Hi,I have created the component called "componentbox" and placed it in home page. when I try to edit the component the data are displaying fine in Edit mode,because *.inifinity.json is there and retrieving the data properly.Then I have created the sub-page under home page and the componentbox is displaying fine but when I try to edit it, it's not populating the exact data in Edit mode, its populating the default data, because for sub-page there is no *.infinity.json.So want to point out to home page *.infinity.json.Home page Json path -> en/home/jcr:content/componentBoxSubpage Json path -> en/home/subpage/jcr:content/componentBox instead of this URL want to point to Homepage Json path.Kindly help me for this.

Hi,I'm trying to activate user account in servlet but if I open the page and I'm not logged, the UserManager#getAuthorizable(String) returns null. I think it's because of some security features so I tried to create logged javax.jcr.Session but I wasn't able to create javax.jcr.Repository(and I couldn't use it's method login(Credentials, String)). I am using the datepicker component (granite/ui/components/foundation/form/datepicker) for a new field in the Touch UI, but it saves it as a String property in the node, rather than a Date.  We do querybuilder searches with Dates, and it doesn't seem to work when that field is a String, but it works as a date.How do I change it so that this component saves this value with type Date rather than String?

So client libaries are stored and cached in cq in /var/clientlibs.Is there any way to serve these files from that directory?For example we have client libraries with our components in our apps directory.  Currently using client libraries we are including them from the place the components lives for example if i create a component under/apps/test/myComponentI then create a client library for this and place the client library include in my jsp.CQ will cache this for me under /var/clientlibs/ but it will still serve them from the apps directory.  Is there a way to make this be served from teh var directory instead in my html so it won't be blocked by the dispatcher? Thanks in advance!

I am using AEM 5.6.1. I have configured MSM for my sites (blue print and live sites) and observed that in the page properties under the Basic tab the default fields tags/keywords and description are not being inherited in the live site (the lock icon is missing). Other properties are being inherited and the lock icon is visible. Even Geometrix exhibits identical behavior.I would like to make the tags /keywords and description also inheritable on the live site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have tried the following instructions http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/customize_siteadmin.html and find that it does not seem to work. I even downloaded the shared package example and still it fails to display the extra column. The josn page seems to work just the displaying of the column does not seem to work. I have tried this on a new instance of 5.6.1 any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to set up private forums in AEM? Forums that only designated users have access to view and edit. What is the best way to accomplish this?

There is a test data in particular maven module that generates and installs a package. Every build this package must by freshly installed. Like the package was uninstalled and then again installed. I cannot find a solution. Does anyone has an idea how to make it? Thanks

Hi All,I am new to workflows in cq and i have written simple workflow with two steps one is participate and another one is process step.In the process step i have written code to set the property on jcr:content node of page.After completion of the action mentioned in the process step also workflow symbol is still tagged in WCM console.And also in workflow console also still the workflow is showing in running state.Can some one help me out is this the right behavior or there any gap in the implemented workflow.I am adding workflow history screen shot as well.Thanks,Kishore

Hello,I am trying to read and write metadata on Image upload, I am able to trigger the custom workflow to extract metadata, but in vain.Here are my observations. I have tried using asset.getMetadataValue and Valuemap but no use.I have also tried using node.getProperty("dam:Fileformat").getString() but no results, can anyone help me here?Update: Instead of updating "DAM Update Asset" Workflow, i created a workflow launcher on node created at path : /content/dam/Test, (i.e> if there is an image uploaded at path  /content/dam/Test) , but in my opinion , it cannot extract metadata or write anything to it, cause the metadata update by "DAM Update Asset" Workflow is not complete by the time my workflow is triggered. Any way i could trigger my custom workflow after the "DAM Update asset" workflow is complete?or have my workflow triggered after the metadata node for the particular image uploaded ,has been completely updated?Regards,Nicole

Hi there,We have two different types of users: content managers and content contributors.  Content managers can create/modify/delete and replicate pages.  Content contributors, on the other hand, should only be able to edit the text/imagery on existing pages.  This means that they shouldn't be able to add/delete components onto the page or change the order of the existing paragraphs on the page.So, my question is: is it possible for me to have a content contributor with the aforementioned restrictions?  If so, how?From what I've read, if a user is given Modify permissions on a page, he/she can add/delete/edit/reorder the components & paragraphs on a page.  That would lend me to think that a Contributor role as described above is not possible.  What say you experts?Thanks in advance,RKB.

We are trying to use jQuery functions to adjust the DOM of the sidekick.  Document Ready is far to early so what event should we be using to trigger our JS?------BTW:  The forum is again unusably slow (15 sec to open the page completely!!!)  When will this be resolved?

Hi there, we are experiencing significant issues within our AEM infrastructure caused by massive content updates together with parallel dispatcher cache invalidation. Cache invalidation is driven by agents on the publish instances. One of the symptoms is the publish queues getting stuck, probably due to heavy load on the publishers which have to handle activation and rendering at the same time.Currently, any content update being pushed from author to publisher invalidates the complete dispatcher cache which (beside the heavy load) also leads to a poor cache hit ratio.The problem seems to get exacerbated further by the fact that we have multiple publishers and dispatchers in a many-to-many (spaghetti) relationships which seems to lead to "invalidation storms" as content getting replicated to multiple publishers lead to repeated invalidation on the dispatchers.It would be helpful if you could provide some pointers whether such problems are common and should be solved either viainfra reme

I am using the following code Asset damAsset = manager.createAsset(path, is, mimeType,true); where path is the destination dire and 'is' is inputstream pdf file, there is no metadata on I am applying the metadata to destination file using following statement Node node = damAsset.adaptTo(Node.class); Node mdNode = node.getNode("jcr:content/metadata"); mdNode.setProperty("pttitle", forms.getFileDisplayTitle()); Once all the files are finished I am terminating the workflow uing workflowSession.terminateWorkflow(workItem.getWorkflow());Workflow works fine for most of the time but last file didn't set with the metadata due to following exception. I am adding a custom tab to the content finder in our CQ5 project. One of the requirements is to add tag lists from selected namespaces as a filter criteria. The expectation is to display the tags in the standard tab picker. Added the following in the items list section of my contentfinder extension file in /apps/wcm/extensions/contentfinder, with no luck:{"xtype":"tags", "id":"some_id", "namespaces":["/etc/tags/mynamespace1",...]} I also tried the xtype "optionspredicate" but still no data gets loaded in the CF.Any insight to this is greatly appreciated.

Hi,I want to set a different timeout for a participant step in a workflow for different instances of the workflow running on different payloads. For e.g. I want to set a timeout of 2 hours for 1 instance of a workflow running on payload A. And for another instance of the same workflow on a different payload, Payload B, I want to set the timeout as 3 hours.Please tell if anybody has any pointers on this.

Hi all,I am using AEM 5.6.1 and facing issues with the workflow participant step when I have nested participant groups. The issue is that the users in the user selection is duplicated if they belong to a sub group of the main approver group.Here is the model of my workflow:Start > Workflow Initiator Participant Chooser > Participant Step > Activate Page/Asset > EndThe "Participant Step" will be configured with the main approver group. Basically once the workflow starts, the initiator will be able to go to the next step and select the next user or group to continue the workflow. However, with nested groups, the user which belongs to the sub group appears twice in the dropdown for the initiator's selection. Any way to remove these duplicates with nested user groups?Thanks!
