New Features of Dynamic Chat [launched in December 2022]

We are excited to announce some important updates released to Dynamic Chat this month that we think you’ll find useful.   Chat Transcript  As you may already know, all lead engagement with the chatbot is captured as an activity against the lead in Marketo Engage. Now you can see how the conversation went with the chatbot transcript. A new attribute "Chat Transcript" is added "Engaged with Dialogue" activity type which captures the URL of the conversation transcript.   Once you open the URL, you can see the conversation between the person and the chatbot.   You can view the conversations either in the chatbot window or in plain text format, along with dialogue and time details on the right.   Support Integer and float field types Now you can sync and capture Integer and float data type fields into Dynamic Chat from Marketo. In the map-to-response option, you can see the data types along with the field names. You can use these attributes to capture information like company revenue or employee size etc.   Updates to target URL logic  We have made the following updates to target URL in audience criteria tab of a dialogue: 1. Now target URL will support URL formats without the HTTP or HTTPS protocol  2. When you enter *.yourdomain.com it will not only consider all subdomain i.e https://blog.yourdomain.com , https://support.yourdomain.com but also work for both naked domains and domain with www prefix i.e https://yourdomain.com and https://www.yourdomain.com

New Features of Dynamic Chat [launched in November 2022]

We are excited to announce some important updates released to Dynamic Chat this month that we think you’ll find useful.   Support boolean field types Now you can sync and capture boolean data type fields into Dynamic Chat from Marketo. In the map-to-response option, you can see the data types along with the field names. When you select a boolean field type, you will see responses Yes or No are auto-populated and the same will be shown to the visitor through the chatbot.     Submit button for info capture card Customer feedback we received - "When entering data in the chatbot as an end user, it’s not clear you need to press “enter” to submit". Makes sense right? So we added submit button to info capture card   Dialogue used by list As you might already know you can retarget or run operational campaigns based on visitor engagement with dialogues using the new set of Dynamic Chat triggers and filters in Adobe Marketo Engage. If you have any such campaign running and suddenly someone in the team deletes a dialogue, the campaign will never trigger again. This happens no more! Now when you try to delete a dialogue, you will be automatically shown all the Programs or Staticlists or Smartlists where current dialogue is being used. You can directly click on the links provided to update the campaigns before deleting the dialogue.   Changed default meeting buffer to 30 minutes We have changed the default buffer between the two meeting slots from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. This means you will now be able to get more meetings booked and also provide more slot options to your customers.   Skip asking for information that you already know I think nobody likes to give the same information again and again! If you also think so, this feature is for you. In the Stream designer, on the info capture card now you will see an option to either skip or overwrite the value provided by the visitor. By selecting the Skip option, the chatbot will check if you already have the respective lead information and automatically skips to the next card.     Disconnected nodes in a dialogue All disconnected cards and streams on the stream designer will be automatically highlighted. 😃   Hope you are enjoying using Dynamic Chat, if you have any feedback please write to us dynamicchat @ adobe .com

Next-Generation Experience FAQ

What is the next-generation experience? The next-generation experience is our commitment to providing an updated and innovative user experience to customers in a way that offers flexibility, access to innovation, and ease of use. In 2020, we began delivering this next-generation experience by rolling out a new tree and global navigation that act as the frame of Marketo Engage, while keeping the right frame unchanged. Please keep in mind that this new tree and global navigation cannot be toggled back to the previous tree and global navigation.   Beginning in 2021, we will be updating the main canvas to allow users to seamlessly switch between the current user experience and the next-generation experience with a new design scheme, productivity enhancements, and some features and functionality that currently live exclusively in Marketo Sky. The ability to switch back and forth will be provided through a toggle on the bottom right that offers ultimate flexibility – allowing users to switch back and forth at any time during their workflow without losing their place or progress. These updates will be rolled out on an agile and screen by screen basis.       What is the difference between the next-generation experience and Marketo Sky? Marketo Sky is an open beta testing environment for a new experience that allows for customers to try out new designs, innovations, and productivity enhancements while giving our product team the opportunity to do user testing and research. After learning from the Marketo Sky open beta, we are moving forward with developing the next-generation experience described above. The next-generation experience is not Marketo Sky, but rather a strategy of delivering an updated design and innovation created based on learnings from Marketo Sky.   What is happening to Marketo Sky? Marketo Sky will still exist for the foreseeable future. However, we will no longer be actively developing new screens or features in Marketo Sky as we shift our focus to the next-generation experience.   What will happen to features and functionality that is exclusive to Marketo Sky now? Marketo Sky features such as event insights for Predictive Audiences and Event Caps and Waitlisting will be delivered in the next-generation experience, so there will be no loss of functionality, just an easier way to access these innovations.   Where can I go for resources and updates? The Marketing Nation Community “Next-Generation Experience Blog” is the best place to check for updates. You can subscribe to this collection of blogs and be notified via email of any updates to the board by clicking “Subscribe” in the top right. We have also begun including updates in the core Marketo Engage release notes and product documentation. Release notes can be found here. The next-generation experience product documents can be found here.   How can I provide feedback? We want to hear from you! The best way to provide feedback is via the blue “Give Feedback” button in the top right are of the updated Global Navigation bar. The product team actively reviews this feedback and you will often get a direct response from someone on the team.       Rollout Plan Is there a toggle for the new tree and global navigation? No there is no toggle option for this phase of the rollout. The toggle will be introduced in H2 of 2021 as we begin to deliver new designs / enhancements screen-by-screen in the main canvas.   What time of day does the upgrade occur? The upgrade occurs the day of your scheduled upgraded after business hours Pacific Time (between 6 and 10:30pm PT to be exact).   Do I need to schedule a training for my team? The changes should not be disruptive to how your teams work and the product documentation and walkthrough video should be ample to prepare you. However, should you choose to have an internal training on the topic, please plan to do so the day after the upgrade as the upgrade happens after business hours Pacific Time (see above).   When can I expect to have my instance(s) upgraded? Most if not all instances will be upgraded by early June. Please check your email and/or with your CSM for the specific date.   Will admins have control over how users access the toggle? There is no toggle available for the new tree and global navigation, but when there is a toggle option for the main canvas screens, admins will be able to assign toggle permission on a user role level. For example, an admin can assign the toggle permissions to the “Marketing User” role. In this case, all users who have the user role “Marketing User” will be able to toggle to the new experience and back for all features that have been delivered in the next-generation experience.

