We are planning to run a technical as-is upgrade of our website from CQ 5.2 to 5.6 without changing functionality. From a planning perspective: 1. What are the considerations we need to address to understand the required effort and time required for the upgrdade?2. Dow we need to run any migration of the content? how long does it take for a medium complex environment, say for a single system environment (DEV or Prod)3. What are the risks, if the content is considered highly bespoke? thanks

Im new in this forum and Im looking for the correct Adobesoftware to acquire to be able to do things like:- DVD-CD-BLUERAY presentations ( albums, music liststracks)- Disc media, Iso image, web exe folder, or hard disk folder styles to making fully visual installers ( backgrounds, custom objects for listboxes, combobox, inputs, web object, labels, paragraph and text alike rtf format)- Full help file to learn the usage.The reason is Im still customer for Autoplay Media Studio and this soft is great but with no lately updates, lacks on security, issue that makes me worry me and Im looking for a software that meet with all these things AMS is able to do with? Is there a straightforward way to build a component that can accept another component being dragged on without a parsys? Eg, perhaps I define a "row" component that creates three regions, each of which can have one component added, and that component might be video player, image, text, etc. I'm currently using v5.4, but upgrading to 5.6.1 might be a possibility.

Hi,I have configured the dispatcher in apache webserver in my local machine(Linux).When i start the instance with 80/443 port am getting GUI welcome console.But later when i click the other links am not getting GUI console but getting text format like if click replication,the content in that getting in text format.Please find the dispatcher.any and httpd.conf files from my local machine and revert me back with correct configuration.Thanks Mahesh

Looking for some help implementing scheduled activation in a custom workflow. The only information i could really find was based on this post - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/988356 - which described AbsoluteTimeAutoAdvancer. I attempted to implement this by copying the participant step in the default "Scheduled Page/Asset Activation" workflow and setting the WorkflowData's MetaData property "absoluteTime" to my desired UNIX time. However, this doesn't seem to be functioning as it will just sit on the "waiting for activation" step. I've tried setting the time to before today, tomorrow, and not setting it at all. Am i missing something about how it works?I also saw in that post that Justin suggested extending the AutoAdvance class and implementing the getTimeoutDate method. I attempted this as well (code below) but when it gets to this step it also doesn't advance. I can see the logging statement printed to the log so i know it is running. Am i missing another method that i should be im

Hello, I have a table component I have made that I want to include code at the beginning, but also be editable. For table data I have the following code <button onclick="cecontrol('row') ">–/+</buton><table border=" 0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" width="100%" id="row">I can put that in, and it works until it is edited. Once it is edited the first line is deleted and the id="row" is deleted. Is there a way to code it so that is always included in that component? 

Hi everyone,As you all probably know im new to CQ. I have been looking over the APIs, and was wondering what the best solution is to sort a list of Resources.My current snippet is :Iterator<Resource> myResources = res.listChildren(); while (myResources.hasNext()) { Resource resource = myResources.next(); String name = resource.getName(); LOGGER.info("The node found is = " + name); } So what I need to do is sort the resources by name before I loop?  Do I need a custom comparator for this or is there something in the CQ APIs that will do the job?  I.e it would be nice to use Collections.sort etc...Thanks

I would like to get a recommendation on where to store JavaScript libraries to be used by multiple themes and or designs.  E.G. /etc/{some-name}/My initial thought was to store them in etc/designs but not sure if this is a best practice.Thank you in advance

But it is hard to manage documents inside dam with the custom metadata because to view its metadata value I have to open each and every document.
