loves a good look ahead and plan for the year ahead, I have to admit that this year will be bumper year for Marketo. While some might be dreaming of AI Agents for Marketo, I’m more excited about the new features and updates in Marketo that promise to make our marketing efforts faster, smarter, and more personalised. What I’m most excited to implement in Marketo in 2025 are the new features and updates that will boost my team’s creativity and efficiency. The new email designer with GenAI will allow us to create personalised, high-quality email content faster than ever. It leverages generative AI to craft compelling copy and designs seamlessly. The features of this new email builder will make our existing email platform almost redundant. Additionally, Adobe is exploring approval p

We are looking for a way to group a number of image presets. I.e., we have 20 rendition presets, but I'd like only 5 of those available for the assets on a particular folder. Is this possible?
Hi everyone,We are working in a project with a React App and editing the content via Universal Editor. The content is being handled with content fragments. We have a content fragment that has 3 fields: depending on what you select in the first field we want to display the second field or the third field.Since each field in the universal editor looks like an iframe itself we cant figured out how to manage this case.Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks!Carlos.

Webinars can be a tricky tracking setup with Marketo Measure (fka Bizible) because usually there will be Touchpoints from what Marketo Measure would consider “online” channels and also from “offline" channels. To break that down further… For webinars, there typically will be a JavaScript Touchpoint from the prospect filling out a form to register for the webinar. It’s thought of as “online” because it’s tracked by the Marketo Measure JavaScript. The channel would be whatever drove the person to your site to then complete the registration form whether it’s Paid Search, Email, Organic Social, etc. Where the “offline” tracking comes in is the actual webinar attendance. Now this can confuse people because webinars are online of course, but webinar attendance typically is not trackable by the Marketo Meausure JS so it must then be treated as an “offline” channel (tracked by syncing a CRM Campaign or Marketo Program/Activity). Why can’t the Marketo Measure JS track

The Marketo Champion Program is recognition for experts in the community who demonstrate exceptional knowledge of Marketo, actively share their insights, and contribute to helping others succeed. Champions are seen as thought leaders, often speaking at events, sharing best practices, and engaging in forums to support the wider Marketo community. To qualify, you must actively work with a current Marketo instance, hold a valid Marketo certification, and demonstrate ongoing contributions to the community. When I applied, I worked for a business that had a relatively modest sized Marketo instance with Adobe Dynamic Chat. It’s a myth that if you have more than one product you’re looked on more favourably. I also completed my Master certification – something I always wanted to do! But more importantly I loved to help others; mentoring in the companies I worked at to Expert status and speaking at local and global events. Although (as it stands!) I am a two-times Champion, you are
Hi All, We wanted to check if anybody has faced an issue with a decimal value search not working properly with Lucene in AEM. We observed that "." is taken up as "Space" by Lucene. Since it is not mentioned exclusively in the Apache Lucene documentation hence this behavior is odd when the search results are coming. Example:Searched Value -> "0.360"Results -> Document which doesn't have 0.360 but has (35.0) 360 Could any body provide any insights on this issue.
You might’ve just groaned, “A whole post about the [in time frame] = Next Month filter? Ugh.” Hey, give me a little credit. You might think you merely haven’t used it, but the reality is there is no such [in time frame] option! This is what we’ve got: Luckily, it’s easy to build work-alike logic. Assume your current field is called Expiration Date. Create a new Date field named Next Reminder Date. Keep that new field updated using a daily batch running after midnight. Catch changes to Expiration Date as well as new people: And set the Next Reminder Date back 1 month from Expiration Date: Now, using the built-in [in time frame] = This Month on the new field gives you the desired outcome: That’s it!
I'm looking to implement IDAM 2FA authentication on an AEM author instance using OAuth 2.0. Could anyone provide guidance on how to set up OAuth 2.0 authentication for an AEM author instance?
Step-by-step guide for using Adobe Experience Platform Log in to Adobe Experience Platform: Go to https://experiencecloud.adobe.com/ and log in to your Adobe Experience Platform account. Navigate to the platform: Once you're logged in, you'll be taken to the Experience Platform home page. From here, you can access all of the tools and features that are available in the platform. Create a schema: In AEP the data to be ingested need to be bound to a specific structure called schema. Click on the "Schema" tab in the left-hand navigation menu and then click the "Create Schema" button. Choose a base class for the schema and the name for your schema and add all the fields and identities to the schema. You can even leverage one of the predefined fieldgroups. I can cover schema base classes and fieldgroups in one of the next blog. Create a dataset: To start working with data, you'll need to create a dataset. Click on the "Datasets" tab in the left-hand navigation menu and then click th
Struggling with constant guilt of not having removed former colleagues access to Adobe Analytics. Though you know you should be doing it, you're dreading getting started. Or is it the list of old Workspaces that's been on your todo forever, for you to go through and delete any unused workspaces? We'll here's something that will ensure you will spent less than half the time it usually would take you. Like everyone else, I'm constantly looking into how to better use AI both personally and in my client deliverables. So, last week, I decided to see how far I could push AI as a developer on something I had yet to gain exposure to. I thought it would be a good project to see if I could integrate the Adobe APIs into Microsoft Excel. I am by no means a developer. Javascript I can read, but I used to Google it if I needed to write. Nowadays, I GPT it— if that's even a thing? My initial thought was to have chatGPT support me in building an Excel add-on, but after explaining my requir

When it comes to Bot filtering in Marketo may be confused by the setting options and how they work. Why does it matter? Bot activity is seen by Marketo as an interaction with the email asset. Whether it is an open action or a click action these are recorded in the person’s activity history. When you use a smart list trigger of filter for opens and clicks, Marketo is looking for these types of actions in the person’s activity. If these activities are the result of a bot and not the actual recipient, you can see how this can distort your program performance report. For example, the email link performance report may show very high click activity because it is including repetitive clicks in addition to unique person clicks. The intent of this article is to try to explain the settings and how to run some tests to determine the best set things for you. A couple of things to first note is that there are two different types of filters which you can enable. The IAB Lis
More Marketo Engage customers are bringing Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) into their marketing tech stack or are new-to-Marketo customers who have purchased AEP and made the decision to simultaneously move to Marketo as their new marketing automation platform. So more and more, I receive the question – where should I build my audiences for marketing? As we know, Marketo makes it easy to use smart lists to identify people that have certain attributes and/or behaviors and then use that smart list to take action on those people. If you are not familiar with AEP, the platform also creates audiences by querying for attributes and/or behaviors based on the data available in its data lake and person profiles. This data could be sourced from multiple systems, usually including Marketo. A great advantage with AEP is that you can create an audience in one place and then share that audience to multiple destinations at once. For example, you can create an audience of all people who

Welcome to our new blog series on Edge Data Collection Concepts, where we’ll explore key elements of Edge Data Collection and their role in your implementation! To kick things off, we're diving into Experience Events – an essential component of Edge Data Collection, designed to capturing real-time user interactions and transform them into actionable insights. What are Experience Events? Experience Events in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) are records representing user interactions, such as an add to cart or purchase event. These records can be ingested in real-time or batched and are used to enrich data around user behaviors. Experience Data Model (XDM) Schema: AEP data is structured using an Experience Data Model (XDM) schema. Each XDM schema consists of two parts: Class: Defines the type of data. The two primary classes are Experience Event (for event records like interactions) and Individual Profile (for customer attributes like names and loyalty details).&