Champion Tips and Tricks for Marketo's Next Generation User Interface! (MEUE, for now!)

HELP! WHAT IS MEUE? WHAT CHANGED? I’M NERVOUS (don’t be!) If you have, or are about to have, the new the next-generation user interface from Marketo, you may notice things look different. To get started, feel free to check out this Blog Post, or this PDF, but the Marketo Champs are here to give you tips and tricks for navigating the changes. Huge shoutout to fellow Marketo Champs @christinazuniga, @brooke_bartos1 for the tips and tricks and the Adobe/Marketo team for their help answering some future release questions!   DRAG AND DROP!Ok, we have heard this a lot, we are all sad that it won’t be re-released until next year, but in the meantime, Marketo has made significant improvements to the 'move' function to make the loss of drag and drop less of an issue! Top things to note: You can now right-click on a folder and create an asset, and it will be created within the folder you right-clicked on, eliminating the need for you to move the asset to the proper folder Right-Click 'move' has become significantly faster When you choose to move an asset, you can specify which folder you would like to move it to inside of a program as well. Also, it’s easier than drag and drop when you have a big tree, so bonus points there! Right-click cloning will not create the asset inside of the folder (sadly), so you will need to then move the asset by right-clicking and moving Folders in the Design Studio can be moved within the same workspace, but not across workspaces at this time Drag and drop in Nurture streams: There are two ways you can add nurture content to the streams without drag and drop. You can either add assets to the stream using the plus sign instead of drag and drop. (here is what that looks like):   or, you can right-click an asset and add it to the stream when you are inside the nurture program (here is what that looks like): ERRORS Seeing some system errors pop up when you try to right-click? This can be due to Chrome extensions, so try it in Incognito mode and see if you are still having an issue. If so, open a ticket as it may represent a bigger issue. If it does appear to work in incognito mode, then you may need to try playing with your extensions to determine which one is the culprit. And if you are able to pinpoint this information, this is still extremely helpful to Marketo support, so please open a ticket and pass that information along! Thank you 🙂 ARCHIVEThis is a short-term pain point, as this will be added in the next release on 10/16/2020, but you can no longer right-click a program and move it to an archive folder. So hang tight; you can always un-archive the archive, move the folder and re-archive (or wait a few weeks!)   ICONSAll the icons look a lot different, check out the icon glossary in the next-generation UI document!   COMMUNITY LINKStruggling to find Marketing Nation? It and support are helpfully located under the Help drop down. TOP NAVThe superball is gone, but the navigation that lived below the superball is now conveniently located at the top as a Global Navigation menu. Another great upgrade is the resizable and collapsible tree with numerous usability & filtering improvements!   GLOBAL SEARCHThere is now the ability to do a global search from the top, and within your search results you can do extensive filtering (inactive triggers, ARCHIVES, etc!)   URL CHANGEYour Marketo instance URL no longer references the datacenter your instance is in (Ex: sj24), it now shows your munchkin ID. Save your datacenter information to your Marketing Ops documentation so you have a reference when checking status.adobe.com. Marketo is working on adding pod, munchkin, and prefix in a unified location that makes it easier to see and copy. They are aiming for this to be included in the January Marketo Engage release! Until then, save your info!New URL:   Old URL:    MISSING PURPLE? AND WANT YOUR TREE SIDEBAR WIDTH TO BE SAVED? Adrian Fraguela (@adrianfraguela) created a Chrome extension that changes the color of the selected item to purple to help you see it better! As Adrian mentioned the newest version allows your sidebar to stay the width you resized it to!   POP-UPS BLOCKED? When the new UI was rolled out for me, I had to re-approve allowing pop-ups. So if you try to open things and they just aren't opening, check your pop-up settings!   REPORTING It seems that when creating reports in a folder, the report no longer automatically selects the program that you are in, so be sure to check your selection under the report settings!   Have any other tips, tricks or questions? Comment and we will help one another out!
